What a gorgeous old villa turned into a beautiful hotel. Art Hotel Agape sits on a hilltop overlooking Florence -- and it just might be the most beautiful view of the city. The Garden is stunning, with sculptured boxwoods, roses blooming, water features and those ubiquitous ceder trees. The room was gorgeous, comfortable, quiet. I loved the Eicher 3-dimensional tile in the entry way. The La Duchessa Restaurant was memorable with several Tuscan menu options. All freshly prepared, beautiful to look at and very tasty. Service exceptional. Very good Tuscan wine selections by the glass and bottle. Impressive breakfast buffet included in the room price. Fresh fruits, pastries, meats, cheeses, breads, hot coffee, tea, juices all on a buffet for you to enjoy. Everyone working here spoke very good English and did everything they could to be helpful, kind and answer questions. An on-call Shuttle service runs to a couple of plazas where you have access to the historic center of Florence. A most enjoyable stay. read more

This hotel is simply breath taking. The views are outstanding and you feel as if you're in the hills of Tuscany. I would highly recommend staying here a night or two while in Florence. Breakfast is included and it is an elegant buffet style. Grab your breakfast and sit out in the garden for a relaxing start to your day. You may find yourself never wanting to leave! The hotel offers a free shuttle to three different stops into the city which is great since a taxi into the city center can cost you a few euros. The shuttle will also pick you up and you simply call when ready. All of the drop off/pick up points are very close to the must see sites. My favorite part of the hotel (outside of the romantic decor) was the wine card! You can pick up the card at the front desk, it is preloaded with 50 euros, and use it to taste the wines in the hotel (yes- they have an amazing Brunello). You simply pay for what you used at check out! The staff was very friendly and willing to help answer all questions you may have about Florence! I loved the stay here. read more

This is a beautiful hotel, what I want to rave about is its restaurant. We had dinner at the hotel's restaurant La Duchessa Firenze when we stayed at Art Hotel Villa Agape. The food was surprisingly delectable. We ordered "Tuna T'Attakki Violet Creams Lemon Grass Parsnip Pak Choi" and "Florentine Steak", and both were cooked to perfection and superbly flavorful. The quality of the food compares favorably with any restaurants that we visited and are rated 4-5 stars on various lists. read more

Really enjoyed the hotel. The service, food and rooms were exceptional. The grounds were well maintained. They make their own olive oil and honey on property and have a nice bar, restaurant for dinner, breakfast and excellent wine selection and wine room. Really nice and pleasant stay at this hotel! It is a bit farther from the city, but they have a great shuttle system from 9-1pm then 3-10pm. The hotel location is beautiful! It overlooks the Tuscan hill! The breakfast was great too! There is also two hot tubs which was a nice perk! read more

This is a must stay. We have stayed in a lot of great places in our travels through Europe and this is definitely in the top tier. From the moment we checked in we were made to feel at home. There are no words to describe the beauty of the grounds. The service is outstanding, the staff very friendly and accommodating and the breakfast and evening appetizers are the best we've had. My favorite thing about the hotel however was the room. We had a ground floor room with a patio overlooking the beautiful views of Tuscany accompanied at all times by the beautiful sounds of birds singing. We slept better in this hotel than in any other in our travels and will definitely be coming back. read more

I love everything about this hotel! This hotel is perfect for a couple who loves peace and tranquility. This old building from the 1400s with beautiful garden on a 7 acre property is the answer to my Florence/Tuscany getaway. The courtyard is very romantic. Everything is clean and updated. Free breakfast and wifi are a definite plus. The location is out of the city center about 10-15 min drive but the shuttle runs very efficiently on call. Everyone is friendly and helpful.
