I hosted my 21st birthday at this place and it was INCREDIBLE. Everything, from the planning, to the payment, to the accommodations, to the actual painting session-- it was handled so professionally and yet it still felt so personal, I couldn't have asked for a better experience, especially because I had a lot of issues settling on a date. Kate was the person who handled this specific interaction and I'm not sure if that is always the case, but she is such an easygoing person and was so understanding and patient during our communication, and when everyone showed up to get started painting everything was already set up and the environment was so relaxed that it was impossible NOT to have a good time! Kate guided me to choosing a painting for my party that would fit within the time limits, and the options are nearly limitless so there is definitely something for everyone! Even the boys had a good time! Again, Kate is so relaxed and patient that painters of all levels were very comfortable and she was very helpful in answering any questions! Good to know: they do have adult beverages as well as sodas and water available for purchase! All supplies, including aprons, are included in the price of participating! In short, we had an incredible time and came away with gorgeous "party favors"--our paintings! Would love to come back for a class! read more

I've painted at ARTini's a few times and have always had an excellent experience. I know very little about painting and am pretty awful at drawing, but that doesn't matter. The instructors make it very easy to create a painting you will want to proudly display. The atmosphere is relaxed. There is plenty of room. You'll have a great time. read more

ARTini's Art Lounge was a wonderful experience! I've always loved and appreciated art, but never known how to create it myself. ARTini's was the most fun and easy-going introduction I could have asked for. I had such a great time and left with a painting that I'm actually proud of! I went here with a friend in early May. We were visiting Athens from out of town, and it turned out to be a really rainy weekend, so we needed to find something to do indoors. I learned about ARTinis online and decided to check it out. The premise of it is that you go in for about 3 hours and, with guidance from the instructor, you paint a picture. The fee is $35 and includes everything you need for the painting - canvas, paint, brushes, etc (but you can only take the canvas home, of course!). Every session has a "theme" - i.e. a specific painting - that she walks you through. Ours was, "Put a bird on it." We painted a picture of a fruit tree with birds on it. There are also beverages available to buy - alcoholic and nonalcoholic - for an extra fee. The space itself has a very studio feel to it. The owner's artwork is all over the walls and she's a good artist. She also has a cat who has the run of the place. He's a very beautiful cat and I love cats so it didn't bother me. She did ask if anyone was allergic because if there happens to be someone allergic, she can put him somewhere else, but no one in our session was. It is located right where downtown sort of starts on Broad street and it shares a parking lot with neighboring stores which is really nice - you don't have to worry about finding and paying for parking. My friend and I had a really good time. I thought the instructor gave very clear, easy to follow directions, and she didn't move too quickly or too slowly. And we were both pretty impressed with ourselves by the time we finished our paintings! I think we each learned a lot by going through the process, and the best part is, we had something to take home! It was also interesting to see how different everyone's painting was, even though we had all based our paintings off of the same picture and received the same instructions. Overall, it was a really fun experience. A step up from paint-your-own-pottery, I think. And the option of alcoholic drinks would definitely appeal to some. read more

I worked here for about 2 years, and it was so fun and rewarding...it barely felt like a job! The owner is awesome and really cares about making ARTinis a fun local hangout. The location has a great downtown vibe, and meeting new people and painting with them was always a blast!!!! I still love to go by to visit and see the new paintings. My husband and I have done 2 paintings at Artini's so far- the Lollipop Trees and the Wine Bottle. We had so much fun both times, we plan to go about once a month as a fun Friday night date! I usually follow Kate's instructions to a tee, and he usually does something totally different using the same general theme. We set our latest paintings on the mantel at home, and it brings a smile to my face every time I see them. You don't have to be an artist to walk out of class with a painting you are proud of! Kate answers any and all questions and even helps out if you make a giant booboo, like my husband did by dropping a giant blob of blue paint on his canvas, ha. Definitely worth checking out!
