Recently visited to pick up some pottery. The worker there was very helpful, and a pleasure to be around. We have visited a few times and they offer many services such as paint pottery, (the main focus), art classes, art history lessons, and more. They also offer summer classes geared towards children and young adults alike. The studio is small, yes, however the creativity shines in all areas. You can just *feel* the love the owners have for this little establishment. My son and I will be coming back soon for art classes. Absolutely wonderful little studio, I am so glad I gave this a try. If I could leave less than a star I would. I took my kids here and we fired their pottery, I was encouraged to take mine home to finish. I could drop off any day during the week but they only fire and pick up on Saturday. I went multiple times over the next couple weeks trying to drop off and even though posted hours said open their doors were locked. I finally pick up the kids pottery on a Saturday and am able to drop mine off. go back the following Saturday and they are closed even though posted hours are open. I call ahead the next Saturday bc I don't want to drive 45 minutes and they repeatedly don't answer the phone. I take my chances and they are open!! Now to get my cup, but wait it has black on it tracing half a name and then another kids name is fully traces in black...I didn't use black paint! what an expensive waste of our families time and complete disappointment. read more

Mrs. Stein does not know how to keep books. She informed me after sending my kids to her for like a year that she had been undercharging me. I had thought I was paying the full bill every month but now she said I owed them several thousand dollars extra due to her billing mistake. So, being an honest person, I said I would pay all the back money I owed until we were square (even though I probably could have said "yeah right" and just walked away. So I paid a monthly bill for months and months after my children had stopped attending the studio. Finally I started wondering when we would ever be caught up and through with paying, so I made a spreadsheet and looked up all the times my kids attended, subtracting times they were sick or Mrs. Stein cancelled the class or whatever - adjusted for any credits that might have been issued - and compared all the dates we attended with all the invoices and all of my bank statements where I paid the invoices. At some point the amount of invoices and payments were finally equal and I was through with these catch-up payments. But Mrs. Stein continued to bill us. She sent another invoice and I asked her to turn her automatic service off because we were no longer attending the class. She ignored me and sent 2 more invoices. Finally she stopped billing me - with 3 invoices outstanding - although I had done hours worth of research going back through emails and bank statements to make sure I had paid for every class. I will ALWAYS pay every nickel I owe someone. We are not scammers. I could care less about a couple hundred dollars in the grand scheme of all this. But this was about principle at this point. I felt like I was being extorted for being nice and helping her make up her billing mistakes. So I didn't pay for those 3 extra invoices and figured she would get the message and drop it and be grateful I was nice enough to make up all the money she said she undercharged me, long after we quit attending the class. But then she turns me over to a very determined bill collector and I had to go 3 rounds with him, showing him email evidence of how long ago we quit the class and her admitting to making billing mistakes and so forth before he realized that there was more to the story. I went ahead and paid the bill collector a reduced amount of money just so I wouldn't have to spend hours and hours researching this again digging through old emails and bank statements to prove my case. I should have saved the info from the first time I had to research everything to prevent being overcharged but I didn't. So warning - Mrs. Stein and I always got along, she was great with the kids, she is a good art teacher, but she does not know how to run a business or handle billing and invoices properly and if you contest her mistakes after she presents them to you, she will potentially overcharge you (I believe in my heart she overcharged us out of incompetence, not out of malice or greed) and then turn you over to a bill collector to harass you instead of contacting you and trying to get to the bottom of her mistakes. I hate that her bungling of the accounts and viciousness in not trying to get to the bottom of the disagreement led to this and ruined what was a pretty good experience up until that point. I would NEVER trust her with my credit card number or sign up for her incompetent billing ever again. That is offered in many formats including Afterschool art classes Birthday parties Day camp Photography classes Summer camp Workshops The owner and staff was friendly and the studio is clean. They offer monthly art at $56 a month for 1 hour classes each week. This is a mixed media. The prices go up from that. They want kids to create with variety of mediums with guided help.
