Tip: Make an appointment at least 2 months before your Drivers License expires! You will need to do your renewal in person to get a new photo (required for the new "Real ID"). Tip: Park on the West side of the Department of Revenue Building. That is where the DMV entrance is. I walked in just before my appointment time, gave the person at the check in counter my name, got a number and walked into the DMV to wait. There were only a handful of people waiting and plenty of seating. The building is pretty run down and if you are concerned about cleanliness, you may want to stand or BYO wipes for the plastic chairs. To my surprise, as soon as I walked in, my number was called along with the kiosk to report to. That was great. I didn't even have time to sit down. When you make your appointment online, there is a form with all kinds of information they want you to bring with you to confirm your identity and address (like a paystub, utility bill, etc.). It turns out, they don't actually need any of that if your DL hasn't expired yet and your address has not changed. They confirmed my information and sent me to get my photo taken. I only had to wait for one person ahead of me to get their photo taken. DMV photos are never flattering, but at least I got through it quickly. Unfortunately, at that point, they punch a hole in your ID and hand it back to you with a piece of paper saying your ID is not valid without the paper and that your new ID won't be mailed to you for ~30 days. I do not understand why they cannot print them onsite. So, this will be a PITA for the next month while I wait. However, within a couple of hours, my digital ID on the MyColorado App updated with the new expiration date. So, at least I can use that here in CO.

My mother had treated us to 20 tickets, and so off we went to the buildings. Well, first off, Rhinelander was all OUT. Seriously, do you know how rude that is? We then headed to the library. they had TWO chocolate peanuts in a paper cup. FAIL. We walked to Schoolhouse restaraunt to try their array. They had: A. Nuts!!!!!!Nuts are NOT chocolate! B. chocolate vinegar! on cheese! can I get an ewwww or what? C. Whiskey. kids can't have whiskey! D. "Chocolate" wine. What happened there? Seeing we were out of options at this place, we ran over to the rising church. they had a display of tables with foods that looked pretty good. But when we got a closer look, we were even more disappointed. Half of them you had to pay for with real money, and it didn't make sense because most of it was store bought. there were only two tables that accepted tickets, which were Enstroms and Gluten Free Things. Gluten Free Things was EXTREMELY dry and stale. Enstroms was pretty dang good, but still rating 1 star because of the line. We ambled over to the Arvada historical house, mainly because last year they had éclairs and ice cream. as we were in the (extremely long) line, one of the volunteers told us they were out of donuts. What the heck?!? we saw kids walking out with a little paper sale cups with ice cream, and that costed $2! After this was done,we stomped to the supposedly chocolate affair bar. the guy at the counter said all they had was liquor, but there was a bucket of candy at the end. So we went there, and the candy was just store bought and disgusting! my sister actually thought it was slimy! We steamed out, went to the booth where they were selling tickets, and confronted the lady who was selling tickets. She was closing down, and we gave her a piece of our mind. She said she was sorry and offered us a 'treat' (aka ANOTHER store bought candy). I took one but it tasted gritty and bluh. In the end, we just went to dairy queen and got yummy buster bars. If you ask me getting a buster bar or even a sundae would be better than this train wreck! We will NEVER BE BACK. One star for Enstroms, but that's it!
