My husband, Jim, and I started dancing at Cary Arthur Murray (CAM) in January 2016. Just a year later we are pretty good (I would say) at a variety of dances, such as Foxtrot, Rumba, Club Swing/Hustle and Salsa. YES I still cannot believe I can Salsa!!!! My girlfriend and I have been going the Cary Arthur Murray since the beginning of the year. I bought a lesson package for her as a Christmas gift and we have been going ever since. The staff is wonderful. They are funny, energetic, and patient. Yes patient. They must be to have put up with teaching a person with two left feet like me to dance. This studio is wonderful! My husband and I started lessons about a year before our wedding. The staff at Cary Arthur Murray were able to choreograph a special routine for our first dance, in addition to teaching us other dances we could use at our reception and for the rest of our lives. My husband and I started lessons at Cary Arthur Murray about 9 months before the first of 2 weddings in the family. I was on board, but my husband was reluctant. We had the opportunity to take private lessons from David, but we made sure we took advantage of the INCLUDED group lessons which were taught by all the staff members. I started at CAM last June and have loved my entire experience. I have gotten to work with multiple different teachers to work different techniques/styles. The Friday night dance parties are a great way to connect with the other students and to just dance for fun. The instructors have pushed me to be a better dancer through showcases and events so I can truly grow. They are great at listening to you purpose and matching your lessons to it. My wife and I cruise a lot and love watching people dance, and decided not to be wallflowers anymore. I signed up for a few Living Social promos in the triangle and tried several places..and decided that Cary Arthur Murray was the place that I would invest time and money to learn how to dance in a variety of settings. This dance school has very friendly instructors who are talented dancers and excellent teachers. There is such a welcoming atmosphere here that anyone would feel comfortable dancing, even if they are new to it. All of the students are friendly and are there to have fun. This is a place where anyone can feel comfortable learning to dance. I purchased an intro set of lessons as a gift for my husband fully expecting that to be the last of it. But he LOVED IT and I did too. So we enrolled in a set of newcomer lessons and after that a set of Bronze lessons. We are having the time of our life. The instructors are great and friendly and the place is nice to go to...plenty of floor space and mirrors to check your form. We have a great deal of say in where we wish to focus our efforts. I LOVE the dance instruction AND the warm welcome I always get at Cary Arthur Murray Studio. I got involved after being asked to help with the "dancing Like the Stars" fund-raising event for the National Inclusion Project and I never looked back. Love dancing here! My husband and I started a year ago here and have learned so much! I especially like their teaching system. You learn to do a certain step in one style of dance, and then they show you how you can do it in many other styles. For instance, we learned a turn in Swing, and turned around and used it in Rumba, and Cha Cha, and Waltz too!
