Amazing! I was going on Yelp to write a glowing review of this company and I read another review and I'm stunned. I think perhaps she may have the estate sale that she went to confused with another company. I had stopped going to estate sales because there always seems to be a system to accessing "the good stuff" and between waiting in line and the frustration of seeing "the fish that got away"- I just didn't want to do it anymore. Well... I started going again because I had really good and satisfying experiences at the estate sales Arroyo puts on. It's well organized with super fair prices. Not sure why I would be encouraging competition with this review except for the fact that I want them to flourish and continue having sales. The few times that I've gone there I have been amazed at the level of professionalism, the organization, and the pleasant energy in meeting from all the workers - even though I can tell they're under a tremendous amount of stress. Their check out was OK except once when there was a lot of people- so that was understandable. My only comment to perhaps suggest improvement would be if they can have a few more people working so that there's no waiting in the checkout. I noticed that they do their research so the pricing is fair to the seller and to the buyer. If I ever decide to scale down and lighten my load- I would use their services to help me achieve that. As I walked up to the sale I immediately noticed how professional it appeared. The items were organized and some had price tags. Both Kari and Kyle were friendly, helpful, and personable. Sadly, I would not at all recommend working with Kyle and Kari for your personal estate sales and or liquidation needs. Without going into a lot of the gory details, I will simply say it was VERY unpleasant working with them and rather than helping during a very difficult and emotional task of clearing our a family home, they made it worse. We had a lot going on at the time. My mother had passed away last June and my father passed away right when we started working with them and all they cared about was singing the paperwork and setting a specific time-frame and date to start. Things were really hard for my brother and I and our schedule changed by a few days, but it might as well have been the end of the world to them. They were extremely rude, insensitive, very difficult to work with, and I can honestly say they became totally angry about everything and then paranoid about all the items they were clearing out of the house. It was weird. We did a buy-out with them and it was a big mistake. They were very sneaky about about their work and in the end, we realized we essentially got ripped off. At one point, while looking at a pile of stuff they had just gone through I saw a tiny little old silver lipstick holder of my mom's and I wanted to keep it, but they actually made me buy it from them! Unreal. After sharing our experience with several people in the local area real estate business, we discovered their reputation was not so good. Apparently they failed to pay someone recently on a previous estate job, and rumor has it they changed their business name awhile back, but I can't verify any of that. In any case, I have text messages from them that are so upsetting, hostile, and personally threatening that I could use them as evidence for an abuse charge. I have several witnesses that can vouch for what I have said here. Honestly, I can only hope nobody gets treated like we did, and that they eventually put themselves out of business. read more

Kari Smith and Kyle Deise of Arroyo Estate Sales & Liquidations are fantastic people to work with. My husband and I hired them to handle our estate sale that consisted of furniture, clothes, kitchen items, collectibles etc. The sale was to take place in our basement, which with their talents they turned into a "store" with everything on display laid out nicely and price tagged. They meticulously went through all the collectibles and categorized them and did extensive research to appraise the value. They brought in expert appraisers and reached out to dealers and auction houses to be sure items would be sold through the best venue to bring us the maximum value. As our sale occurred in the heat of August and during Covid, only a limited number of buyers could enter the basement at a time. Kari and Kyle managed this process responsibly for the safety of everyone involved. The sale was extremely successful even under these circumstances. We could not be happier with the results of the sale and the professionalism that Kari and Kyle bring to their work. Highly recommend them! read more

Disrespectful, hostile, and rude I'm a long time resident of San Marino and visited an estate sale with my elderly mom on a nice Sun afternoon. My mom was approached for wearing a backpack. She had on a thin drawstring nylon backpack, she's petite and in her 70s. My mom invited the girl to look in her bag. She refused and repeated their rule about no bags. Mom was tired anyway so she decided to just leave and wait in the car. I then proceed to get in the back of the line to pay... She came after me to say, and I quote, "IF I SEE THAT WOMAN IN THERE AGAIN, I WILL THROW BOTH OF YOU OUT" I am in awe. I'm a grown woman scolded like I'm a thief in my own neighborhood at an estate sale which mainly had used household items and worn clothes. Sigh... They also didn't care about public health. She was screaming at me without a mask. The checkout line was long. I wanted to get some groceries and come back to pay for my items. That was also not allowed. I was told "YOU CANNOT LEAVE" by another unmasked woman. As I type, I just realized me and my mom were told both we could not leave and we were going to get thrown out by this group of people. Lol Needless to say, to save myself from further abuse, I emptied my reusable bag full of items I shouldn't be buying in the first place and mentally noted, never return to another estate sale by this group arroyo. read more

One of my parents had just passed away, and I had to move all personal possessions​ to two storage facilities. Due to the valuable nature​ of the items, I selected a fantastic facility by the name of CubeSmart, which was temperature-controlled​, to store everything in. (See my review on them) Living in another state and with COVID​ still a real concern, I needed to move forward with the ​liquidation of the items in storage​ and wanted to avoid another month of rental fees for two of their largest units. I was unable to travel back to Los Angeles to move this process forward in person. I contacted Arroyo Estate Sales never having met anyone from the Arroyo team in person. All arrangements were made over the phone, and from the first phone call,​ I knew that I could just relax​ and without reservation place my ​confidence in them to help me at a very difficult time. They graciously made all the necessary arrangements to move everything well before my deadline. Since I was doing this from a distance, Arroyo stayed in touch with me daily until they were able to complete the move to their facility and photographed the unit for me once all was moved to show the condition pristine condition they left it in. In the weeks after the move, various small items that they realized would have sentimental value to me were located, and they so graciously sent these to me so that I could have these treasures. (I insisted on paying for the cost of sending.) I never would have known these things had been found, but the tenderness and respect with which all the items were ​examined, pockets checked... lead the Arroyo team to set these aside despite the sea of things that had moved and were processing, and send these to me.
