I've had my fair share of fillings, some of which were deeply decayed, but never had a bad experience during the fillings. I've ground some teeth down with my constant clenching, but the crown procedure was no big deal. And lastly, this week, I had to get my first root canal. I'll be honest, this was the first time I was kind of scared, due to the negative image root canals have. Just do a quick google search for root canal and I'm sure some of the top results talk about the "horrific pain" the patients felt. After undergoing the process with Dr. Ryan at the helm, the only real discomfort I felt was having to keep my jaw open for a few hours. Nothing compared to the crazy stuff you'll read online. I'm going to be moving out of state in a few months, but I definitely plan on going back to IL to get all my dental work done here. They excel in their work and Jill, the receptionist, goes above and beyond in helping with insurance, billing, scheduling, settling down a nervous patient, you name it. They might be a little archaic in terms of their lack of online presence, but it's because Dr. Ryan is a no frills dentist who cares firstly about his patients and not the number of seats he can fill. I'd be hesitant to go to any of these dentists on yelp who offer discounts for good reviews or gift card deals because they can't let their work speak for them. So if you're sick of feeling pain at the dentist, or looking for excuses to cancel last minute, just give Dr. Ryan a shot and you won't regret it.

This lady recommended that I try Grove Dental. I did call Grove, got an immediate appointment and am scheduled for an extraction. I am so far, very happy with Grove, however, should that feeling change, I know that I will be seeing Dr. Ryan. So when a cracked tooth called for an extraction and implant I needed to have the best and I found the best in Dr. Denemark for this procedure. Dr. Denemark and his team of professionals made an 1hr long procedure feel like 30 minutes and with no pain during or post surgery. I highly recommend the product he recommended called "Nu Calm". To be brief, you are asked to chew a few tablets, then a set of Bose headphones are placed on your head and classical music is played; within minutes you are in a calm and meditated state during the surgery and will feel no pain during or post surgery. I truly am surprised that more Dentists are not using Nu Calm. I would also like to recommend Dr. Michael Morgan of Hinsdale (Smiles by Morgan). Great guy and a great dentist.
