I used to drive all the way downtown Chicago because I thought I couldn't get adequate care closer to my own home. I have OCD and am very picky about everything and tend to fixate on minor issues. I needed a last minute Orthodontist appt, and google searches led me to NuWave. I have found a new home with Dr. Anas Najjar (Ortho) and Dr. Ahmad Najjar (Dentistry). They both completely changed my mind about the care I was receiving. I have completely switched over to be under their care, and now drive less than 20 minutes to my appointments. They both are incredible at their craft, care about their patients, and have great personalities. I have come in panicked about small issues, and they never cease to calm me down and make whatever I was worried about perfect. They work in tandem with and recommend fantastic specialists - ie: periodontist. Everyone from the front desk staff to the assistants are all welcoming, kind, and professional. I went in for a cleaning and was given documentation that they submitted to my insurance and my entire cleaning was accepted and covered by insurance minus my copay. I then receive a bill in the mail stating I owe $800 because my insurance didn't accept it even though the document given to me states the amount proposed to insurance and the amount accepted which was going to cover everything. So if the front desk did their job correctly and submitted it before my cleaning and not after they would have seen my insurance wasn't going to cover everything. I highly recommend you stay away from this place if you don't wanna receive a bill in the mail at a later date stating you owe said amount of $. read more

I am a Senior and I had a minor problem with my Implant done in India. They charged me $75 for initial consultation, which is reasonable. After examination for a very minor job they wanted $675.00 for a task which is just to tighten the screw back in to a position. This task will take hardly 15 to 20 minutes. There is no new material or screws required, just to screw back they wanted $675, could which are already existing. This is an outrageous charge, The whole implant procedure for me in India cost was less than this. I tried to negotiate and they came down to $450 for a 20 minutes service without any cost of material. I walked out and did not take the service. The dental cost is outrageous in US and not sure how seniors who live in limited Social security income could afford the dental care. I understand Medicare is not providing any Dental care and the American dental association is lobbying against dental care by Medicare. read more

I called for a price for cleaning and what is provided with a cleaning. I was told they offer a package with 2 cleanings + X-rays throughout the year for $299 but then explained to them I am about to move so I doubt I'd be able to enjoy the package. I was then told a single cleaning + X-ray would be $315. What a joke! From the other reviews on Yelp it seems I certainly dodged a bullet. read more

Two things caused this one this one star review. The first was that we were billed $500 dollars because "deep cleans weren't covered by your insurance", which when I called my insurance they were. Second, the root canal done on my wife ended up infected because it was not done properly at the place this location recommended. When my wife told them she was still experiencing pain, the dentist dismissed it, did not do a follow up X-Ray, and told her "the nerve is gone there so you shouldn't have pain". When an X-Ray was done at the new dental office we go to, it turns out not all of the root was removed which explains the infection. We switched to a new dental location, and I suggest everyone avoid this place. read more

My service was done with DR. HALA ELKHADRA - very nice, very kind/patient, never rushed my services and explained everything fully (except that my implant wouldn't be permanent). I googled this location after seeing it listed as in-network with my insurance. It was super pretty and clean which pulled me in, the esthetics are there! I got a cleaning, x-rays, and consult for dental work I've always wanted to get but never found a dentist to do the work (finding a competent, experienced, and educated dentist in Illinois is hard, finding 1 who only focuses on being a dentist and not a dentist specializing in mostly teeth whitening and lip botox, is even harder - plus the location has to have parking). Once she explained that she could extract a tooth that needed to be removed and give me an implant, I was sold. Everything went as expected, removal went fine. I wore a flipper until the gum portion of the implant healed, no issues. This is when things went downhill. I went in for the implant, Dr. Elkhadra put the implant in and it was done - until the tooth fell out in my sleep. It seems like it was just applied with some kind of glue - I called and got an appointment to come back in. When I arrived, Dr. Elkhadra wasn't in, the receptionist told me she would be out and that another doctor would assist me. All the appointments I had up to that point, the only person I'd see is the receptionist and Dr. Elkhadra, no other doctors but, no big deal, I guess. The doctor was a guy who seemed eager to help me. I explained everything, he put the tooth back in my mouth, this time by screwing it in (this isn't what was done initially). I was expecting for this to be temporary and for Dr. Elkhadra to call me to come back in for the permanent "fix", never happened. So, the screwing in the tooth, was the permanent application of my implant, I had no idea. I didn't like the way it looked or felt but I told myself, maybe it just needs to grow on you, it is something new. Time went on and even though the tooth never fell out again, it never grew on me. Since this experience wasn't 1 I'd hope for such a permanent and highly visible ordeal, when it was time for my bi-annual cleaning I found another dentist. The new dentist did x-rays, cleaning, etc... He let me know, the implant is the wrong size, shape, color, and not in the right place (too close to the neighboring tooth). I can look in the mirror and see the same. So disappointed in this experience, every time I look in the mirror I wonder what I could've done to choose a better experience. Now that I have this implant, my insurance will not cover to remove it and for a new/correct implant, I would have to pay out of pocket (only pays once per lifetime for this work). Now, I'm trying to learn to just deal with it or save thousands to get it fixed. I had 2 consults and both dentist said the same thing, "who put this in, it's wrong". They both quoted me between $10-$15k for the removal of the implant, healing flipper, and proper re-implant with correct device. For 1 tooth!! TL;DR: Ok for basic cleanings, don't get any permanent work or implants done here unless you want an implant that is the wrong color, size, shape, and placement. read more

