Dancers whose parents were heavily involved were prioritized over talent or effort. In one routine, I had less than an eight-count of actual dance but still paid full costume and competition fees. When my mother raised concerns, Nancy (owner at the time) brushed her off and said I "needed to be a team player." Competitions were also mishandled -- rehearsal hours were underreported to place dancers in lower divisions for a competitive advantage. After posting my Google review, Planet Dance dismissed it as "misinformation." I emailed the studio asking what was inaccurate and received no reply. I've attached that email and video clips showing Meghan harshly criticizing dancers and enforcing excessive conditioning -- this was a regular, belittling environment. To the owners: refusing to acknowledge concerns doesn't erase what happened. Planet Dance wasn't just a studio -- it was a huge part of my childhood. Trauma doesn't have a timeline. I see it every day in my old photos and memories. Nobody can tell me how to feel or when to stop speaking on it. If you think I'll stay quiet, you're wrong. I have every right to tell my story.

The studio is nice and clean and all the teachers have been really friendly. I can't wait until they have their first recital. At first I thought it was going to cost a lot to get her dance lessons, but Dance Moves is very affordable. The fee is only $50 a month and that includes one class per week. The first month is $70 because it includes a $20 registration fee.

I think they have a good system of where they have stations split up and have modifiers for people who can't perform certain exercises. The class I took was fun, good coach and friendly staff. While I don't see myself spending that much money monthly for a gym like this, I do respect what they do and that the people who work their are genuine and create an environment that helps people feel comfortable and challenging. We arrived promptly at our scheduled time and no one was present. We called the number and the manager/owner who takes care of bookings answered. She advised us that another party cancelled so she told her staff to "bounce." She said she would call us back. After five minutes we tried to call her again and it went straight to voicemail. She finally called us back and advised someone would be there in ten minutes and that she would give us a discount. Our instructor Amber showed up 15 minutes after the call. She let us in the building and there was a lot of confusion in the paperwork that needed to be signed. She appeared to not actually work there, it was more like she was called last minute. When it came to the payment we were required to give our card information the owner over the phone. She also added another fee for processing a card- twice without notice. This fee was not required at the time of the deposit. So I believe they were just trying to obtain as much money as they could since they were giving us a discount for their mistake. After we got started there was not any structure to how we were being taught. It consisted of us watching her more than anything. When we booked the class we were told it would be pole dancing, chair dancing, and twerking. We did not get taught all three, just pole dancing, if you could call it that. Amber was very sweet but we ended up cutting the class short because we were not satisfied with the class. Do yourself a favor and watch a YouTube video at home!
