I learned so much in every single class I took. In university at USF I took a semester of ballet and the teacher complimented my technique as being the best one in the class, all thanks to the wonderful education I received at academy of arts. Now in 2025 my 3 year old daughter is taking classes and is enjoying every class. My mother, daughter and I recently went to the Christmas show and we were so proud to experience the show. It was such a great show, still professional and beautiful. 13 years later and Academy of Arts is still producing wonderful dancers. I highly recommend this studio to all dancers and artists who are eager to learn and perfect their craft.

This is a full dance school that offers: Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Pas De Deux, Lyrical, Tap, Hip-Hop, Flamenco, Modern Dance, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Drama, Piano, Guitar, Violin, and Voice. The faculty is certified and have led professional careers in their respective areas of creative expertise. They begin laying a foundation from the preschool years all the way to young adulthood. And they have both female and male students. They also offer an AfterSchool program and work your child's classes at a mutually suitable schedule. The cost of the classes is comparable to other dance academies. I have enjoyed closely watching the development in my niece, as well as in many of her close friends. I also look forward to their professionally-mounted recitals every year.

    My Schoolhouse - Ms. Donahue

My daughter attended My School House during the 2023-2024 school year. I'm leaving this here…read morebecause they've disabled Google reviews, and I think parents should be aware. In my opinion, the school isn't what it's made out to be. The owner has a strong sales pitch, but the actual curriculum felt very watered down. I tried to set up a parent-teacher conference early on and kept getting the runaround. I also found out that many of the "teachers" are college /highschool students without formal credentials. That alone might be fine, but when I asked about the curriculum, no one could really explain it, and the owner was rarely around. There were also some concerning incidents. One staff member fired a teacher in front of the class while yelling and using inappropriate language, which upset the kids. There was also a situation where a younger student and an older teen locked themselves in a bathroom, and that same teen was later caught watching inappropriate content on a school computer with little supervision. Overall, it just didn't feel like a safe or structured environment. I really hope things have improved, but I wanted to share my experience so other families can make an informed decision. I will never recommend this school to anyone.

I am writing this to share my experience so others are prepared for how things are done... financially. Step Up for Students is a scholarship program that provides students that are enrolled in private school, money towards tuition. It's a great program that is available to anyone that chooses to place their child in private education. In my son's case, we applied and he was awarded $8044 per school year, which is paid quarterly. My schoolhouse charges $1200/month for full time education, so our responsibility to My Schoolhouse is $4000/year plus all the extra fees they charge, which comes up to an additional 1000/ year or more. Anyway, I asked Ms. Donahue if they offer monthly payments for the $4000 balance. I wanted to be able to budget that fee, and I was really clear about it. I am shortening this part a lot- because it took her a while to get it to me-- but she eventually got back to me with a monthly amount of $275/month. Which she was given access to withdrawal monthly via ACH. Ms. Donahue and I kept in contact regarding this, however what she says and what she does are two things entirely. I paid Myschoolhouse $1950 to get my son started in August- since Step up had not funded. I called Step up and they informed me that Ms. Donahue would receive payment of $2044 by Sept 15. This would pay the school for Sept and most of October - and then again- we supplement monthly for the difference. On Sept 7, she sent me a message asking me to approve the funds to be sent from Step up, which I did immediately. She said she will be back in touch in 5 business days to see what the balance is. It was great news- money was on the way to her and I told her to go ahead and charge the account $275 plus the cost of books and shirts. Didn't hear back. 2 days later, on Monday- she sent me a notice that we owe $25 because they went and tried to take $1470 and it was returned. Huh? I have to move money to that account to pay for bills- there wasn't enough in there to cover $1470 and I had no idea she was going to do that. There are many more details to this, but this is the part I want to share. Ms. Donahue tried to get as much money as she possibly could up front. She waited until I approved the funds and then went right ahead and tried to take more money from our account. Once she received the funds from step up, she unenrolled my son from her school. Her mission is to collect as much parent responsibility $ up front and then coast the rest of the year on checks from step up. Which, is a fine plan- if it's discussed! She says one thing and does another. They have received $3961 for 4 weeks of education for my son. Back in 2022, my kids were enrolled in My Schoolhouses tutoring program where we paid about $600/ child each month for after school tutoring. Upon re-enrollment for the following session, Ms. Donahue called to collect my banking information to pay for the first month. There was a credit being issued since we were beginning a few days into the session.. so she said that we have a credit and not be charged for those days. The credit was larger than I expected, which made me ask the question- "how much is tutoring?" In which she replied, "oh, I had to increase my fees due to expenses for the new school". The monthly difference was an *additional* $800/month. If I didn't put 2 and 2 together during that call, she would have never informed me of the increase and charged me for it. Shame on me for thinking it would work out when we had the experience of her not informing us of their increasing fees back then. So, in a nutshell, my schoolhouse has now
