We ended up withdrawing our daughter after several situations where we felt Christian values were not shown in how things were handled. When we brought concerns to administration, there was very little resolution, despite the emphasis on "collaboration." Our daughter had surgery during the same month the remaining balance was due. I tried to go in once to pay, but it was during a fire drill and I was told I'd need to come back. We were also contacted repeatedly while working, which was stressful. Then the balance was sent to collections by January. We truly do pray for the school and the families who are there... but this experience was extremely disappointing.

My son went there for 2 years, GREAT EXPERIENCE!!! Mrs. McCool was AMAZING. My son loved her so much, moving on to the 4 year old class he still stopped by every day to tell her hi. Mrs waudby was also amazing as my son had a bit of a hard time going to school in his second year, she was so patient and did a great job making him feel comfortably leaving me for the school day. They are both so sweet and patient with the little ones. A lot of preschools seem to be more like daycares, but mini school is more like a classroom Setting and school time like you would have in kindergarten. They learn a lot everyday, do projects, play outside, have snack, and dance party's! It was a great way for my son to learn to be around other kids, make friends and socialize. They welcome parents to come in anytime to check in or watch what class is like, there is no hiding anything from parents which is important. I think with a combination of the two years in Mini School and keeping up the learning at home, this is why my son did so well in kindergarten and ended up Exceeding his grade level. Whenever I come to this playground it brings me back to my innocent youth; tetherball in first recess, red rover and kickball in afternoon intermission (what it was called before recess). A lot of the learning is done outside the classroom and on the playground. This playground is, as Donald Tremp says, "huge". Lots of area to learn. I don't anymore, but I miss the days where I used to be a recess safety officer (duty). I was able to tell all the children to be safe and make them listen to my stories of my youth. Now it was brought to my attention that a "Mr. Jason" who is employed at Lincoln has in some form been encouraging and/or ignoring the issues. I would not send your children to this school until they get better staffing (if you have the option). After having this issue I also spoke with 2 other parents that have recently pulled their children out of Lincoln for similar problems! Never is it acceptable as an adult; especially working at a school (who should be setting a proper example) to tell a 6 year old that they deserved to be punched in the face by another student. They refuse to do anything about the bullying, and employee bullies at that. Not to mention they are obviously not adequately watching our children.

I've yet to meet a person not dedicated fully to all of the kids at Union. It is a wonderful community to be a part of. Volunteering or finding a way to have a presence is important to being active here. The partnership with Cascadia Tech has been an amazing opportunity so far as well. There are a plethora of clubs, activities and sports to add on to the many academic opportunities. It was the best choice we ever made, moving so our kids could go here. GO TITANS!!
