My boys really enjoyed the list of things to look for while exploring. On the list we found bugs, butterflies, lizards, flowers and a few more. The garden has a few shady spots that were much needed for a break from the heat. They also have a little section of music instruments to play. We didn't get to try them but someone was playing a beautiful melody while we were there. When we were done exploring the beautiful garden we headed back to the visitor center. The boys both got stickers for completing their activities list. Inside the visitor center they also sell some beautifully crafted cups, soaps, honey and other trinkets. My boys picked out a few toys and I go their honey. The honey is actually really delicious.

It was always a great way to spend some outdoor time and get fresh air. The new building in the botanical garden is incredible and 100% community funded! That means the volunteers and donors of this space fully own everything! With zero government red tape, they're able to fast track art events, adult ED classes, garden parties, and create jobs for the community. The new building is beautiful and comes with a small gift shop, selling local artist pieces, indoor meeting/recreation area, and an shaded outdoor patio. The patio is public and available for anybody who is walking the trail. We actually ate our lunch here, before walking the botanical garden trail for a nature scavenger hunt. They also cleaned up a few of the trails and opened up a few more areas for outdoor events. This is a great addition to the Clovis community and if you haven't been yet, get yourself here and support this beautiful botanical garden!

I went to the strawberry festival last year, and there was everything for sale - except for strawberries. For this festival, they did a tremendous job with the theme, seating arrangements and food options. There were plenty of Greek food options to choose from , and the lines went pretty quickly. However, the food fell flat in my opinion. The rice pilaf was bland, the pita bread was not good , and the meats were just OK. I felt the prices weren't out of line, but there was nothing I tried that was better than any other restaurants in the area. The Church was beautiful, and the setup was perfect. I just wish the food tasted better.

I enjoyed a yummy salad and some naan. The portions were perfect and the prices just right. My husband enjoyed the french fries. Oh boy, there were a pile of them! I enjoyed my favorite orange Espa drink and everyone else got water. The festival is cashless like most businesses these days. It was no problem finding a spot for lunch, there were lots of tables set up and we enjoyed the live music playing. She speaks to you in a very dismissive tone and makes you feel unwelcome, I understand we are not members however to treat potential members this way is unprofessional. Karen made the atmosphere so gross and unwelcoming that we chose to simply leave the studio without glazing our pieces because she seemed to have an issue with everything we did. I wont ever consider joining or recommend this studio to anyone simply because of this unfortunate interaction with Karen.

Sorensen Art Studio sits at the very fringe of Fresno, at the very end of Van Ness, up against the…read morerailroad tracks. Once a large warehouse operation, the building has been cut up into various spaces for artists of all kinds. And just as the building sits on the fringe, some of the art is on the fringe, too. You can find traditional watercolors and mosaics. You can view fabric artists at work. You can see photography of all stripes. And meet the photographers and hear their stories of various photos. For a long while, Sorensens has been opened to the public only on Art Hop First Thursdays, and that's not too bad during the late spring, summer, early fall months, when it's still pretty light out there next to the railroad tracks, on roads that have no stoplights, among many other large, perhaps abandoned buildings. There is just a frisson of danger. But that has changed. Chris Sorensen has turned the building and grounds over to a new manager who is going to have the place open every week, Thursday through Saturday, daylight hours--10 to 3. Meet the artists, experience their workspace, see their art, and best of all, buy a piece of local artwork. Fresno has a great community of artists. Let's support them.

Another studio full of different artists. Sometimes arthop here is fun, sometimes a bit dull. Seems…read morelike they have a bit of turnover of artists renting space and closed rooms. Some styles are "different" and seem to be in an experimenting stage. The rooms that are open are small and cramped if more than a couple of people are inside, and it seems to be a day when their buddies come to visit so you end up just poking your head in, and if you do walk in, you might not be acknowledged because they are catching up with their friends.
