My experience with staff such as Tacci Smith made learning here especially difficult. She frequently used incorrect pronouns for students and contributed to an environment that felt exclusionary and insensitive, which negatively affected the campus climate. She encouraged a student to harass me through text many times. Tuition is inflated so they can offer a supposedly "generous" financial aid package--most of which is simply compensation for the work students are required to perform. Academically, the campus falls short. Many professors lack true depth of knowledge in their subject areas, which is evident in programs like computer science, where instruction is consistently inadequate. I didn't learn how to write in MLA or APA7 until I transferred out of this "college". It is also concerning that this school offers degrees such as outdoor leadership but lacks any programs leading to licensure, including education or nursing. Students end up paying more than $25,000 a year for a liberal arts degree with credits that often do not transfer, pressuring them to remain at WWC to finish. In addition, the campus lacks ideological and ethnic diversity. The environment fosters a performative student body more focused on appearing loud and "socially aware" than on making meaningful change. Overall, WWC is definitely a degree mill where students learn nothing for a big price.

While I have good memories here and the students are very LGBTQ centered, the school does very…read morelittle to put effort into accommodating their students and also are not very good at organization. Hurricane Helene definitely has a bit to do with it but they also had issues before. If you want to go to this college, I'm not sure I'd recommend it. Limited class options, the dorms are not nice and honestly I've never seen a college with worse dorms than Warren Wilson. There's no parking and you walk a lot. They put a large emphasis on in person learning so if you're sick or have an emergency basically you're screwed.

I personally attended Montessori as a child and felt immediately at home when we initially toured AMS in 2022 for our then almost three yr old. We ended up taking a mid-year spot days after he turned 3 and were welcomed into the school and immediately felt like we'd found the perfect place. Our son was shy at first and the teachers and staff worked with him (and us) to ease into a preschool environment. We have always had wonderful experiences with the staff at AMS, great teachers and admin. My kids are always so well cared for and look forward to going. My son was more than prepared for the transition to public school both socially and academically. Watching him learn to read at AMS has been a huge part of this, I felt like part of the journey as the teachers led us all through the journey of becoming a reader. As a parent volunteer at the school, I always feel welcomed and helpful. It's really special to be able to go into the classroom and see the magic happen. I've found friends in the other parents either through play dates with our kids and school events. The community is incredibly special and I feel lucky to be part of it along with my kids. We've been part of the school for 5 years through both kids and I have had my own transitions from being a mostly stay at home mom, to working part time, and working full time. AMS easily supported our family through each of these. We started as a half day family and then transitioned to full time and then added in aftercare. Everything was seamless with each of these transitions for us as parents and for our kids. Thank you AMS for being the perfect preschool for our family.

My kids have been attending AMS for a total of 6 years now. During that time they have been loved,…read morenurtured and treated with respect while learning to respect others. They have learned how to use practical life in their play. They have learned how to problem solve, to be independent and to communicate kindly with friends and adults. I spend a good deal of time in the classroom and hallway as a reading volunteer and never have I heard a raised voice, a yell from an adult or a disparaging remark to a child. Teachers are firm with their boundaries and gentle with their words.

Everytime anyone tried to record he would force everyone to put their phones in this basket or he would call the principal and the school resource officer to arrest them. Everytime someone tried to record him he knew. He kept verbally harassing these black kids and making up accusations to make them look bad and making up excuses to not teach the class. He kept sending them to suspension at random times when he felt like. He would set up his own private cameras to watch them in the bathroom and in the classroom. One time he loudly threatened to send one of the innocent black girls to guantamo bay. one time one of the black girls he was terrorizing everyday was crying and screaming for help. that week she wasnt seen in class. One time, the biology teacher said his name wasnt his real name. and another time he loudly admitted in class that he was watching all the black kids walk to their homes through the satellites. One time while he was harassing black kids he forced everyone to look forward at the white board and made them not pay attention. And he stood in front of me and made me look at his deck. He saw that I felt uncomfortable and he liked it and laughed. i was afraid to stand up for the black kids and afraid to report everyone involved. I am still traumatized by all of these events to this day.
