Roughly translated it is a museum of architechture, and upon visiting it it is clear to see how much time and money has been spent on it. It is not like the museums in the UK - statues bathed in sunlight, outdoor exhibitions, water displays and soft music entice the passer by in for a look.
One word of warning however, this is very much a Spanish speaking museum, and whilst it is nice to have a look around if you don't speak the language, you won't of course be able to understand the name plates and information pamphlets, so you are unlikely to actually learn anything! It is probably not somewhere I would take kids either because with no way of understanding the exhibits they would probably get restless.
That said, you don't need to be fluent to get the jist, and if you like fine architecture and interesting exhibits then it is certainly worth a look around, as when I went, it was free of charge and a nice way to spend the afternoon (when it is really too hot to spend on the beach). Give it a try.
