People put so much work and effort into this festival. We totally appreciate it. The things we love about the Florida Renaissance Festival is you feel like you've been lifted out of this regular world into a whole new place and everybody makes that happen that works there. The beautiful ambience of the park the decor all around, the awesome artworks that people create, the costumes. The music is one of my all-time favorites. It's part of the reason why I come here every year. Also you can try so many different types of foods that's always so exciting. I love dressing up, wearing costumes and walking through the park talking with other like-minded people. We enjoyed so many shows this year from the Washing Well Winches, to the guy playing the Bells, all the different Irish bands, like Celtic mayhem, one of my favorites is the band from Italy Rota they are awesome especially when they play in the street and we can dance all around so fun. Also love watch art demonstrations, Thanks again Florida Renaissance Festival for making this year great!

I saw medieval characters, gladiators & knights, pirates, fairies and nymphs, even a wizard! And of course with a costume contest. Quiet Waters Park was converted into a story book. Unique performances with music, comedy, drama, juggling dancing and with interaction like the Maypole. Also jousting and horsriding competitions and cannon & trebuchet firing. There was Archery, Axe throwing, a maze, sword fighting and instruction, cobbling, jewelry making. A variety of activities for kids as well as adults. Especially adults who want to be kids...like me! Lol Souvenir shops with items that you don't see every day, like a dragon egg candle that once melted reveals a baby dragon just like in Game of Thrones! Also good food and drinks throughout the park. I didn't think I would spend that much time here but I spent the entire day practically without even realizing time had passed! A great time to immerse yourself in a world of fantasy, merriment & amazement! I truly enjoyed everything here!

It began at 2 Pm and ended just after 800 with the fireworks show . Many vendors and tables to visit and purchase from locally. I did notice they decided to charge $20 for non residents for the rides to get a wristband and free for residents this year. There was a drama theatre show and some others which I missed. It did rain at one point and they had to clear the field because of the lightning alarms that went off. I was actually about to leave anyway for the day and return later in the evening for the "Hot Hits" band and fireworks show from Zambelli which is always amazing. They situated the tent to eat food and sit down towards the back so not in the middle of everything which was much better. I also noticed a fenced off area from the main stage which seemed weird since it was separated from each side so not many were dancing as it was in the years past and the rain in between put a little damper on it too. Something new this year was a cooking demonstration from the Chef and owner of the restaurant Setto Mezza showing how to make fresh mozzarella. There was a $5 admission for that tent which also included a sample too which was delicious The shuttle bus from casino was available as usual, if not you had to park in the neighborhood because closer parking is for vendors and officials . The regular carnival food was available to purchase throughout the day . Many vendors to visit during the day with some goodies too.

This year residents get to ride for free, non residents pay a $20 entrance fee if they want to go on the rides. The rainy weather put a pause on the events and rides but once it finish the show went on. The fireworks got cut 5 mins short due to the cloudy conditions and limited view of the lights. But overall great experience. See ya next year!

The Pompano Beach Seafood Festival was founded in 1984 by the Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce and…read morethe Pompano Beach Fishing Rodeo to support local charities in the Pompano Beach Area. It began as a two day off-shoot of the Pompano Beach Fishing Rodeo. First held on East Atlantic Blvd. leading up to the beach it started off small but quickly grew. By 1989,the event grew to include concerts on the beach. In 1990 and 1991 it became a three day event separate from the Fishing Rodeo and moved to the last weekend of April when it has been held ever since. In the mid nineties national recording acts were added to the festival. Proceeds from the festival are used to benefit 12 local charities. The new pier and restaurants at the beach have driven the festival inland and it is now held at Community Park. I hate to knock an event that supports charity but this event is completely overpriced. They start draining your wallet before you even hit the door. They were charging $10 to park in the free park where the event was held! My tip is to park across the street at the dog park and walk over. I hesitate to even write that because next year they will catch on and charge there too. Once you hit the gate it is a $20 per adult entrance fee. I have been to many festivals throughout Florida, some even held for charity and this is the only one I know that charges an entrance fee. They spend a lot of time and money gating the event and then having people patrol it. Maybe instead of spending that money, donate that to charity and just let people in. If you are a single person you have just spend $30 before you even stepped inside. I can't imagine that makes people inclined to spend money at the merchandise and food vendors who are paying to be there. Also of note, the music talent was all local so they weren't paying for a national act. This event is pricing out the Pompano community in favor of only the wealthy. With gas prices and the economy what it is I can't fathom their thought process. I know many people who didn't go this year because of the jacked up prices. For instance Papa Hughie's Seafood World was one of the festival vendors. You can just save yourself $30 and get a good meal at the restaurant down the street. I wish they would consider going back to their roots and stage a more affordable festival.

