Even if your brushes are dried out this stuff brings them back and it also easily removes paint etc. from your hands. And it's bio. I've tried to order it from Catskill AS but they won't order it saying that their supplier doesn't carry it. I CAN order it from Rhinebeck Art Supply in New Paltz and I do but Catskill is closer and I'd gladly get it from there when I purchase other items. I used to live in NYC and shopped at New York Central Art Supply and it was a pleasure and a great place. For an art supply store not to be able to order certain items is inexcusable. If you need it and it exists they should be able to order it. Bad business practice. If you are reading this try the stuff it's amazing. New Paltz will have it in the store in a couple of weeks. I'm trying to order it directly from the company. I don't think she does that because she honors businesses.

I tend to come in to have prints matted and/or framed. Archival materials are the norm. The staff will also mat to ready-made frame sizes or custom. Their training also makes choosing mats easier. "Do you want bright white or eggshell white?" "Let's look at them together." Additionally, they offer to amend things that I didn't notice. A print I asked to have matted and framed was slightly curved. I was assured the print would be flattened prior to being matted and framed so it would sit more snugly. I'm sure most customers would appreciate that attention to detail. Here's to hoping this establishment continues to provide goods and services to this community for a long time to come.

They sell the pencils individually so she can selectively restock the ones she runs out of most. Apparently, green is the most frequently used color for all the grass in landscapes so she can buy individual ones here very reasonably instead of buying a whole new package of pencils. They also have a nice selection of gift items like small pouches, reusable bags, socks, cards and assorted small art themed things. The selection of easels is extensive and includes table easels and standing easels. Tons of canvas, paints and paint brushes. Prices are reasonable. I found the staff a little overbearing (they greeted me multiple times) when I entered the store but were friendly at checkout. Highly recommend.

Recently…read morerelocated to a renovated cigar factory in downtown Kingston, they're laying the groundwork to become an artistic and cultural center of the Hudson Valley. I've always been impressed with the knowledge the instructors share with their students. Antiquarian processes such as wet plate collodion, lessons on becoming a contemporary commercial photographer, classes on Adobe Photoshop, regular meetings on the artistic process and feedback on your work, they've got you covered. CPW has the equipment and expertise to print your digital photos, too. A black and white film darkroom is also in the plans. Their new home is huge, enough to display exhibitions as well as host workshops. Their staff is also remarkably competent and welcoming.
