We had a ton of fun painting our ceramic pieces for a chill activity! I'm glad I saw this recommended by someone on TikTok because this wasn't something I would have spotted driving by. The art cafe mentions it's better to make reservations so we did about a week or two in advance. A table was set up when we got there but there were only 2-3 families in there when we were there. I can imagine it'd get a lot busier on a rainy day though, so I wouldn't risk not calling ahead. I think the charge for each person was $8, plus the price of your piece. I had seen some people say they thought it was a pricy activity, and without any prices listed online I was a little anxious about how much it could end up costing. When you get checked it you're told to pick a ceramic piece off one of the shelves, and there was so much to look at. They really do have so much; big pieces, small pieces, bowls, plates, mugs, figures, ornaments, decor pieces, etc. The smaller pieces can be pretty cheap, I think the small bowls me and my daughter picked were around $10, but most definitely under $15. My son picked out a little race car and that was was probably around $15. But I saw much larger pieces that were $30+. So this can most definitely be a cheaper activity if you keep is small and I think the $8 fee for supplies, glazing and firing your pieces is perfectly reasonable. After you pick your pieces you can pick your colors off a chart on the wall that shows what the colors look like once the whole process is done. This was a fun way to spend an hour or so, and I love the little bowl I made. The staff was friendly and checked in on us frequently. I was able to get a color refill at one point. They give you the pick up information on your receipt, the turn around time was about three days and I'm pretty sure I saw it mentioned on their site that they'll pack and ship it to your home if you won't be around long enough to pick it up. We will most definitely be back next summer, I can see this being a great yearly tradition! read more

Been coming to the Art Cafe for years during our annual vacation. Prices range from $10 Thru $90ish for platters or large cookie jars. GREAT place for a rainy or really hot day, when you've had it with the sun and beach. MAKE SURE to leave time for kiln process or they can mail it home for an additional fee. Staff is super helpful and give assistance when asked. Perfect place for little and big kids. Wonderful to make a memory to bring home. read more

This was such a fun family experience! We were in town for a few weeks and were able to make it out and enjoy the art cafe with no worries of having to come back to pick up after glazing process. Our beautiful items were safely shipped to our home and handled with care. The staff were so helpful during our visit & the cafe had a lot to offer in piece selection. What a great place to indulge your pottery instincts. A lot of projects to choose from--and colors to decorate. Helpful assistants around when you need some coaching. Honestly we've been spending hundreds in this place every time we go for years. Last year we were thrown off by the cafe moving so. We decided to find the new location. We went and picked out our pieces... There are 12 of us that painted. On top of the $8 per person paint fee and the cost of the pottery, we won't be returning. I hope management decides to move back to the old location where it's more convenient for people and consider removing the painter fee, especially for large groups. I think you're overcharged and the new location stinks. Sorry..... I hope this review helps sway ownership back to the old location and consider not picking the eyes of customers just because their on vacation with a fatter wallet. read more

We took our 14 year old son to Art Cafe during our Spring Break vacation. It was a treat to sit back, relax, and watch him paint. This was the perfect antidote to relieve the stresses of schoolwork. The staff was super helpful and made us feel right at home. Pricing for the use of the studio and the paintable items was comparable to most other art studios. They have everything you need: all sorts of brushes and sponges, different types of paints in plenty of colors, stencils, stamps, and more. Everything is set up for you and they clean up, too. I love the look of the studio - it is colorful and fun. Fellow patrons also seemed to be having a great time. I brought my niece and nephew here for our first visit this pat week, and I can't for the life of me understand why we waited so long to come and check this place out it was fantastic! We has such a great time, the staff was very accommodating and helped us whenever we needed it. The selection of items that can be printed was incredible, sooooo many different items to choose from. My nephew is from Ohio, and he found a football helmet that he painted up as a Bengals helmet ~ and guess what!? The day we picked up the Bengals head coach just happened to be visiting and he autographed it for him, best summer souvenir a 9 year old football fan could have ever asked for. I would highly recommend this place to any and all of my friends with children as a great economical activity and a great day of fun. read more

