There were two artisan crafts : the intricate jewelry and a sword forging demonstration I saw the same designs of metallic jewelry at a gas station : identical packaging, price and heft, so it seemed like still something mass produced, but these bear a product stamp that certifies them as originally made in Portugal. Got a chef's knife and decorative handled knife for my son and son in law. Jewelry is also quite intricately crafted, inlaid or filigree style. A copy of your passport is useful for recovering the VAT tax refund if you can find one at the local airport, that is! Juvi has zero online presence, so couldn't contact by social media, email, WhatsApp, etc. Did end up calling. Asked if someone spoke English. They hung up on me. Kept trying. They stopped answering the phone. Finally contacted my credit card company-they will look into it. Still fighting UPS on the customs fees. Knives were nice, but if I had to do it over again, I just would not have bothered. Costing me more than I would have paid for knives in US.

I told them this is not legal and they ignored me. I told them to cancel the transaction, they refused. And while I have no expectation as tourist in another country that the sales people speak English, the sales person was able to speak English while helping me shop. She conveniently stopped speaking English when I showed her my receipt with the statement that I was given the option between US dollars and euros (which I was not given). Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere in Toledo.

When I disputed it with my credit card company, they denied it. Stay away from Moreno Fernandez in Toledo. They are dishonest.
