I visited the office for the first time for a second opinion after I was told from a different dentist that I needed work on many of my teeth, which I questioned as I never miss a routine check-up. Dr. Munar and his staff were prompt, professional, compassionate, and intelligent. I was taken in right at the time of my appointment and they used advanced technology to determine the health of my teeth. Dr. Munar asked questions and truly listened. He determined that I needed less work than I was told by the 1st dentist and he had the technology and evidence to prove it. Not to mention my out of pocket cost estimate was FAR CHEAPER with Dr. Munar than what the first dentist told me. When I went in for my scheduled appointment for the dental work, Dr. Munar and Patty, his assistant, were BEYOND compassionate, patient, kind, and QUICK. I do not do well with being in the dentist chair and Dr. Munar and Patty both were able to reassure me of what we were doing and made sure that I felt in control and relaxed. Patty even brought me a blanket to use as the room got cold and my appointment was long for the work I was having done. Dr. Munar has an OUTSTANDING office - clean space, comfortable, friendly, compassionate, up-to-date with technology, problem solving mentality, and intelligent.... my list can go on and on about how wonderful they are. If I can give them zero I would I live 20 minutes away from the dental office and I called and let them know my son has cavities and I arrive all they did was clean his teeth and told me to go somewhere else to get his cavities done that day. If I could give him zero stars I would. I got some work done by Dr. Munar when I was in high school and all the work that he did (one cavity, 2 root canals and 2 crowns) were done improperly and have caused me many issues down the road. The cavity done incorrectly caused the top of my tooth to fracture off and decay underneath the cavity to form. With the root canals, it is necessary to fill the entire canal all the way down to the bottom as to avoid infection or disease. Dr. Munar likes to take the easy way out and left about 1/4 of both my canals unfilled. I've had to get both root canals and both crowns in that area re-done. I've seen 4 dentists since my experience with Dr. Munar and they've all agreed and pointed out that his work was was shoddy work. I've not one to typically complain or leave bad reviews but please please please go elsewhere for your dental work. If not, you'll end up having to pay for it later down the line. He's just a terrible and extremely greedy dentist with little to no concern for the well-being of his patients. I regret ever have stepping foot into his office. read more

My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Munar for many years. One time he broke the drill bit in her tooth, so he sent us to another office in Hinsdale to remove it. We ended up paying $250 for the other dentist just to correct his mistake. For many years, I never canceled any appointment without an advance notice. And when I had an emergency situation at work, and I couldn't call, they informed me that I have to pay $75 charges even though I did not confirm the appointment by sending C as a text message. I remember that in 2006 when I first started visiting this office, I signed a knowledge of $25 fee for cancellation but they told me that I signed a knowledge of $75 later and that is not true, because when they updated their office and they set up a pc instead of paper for patient info, they asked me to update the info and the address on file without saying that I am signing a new agreement. I went to reattach my bridge but he ended up doing other stuff like cleaning, deep cleaning with so many charges before he even start working on the reason of the visit. If you are looking for a fancy office, pc applications,you will get that at this place but no wonder he is charging people $75 for cancellation. But if you are looking for a professional and confident dentist, do not go to this office! read more

I saw Dr. Munar for 2-3 years about 15 years ago. There were a few things that made me distrustful. The first was when I called in (more than 24 hours in advance) to let them know I had the flu- I could come in but didn't want to risk infecting anyone there. They told me to not come in and rescheduled. I was later charged out of pocket for the full appointment and informed that their policy is 48 hours in advance. Later, I ordered a night guard, and was charged the full price in advance, because insurance would not pay for it. Later I got the insurance statement that specified a $300 discount. I had to call the office to ask about it, and they agreed to apply it. When I saw no signs of the refund after a couple of months, they said they had applied it as a credit to the account towards future services. I told them I wanted the refund (insurance pays the majority of routine dental care). They said it would take thee months to process. In the end, I waited over six months to get it back- if someone had been nearly that late with a payment, they would have been sent to collections! He was constantly trying to upswell me on cosmetic services for minor imperfections. The final straw was a cavity he filled: it recently came out and the entire tooth is damaged. I now have to get a crown. This is the only filling I have ever had a problem with! read more

I just had, believe it or not, a very good dental experience. Dr. Munar has to be the best dentist this side of the Mississippi. If he's not currently your dentist, do yourself a favor and contact his office. I just had a root canal and crown performed and Dr. Munar's skills are the best I've experienced. He uses some very high tech equipment especially the equipment used to create the crown. He is also very good at using this equipment making it very beneficial to the patient. His assistants are also excellent. His office is a very friendly comfortable place. Believe me, do yourself a favor. For your next dental visit contact Dr. Munar. I'M STILL AMAZED. read more
