This fun little gem of a story will tell you why the above rating... I went in with a frame that had been damaged by some movers to get an estimate done on how much it would cost to get it repaired or replaced. Upon finding the right style of frame I needed with the help of the store owner I asked for an estimate and was told I would not receive one until I had paid in full. The reason being he did not want me to collect the money from the moving company and just keep it. He said I would have to leave the pictures with him if I wanted an official estimate. I asked if I could have a business card with at least a rough estimate for how much it would cost on the back. He agreed to this. I returned to the store two weeks later with the picture and told him I would like to leave the picture with him so I could get the estimate and have it replaced. Once again, he insisted I pay in full before writing an estimate. I offered to leave the frame there and arrange it so the moving company would pay him. He insisted I pay in full right there and when I asked him why it had to be right then he took the business card that he had given me two weeks prior and ripped it apart saying "I will not even give you that much of an estimate." More perplexed than anything else at this turn of events I asked again why I couldn't just leave it as he originally offered at which point told me to go find someone else to get get the frame replaced - the tone of his voice was clearly upset as he walked away back to his computer in the corner of the shop. Now really confused as anything, I told him I would take his advice to which he responded "good" as I gathered my picture and headed for the door. I'm still not sure what happened. I get it, everyone has a bad day, but I would recommend to anyone I know to steer clear of this shop. read more

Went here today to get the glass of a broken picture frame replaced. Mo, the owner, stopped what he was doing to fix it right then! He was so fast and even fixed the mat in the frame so it looked nicer. Even better, the service was on the house since it was such a small job! What a surprise and such a kind gesture. I recently had two medium sized posters framed. The total came to about $450 even though I got some of the cheapest metal frames available. This seemed outrageously expensive. I wish I would not have spent this much, but the project was time-sensitive so it had to be done. If I could do this over, I would have ordered the frames online through one of the framers on http://Etsy.com -- their prices seem to be much more affordable. Art and Framing does offer same day service, which is nice. They were very speedy. read more

The owner is pretentious and dismissive. He treats customers like they do not know anything about aesthetics nor framing. He seemingly gets upset if you decline his first solution and then creates a tense atmosphere in which it is very difficult to explore alternatives. He might be praying on people's insecurities - his choices are decent, but not amazing - and he is definitely someone you do not want to end up giving your money to. I am shocked that this guy was ever recommended to me as someone I must see. If you are a masochist or would like to see what kind of customer service you could have run into before the advent of social media, then the experience is worth it and you should definitely engage. read more

I can't believe this guy is still in business. Here's another weird, funny story to join the one below. "The owner is pretentious and dismissive." (Filip V. below). Understatement of the year. I went in a month ago to get a diploma framed. I have no knowledge of the framing world and how things are meant to be framed. I told Mo this and I asked him to help me. While he started off telling me I had to get the most expensive frame, I told him I was on a budget. His eyes rolled. But whatever, I needed it framed. We decided on a frame that cost about $230 dollars. I paid him a deposit of half the money and went on my way. I then found out that my work actually helps out with framing. I called him that day to tell him not to prepare the frame and I'll come pick it up. When I got there again, he acted as if I was lying to him and told me that he knew my boss. He kept saying a particular name and I had never heard of this person before. I told him that and he just kept saying "I know man, I know man." There had been a miscommunication at my job and I realized that what I thought was wrong. I went back to this guy. I couldn't remember the address so I looked at my bank statement and saw where it was. I also saw that I paid $116. I was very confused by it as it seemed quite cheap, but in retrospect it was obviously the deposit. I went back to him and right off the bat he just said he was busy and "What do you want?!" I explained the situation and he asked me whether I remember the details. I told him I didn't remember what frame or any of the details. He asked me if I remembered how much it cost. I told him that I don't but when I looked on my bank statement it said $116. He laughed and just started swearing. I'm not joking. "Don't fucking fool me. I fucking remember everything," he said. I was taken aback. I continued telling him that's what the statement said and he told me that it cost $260. Then is when I remembered that it was a deposit (though, I'm pretty sure it was $230 as I seem to recall him saying it's a 50% deposit, but whatever). I asked him if it was the deposit, and he said, "yah it's the fucking deposit. Don't fucking fool me." At this point, I asked him why he was swearing and he answered, "You're trying to fucking fool me." He really loves that word apparently. I realized that I wasn't going to do any business here and just started to leave. As I left he yelled out, "You're not Indian. You were raised in America. Indian people are good people." I told him that 1) he's right, I'm not Indian, and 2) he's wrong, I wasn't raised in America. But I gather he has an animosity to people raised in America. He then proceeded to shouting, "fuck you, fuck you." He continued saying that he knew my boss, and mentioned the same name as before. I tried repeatedly telling him that he wasn't my boss and if he doesn't believe me, he should call him. That was, I think, more surreal than him just yelling at a customer. So chances are I'm not going back to this guy, and you shouldn't either. read more

Had a painting I needed framed in a really short period of time and a lot of people tell me I couldn't be done in such a short period but the owner himself here said he would get it done. I was really happy because moving a business is already a hard thing to do and this is something that I didn't think I could get done. Horrible service. Framer was rude to me and was stubborn about pricing. He was going to charge me 4x what A & A Art and Frame ended up charging me, and A & A gave me 4 frames within the hour!