The staff in the restaurant below went to get the pieces for us since we were leaving the island that night. We were told that half the pieces were still being fired in a live, unattended kiln! We will never be back and I can't get over this VERY unsafe practice of firing items in an unattended studio. We surely won't be back. read more

Worst service experience in my 47 years. Thankfully, we have been to this type of venue before so we knew, basically how it works. We arrived and we were put on a wait list. That's ok. We browsed the shop and picked several cute pieces. After about 40 minutes of browsing and deciding, we noticed that several groups behind us had been seated, no one waiting in line and several open seats. We sat ourselves. We used our color card, and circled the numbers and twice when we tried to get the attendants attention to give the card, we were told to get the paints off of the other tables. So we did. The colors that we chose that we could not find on the other tables, we went and retrieved them ourselves. We spent more than an hour and a half painting happily. When done we went to the cashier. She asked if we had a list of our objects painted. No one had come by our table to help or take the list. The cashier had the grace to look embarrassed at the recounting of our events and lack of assistance. After totaling all of our pieces (well over $100.00) she looked even more uncomfortable as she charged the $24.00 service fee. Really? Yes, 3 people at $8.00 each. We were then told we could retrieve our pieces a few days later. When we returned, there was only one group in the shop being assisted by one of the two associates there. The assistant cleaning stated there would be someone there in a moment to help. We waited patiently for about 4 minutes. Finally, the associate that was cleaning (by the way it was the same lady that told us to get the paints off of other tables) came to retrieve our pieces for us. She was not able to find them. The younger assistant asked if they could be on the overflow table. At this point of ridiculous ineptitude, my temper finally flared. Are you kidding me? After all of the crappy service the other day, that you had the f'n balls to charge me $24.00 for, you cannot find our pieces? The older associate snipped at me that they had not lost our pieces. At this point at the suggestion of my daughter I left. I was ok with that because I was done. My daughter really wanted to save the memory of happily painting. She waited another 15 to 20 minutes while they found our pieces, wrapped them and sent her on her way to me. My daughter finally told me they did not glue her pieces on her plate that she created and stated she would do that herself. Worst Service Ever - And You Will Be Charged For It. read more

Terrible experience. After going 2 years ago, we were excited to return. We called before we went to make sure there was enough time. We were told we could arrive by 5pm and they closed at 6 but we could finish up until 630. When we arrived, the staff was rude and seemed irritated we were there. They insisted we needed to be gone by 6pm and promptly reminded us every 10 minutes. After rushing to finish the $300 of pottery we purchased, I requested that they check the lettering so it was straight. When I picked up the pieces, the letters were not straight. They were very defensive and said there was nothing they could do. I asked for a refund, but they said they wouldn't do that and if I wanted to remake it I had to do it then. This is a great idea but both the owner and the staff need to take a class in customer service. Will not return again. read more

We visited Art Cafe in December 2016. We were extremely disappointed by Art Cafe's business practices. Our pottery turned out great and the studio is cute, but I wouldn't feel safe using a credit card at their establishment again. We spent $50 on a couple of pieces of pottery and the 2 painting fees. The cashier asked my husband to sign for the credit card payment and she gave us a receipt that said around $50. Our bank statement read around $60. When we returned to pickup our pieces, we spoke with the lady who rang us up originally and also (I believe to be) the owner or manager. They both shrugged it off and told us that their system automatically adds an additional 15% tip - they can't control it, but that we should have manually changed it on the tablet when we signed. As a GM for a company that deals with iPad payments regularly, that is total crap. They have pre-selected the option of adding a tip of 15% to their transactions. They refunded us the difference, but still claimed that we should have known better and that there is nothing wrong with claiming one price and charging another. We won't be back and if you go there I would recommend asking a LOT of questions. read more
