Unfortunately, she has a fair amount of pretty serious health issues, has suffered from anxiety in large social settings with peers, and had a lot of trepidation about starting Pre-K. I had heard plenty of good things about a lot of local preschools, and we did our research. But the second we toured Village, we knew this was the best place for her. These teachers went out of their way, even way before school started, to make her feel comfortable, safe, and at home. They love and nurture her as if she was their own child, and she has really blossomed under their care. She trusts her teachers completely (a huge deal for her) and passionately LOVES school. It has been the completely perfect first school experience for her. Their emphasis on kindness and character-building create a classroom of kids who really support and enjoy each other, and their projects and activities are always so beautifully age appropriate and imaginative. The small class sizes allow for plenty of individualized instruction and addressing of multiple learning styles. They mix traditional approaches such as phonics and penmanship with new-world educational methods like STEM integration and mind-body techniques. My daughter has especially loved the geographical and cultural studies undertaken by the staff (with incredible creativity) and all of the opportunities for community outreach. She starts kindergarten in September, and thanks to this ideal experience at Village, she feels positive and confident. We are so lucky to have this treasure in our community. I get really teary thinking about it. This has been such a special year for my child and for us as her parents, all thanks to this awesome school and the amazing women who run it. I truly believe VNS is exactly what Pre-K should be.

From the moment we walked through the doors, we felt welcomed into a warm and caring community. The teachers are beyond fabulous--nurturing, creative, and deeply invested in each child's growth and development. The director is incredible: thoughtful, approachable, and always going above and beyond to ensure a safe, enriching, and joyful environment for the kids. The sense of community among families is strong and supportive, making it easy to build lasting connections. SCCNS also offers an amazing variety of enrichment activities that made every day exciting for my children--music, art, science, outdoor play, and more. Our experience there was nothing short of exceptional, and I feel so lucky that both of my kids had such a wonderful start to their learning journey.

I cannot say enough good things about Elizabeth Seton preschool for children with medical needs…read more This place has been a blessing for our family and our daughter with medical needs. We decided to enroll her at 3 years old last year once she aged out of early intervention. I lived in Westchester at the time and as soon as I walked in I knew I wanted her at Seton after touring other schools. The facility is beautiful and staff goes above and beyond. My daughter was lucky enough to be in Ms. Melissa's class (we adore her!) Not only do the children get classroom learning time through the entire day, they have nurses on site to administer my daughter's g-tube feed, she gets OT, Speech and PT as well. They have a beautiful outdoor space. My daughter has thrived and flourished beautifully in this program. I could not ask for more. We recently moved out of district to Nanuet, NY and with the help of the school and my daughter's medical team we were able to keep her another year at Seton. This place has been a blessing for us. It's extremely difficult to trust anyone will care for your medical needs child as well as yourself but I fully trust the staff at Seton. I was nervous and terrified initially to enroll her but it was the absolute best decision. My daughter is really happy :) lots of fun events throughout the year as well.

My pre-schooler is excited to be able to read site words and challenges herself with the math skills already implemented in class every day. I enjoy and often challenge myself with her homework, book reports and projects. I was relentlessly contacted and bullied by the daycare and their lawyer to make payments that were being included in my child support payments. I was even left a vm mocking me by someone at the daycare. Then, there was a Father's Day donuts with dad. My ex's father (my daughter's grandfather) came, and I was never notified. Then, when I picked my daughter up for a visit, she asked me why I wasn't allowed at the daycare for her graduation? I said what are you talking about? My daughter said "Mrs. Verne said you weren't allowed there, but I was hoping you would have came to my graduation." I know whoever's reading this is going to say I should've been more involved, but this daycare believed the lies of my ex wife and participated in alienation of me and my child.

My son attended Nauraushaun Nursery School and he had an amazing experience there. He went from…read morebeing home with me 24/7 for over four years, to going to preschool five mornings per week... and had no problem adjusting due in large part to the nurturing, welcoming environment of the teachers and the school community. He went from having difficulty with his fine motor skills, to writing/cutting/gripping effectively due in large part to the attention of his caring, hard-working teachers who advocated for him. I could go on and on with specifics, but overall, my son's first experience with school (which, as an educator, I feel is one of the most important) was so incredibly positive that I'm certain that's why he continues to enjoy it and thrive to this day. As a parent, I welcomed the chance to participate and be involved in my son's educational experience, and I was welcomed by the teachers, the Board, and the parents of the school. I truly felt like part of the wonderful community that is fostered in the school. I made relationships with many of the members of the school community that remain intact to this day, which I attribute to the positive environment of NNS. I felt that the Board members as well as the teachers were professional, approachable, accessible, and extremely user-friendly. There's nothing more important to me than my children, and as far as their education is concerned, I want the very best: a nurturing environment where they learn, where they love to learn, where they are happy, where they are considered.