I've been made to feel like a infantile crook today at the dentist, and it's insulting and infuriating. I have been a patient at this clinic for over a year. I brought my 11-year-old here too before. Today, I came in for a cleaning and check up, before leaving on a vacation tomorrow. I was also informed I had a balance of $320 due to an insurance issue. A balance I probably wouldn't owe at all, if NuWave's initial billing was done properly. Since the moment I was told I had a pending balance, I was repeatedly reprimanded, which made me feel like a child so all i did was keep apologizing. It got really excessive after I was done with the doctor and the cleaning; when the front desk billing clerk took over. Guessing from his patronizing demeanor he prejudged me long before talking to me. He kept talking down to me, as I tried scheduling an appointment because the dentist insisted I had to get it done ASAP and it was a priority. But the front desk clearly didn't get the memo about my health being a priority because, eventually i was straight up told not to even bother scheduling anything, unless I'm prepared to pay close to $900 out of pocket on that day. read more

Excellent dental experience from start to finish. I have not been to a dentist since before Covid so I needed to be seen. NuWave dental had appointments within 1 day, new patient forms were online and my insurance was verified before I got there. Julia is a top notch hygienist. She details everything that is going on, she is very friendly and works silently with the dentist. I loved it. Dr. Salah is a master dentist. His comprehensive skills are completely gentle. My wife and I have Dental HMO and received great services from 4/2020 - 2/6/2021. We paid our balances at the time services were rendered. Imagine my surprise when Mid-2022 we received the last two pages of a ten page statement in the mail stating we owe $551.90!!! When I called I was told the Billing Manager was out for the day. One of the dentists called later on based upon my previous one star yelp review and I discussed how SHOCKED I was to receive this incomplete notice and requested the other 8 pages of the statement (which I never received). I was also told there was a billing issue and that is what I owed. HMO works pretty simply. You look up the services performed in the book and deduct from the total balance which equals what I paid. My wife and I have paid over $3,750 out of pocket. I have never heard anything more from NuWave Dental regarding any balance due. Now today, I received a Debt Collector Notice. This is NOT the way to do business. read more

I took my daughter here a couple of years ago when we first moved to Illinois and she needed a new dental exam to start school. When I made the appointment I informed them that she has severe sensory processing disorder and anxiety and asked if they were used to working with these issues. I was assured they were. When we get there the receptionist was very nice but I don't have awful enough words to use for the other staff. They had no patience for my daughter (who was 7!) and repeatedly lost their tempers at her I told them that she couldn't handle the flavor of mint because strong flavors were one of her triggers. I was met with "too bad, they don't make other flavors" which any parent knows isn't true. The receptionist had to come back and tell the technicians to chill out and to try to help me calm my daughter. The dentist came out and corrected them and said they had plenty of kid flavors for the cleaning but the damage was done. These ladies were insanely rude and awful to a special needs child. They rolled their eyes repeatedly and never apologized. read more

I am so happy with this place! I recently moved back to the area and needed a new dentist. After calling around, it was impossible to get a new patient appointment within 3 months! I saw NuWave had opened their doors, so I decided to give them a try. So happy I did! I was seen within a week AND so was my husband. My visit was quick, efficient and very professional. The staff is very friendly and incredibly helpful, especially Dawn! I had to follow-up with 2 more appointments back to back.
