How did I not see their poor reviews before I used them. My big mistake, hopefully if you read this you will be smarter than I was. After my website was finally done - took four times as long as promised - I made an additional mistake of transferring my hosting to them. One month later my website had been hacked and Porn put on my site. When I contacted Web studios, they told me it would be $1600 for them to remove it. They said they no longer had my word press credentials as the person that "hacked me" had changed them. I had paid for the ssi safety credentials etc., they could "fix" the problem put couldn't give me the credentials for me to solve the problem. Of course they wouldn't make any money that way. I hired Artistic Web Studios to create a website for me. I am a CPA that is a sole practitioner. It is illegal for me to give the impression that I am a larger firm than 1 because I will lose my license to practice public accounting. This is a public accounting rule meant to protect the public. Artistic Web Studios published a website that constantly used terms like 'we', 'our', 'us', etc. I officially notified them of the recurring issue on Nov 7 and they weren't able to fix the wording until December 1, leaving me exposed to disciplinary action that entire time. In the end, it took 37 days to create a very basic website of 5 pages (they promised within 10 days), and they missed every single one of their own deadlines along the way. Give them a list of changes, half will get done, the other half dropped and they'll create two more issues while they are at it. They don't tell you what they are going to do or when, and they're amazingly terrible at following step-by-step instructions. Simple things such as a sticky header weren't able to get accomplished by this company (I had to add it myself). I had such a problem getting my website done that I escalated my issues to senior management. I got "help" from Ben, the company VP. Unfortunately, he was just as terrible to deal with, failing to address any of my core issues or the relationship. Ben literally just stopped replying to me. In the end, I changed the website myself after getting it back from this company and I'm happier with my version than theirs. Their price is good, but it's a headache. I think their gimmick is that they truly want you as a customer for Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and if you're just there for a website, go to the back of the line. Don't ever use them! It literally took them 5 months(when I was told 2 weeks) to get my website up and running and still yet today, there are mistakes on it. I hired them to make a website for my photography and build it from scratch. It's been a nightmare. I have used two different people from the company and both are exactly the same. I had to hold their hand the entire way. It was like I was making the site myself. I had to correct his grammar multiple times. The spacing looked like a 5 year old had done it. The numbers and letters were all bunched together and each time, he kept telling me it was ready to go live. At one point, my website was live and he still had someone else's pictures on it that he had borrowed the website template from and didn't even change it to our information. I had to bring everything to their attention multiple times to get anything done. At one point, when there were still multiple changes to be made, like stating we are from Denver and not photographers from Oregon, he went live and said he wasn't changing anything else for me, as it's too late. How can you not change something for someone when it isn't even the correct information you have up? I was pissed and was like, "These are mistakes that you the website builder should be correcting, it is not my job to correct all of your mistakes. He kept telling me I should have caught it myself. I didn't pay myself to build it, I paid you. He called me names such as arrogant, and aggressive when I was trying to tell him I just want to leave and not work with them anymore because of all the issues. I would advise to stay far away! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. Due to a pressing deadline, I agreed to proceed with them on a website build and design, but it became quickly apparent to me that this was likely some form of con game or scam. The people I dealt with had no understanding of website design, could not download the simplest of files, and their descriptions of their plans to help me were riddled with doublespeak, and they deflected all my questions. Within 24 hours I realized I had chosen badly and requested a refund -- they had not begun work even though they were aware of my tight deadline. They sent me a refund/credit receipt to my credit card that was apparent phony, as my fee has not been credited to my account more than a day later. I researched their phone numbers and found then on a Robocall list. I've filed a dispute with my credit card company and will not be responsible, but others may not be so fortunate.