The Coconut Creek's Womens club has craft vendors selling a variety of items for holiday gift giving, police outreach, bounce houses, crafts, and children's activities, entertainment on the stage, photo opportunities, and food trucks. At night they had a huge blow up screen showing the FSU versus Notre Dame football game. Parking is always a pain when Coconut Creek holds a festival here and there are 3 good sized parking lots. They generally have a shuttle bus running from Monarch High School but I came later in the evening and they let me park on site. If you live in the surrounding Winston Park neighborhood you really luck out by being able to walk over. This festival is a great gathering point for the community of Coconut Creek. I don't think it's one of those type of events that draws a lot of people from outside of the community. The real fun of this event is that if you live here you are likely to bump into people you know so you can catch up with them. My friend in Parks and Recreation plans the events for the city so it was fun to run into her. I also saw some of my students who attend my school and other people I haven't seen in a while. This festival has a great hometown feel that reminds me why I love living in Coconut Creek so much.

This review is for the 2014 Deerfield Beach Food and Wine Festival Grand Tasting…read more I would have liked to give it 3 1/2 stars. Since I couldn't, I stuck with three stars. This is the third year my husband and I have gone to this festival. This year it was 1/3 the size of the last two years. Last year there was a lot of restaurants giving out food. This year, not so many. Several of the restaurants that were there gave out very small servings. There was plenty of wine and one table had beer. Since there was 2/3 fewer restaurants giving out food you'd think the admission price would have gone down. If you thought that you'd be wrong. Even with the internet half price discounts the price was higher then the discounted prices last year. Not many people came. Fewer people meant short lines, sometime no lines. Also, I didn't see that any tables had run out of food. The Good 1. The entertainment was terrific. Wonderful band. 2. The grounds crew did a great job. They were everywhere emptying trash cans and picking up debris. 3. There were trash cans all over the place. It really helped knowing where to throw trash. 4. Very short lines and most of the time there were no lines. 5. For people who wanted to drink something other then wine, there was beer, and Onli was giving away their delicious soft drinks. Also there was plenty of free bottled water. 6. Lots of free parking. 7. Plenty of places to sit. There were tables, chairs, benches, and couches. It was great to sit with a glass of wine and listen to the entertainment. The Bad 1. Not many restaurants there compared to previous years. 2. Some of the servings were very small, although you could go back for more. 3. Not much, if anything, in the way of high end food. 4. I only found one can for recycling. If there were more I didn't see them. 5. The price went up from previous years and you were given less. It doesn't make sense. I'm not sorry we went. It was a nice evening. But, for what I spent for myself and my husband, $130, we could have gone out for a good meal with a few glasses of wine.

We purchased $100 worth of food & drink tickets thinking it was going to be an abundance of different food vendors with "craft like" food and beer as the website implied. Ummmmm heck no. Never will go again. It reminds me of a vendor fair with cheap goods. The wine vendors were people who didn't even know the products they had. Most of the wine bottles were opened with screw on caps. Not exactly my idea of a good wine time! I only saw 2 vendors with beer! I came specifically for the implied variety of craft beer selections. Nope. Nada. The food was not even mediocre. Limited choices. The best thing I purchased out there was my water and Italian ice! Oh and one actually delicious thing was this "pie in a jar" from Papa Cherry or www.papacherryinajar.com. Gahh now that I type it out, sounds dirty, but the dessert was good and I think a genuine dad coming up with a recipe lol. Well lesson learned...stick to food/beer/wine festivals you're familiar with and obviously located in towns/cities where quality matters!
