So bad that they changed their name to Lifestance. Still just as bad. Scheduling is a nightmare.

Unprofessional and rude. My sister was being seen for anxiety and depression. In the 9 months she tried to receive counseling and medication, her appointments were cancelled three times! All because the doctor was unable to make the appointment. She was also unable to receive a prescription for medication unless she had at least two counseling appointments scheduled, even when they had kept canceling. They won't accept any recommendations from counselors outside of Ascendent for medication. For someone who needed help and took the tremendous step to get treatment, she was met with hostility and inflexibility. When she needed a refill on her single prescription, she had to call 4 times over a week before she was able to talk to a person and not an answering machine. The receptionist then said that they would not be able to give her a refill until she'd had another appointment. Then my sister was told that her provider had LEFT the practice with all her records, then returned! It was disorganized and chaotic and with no apology offered for the confusion, my sister is done being offered zero help and is ready to find another provider. Hopefully one who can actually keep appointments. She does clarify that Natasha (receptionist) and Celeste (counselor) were very kind and professional. My sister was glad to have been in their care. But with all the other issues, it's just not worth it. read more

I am not a patient here but I am SHOOK. I have a friend who sees Anne Doubek here. My friend has been struggling with depression (on top of other things) and desperately needed to speak with her therapist and was told she would receive a call back to get her on the schedule for this week. Here it is Friday afternoon and she never heard from anyone. She is texting me saying some pretty scary stuff so I called the clinic to see if I could get a message over to Anne and have Anne give my friend a call before the weekend.. didn't need to be a visit... just a check-in.. So I called and spoke with the receptionist and she transferred me to Anne. I began to vaguely explain the situation (just said I was a concerned friend who knows a call from her therapist would help) and Anne very rudely kept interrupting me to tell me that she "cannot speak with me regarding this patient". Listen, I know ALL about HIPAA compliance and I told her that I didn't WANT info, I was just trying to speak up for my friend who is struggling.. and I was interrupted again and she just repeated herself and then told me to call UNI Behavioral health... I am just speechless. I am very disappointed. I am telling my friend she needs a new therapist. read more

I've gone to see Ascendant Behavioral Health for Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I'm prior military and it's taken a lot for me to leave the VA and go out on the community but I just couldn't find the professionalism and relationship with my therapist that I've found here. I don't know what happened with the other review I feel bad, but my experience has been nothing short of excellent. If you're looking for a welcoming space, kind reception, and great therapist and doctors Ascendant is where you should consider. read more

I've seen three different people here. From the very first appointment with both of the first two, I felt like a checklist. The third is slightly better, but it definitely feels like the people here aren't paid enough and have to hold down multiple jobs, which means they don't have enough time to really focus on you. Huge headache to get an appointment and they wouldn't even let us choose who my daughter saw. After waiting several weeks she was just assigned someone. Her first appointment she said it was like talking to a brick wall. Don't see how's people like that are employed as counselors? We now have to get on a waiting list somewhere else. Jesse Beebe has been such a great guide to me. Each time I go into therapy I feel more equipped to navigate the turmoils of life, and I'm always left feeling more confident about myself. He's been able to teach me some skills that have allowed me to embrace more of the unknowns and find bravery in being me. This is the best counseling facility I have been to. The front office staff are very welcoming and make you feel cared about. The therapists I have seen are very helpful and intuitive. The director even checked with me to be sure the therapist I was given was working for me. I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking counseling. read more

I was very disappointed in the experience we had at Ascendant. I took my young adult daughter there hoping to see a Psychiatrist and receive professional help for depression and anxiety. We met with a counselor the first time and were told the soonest appointment with the Doctor would be 6 months out. We remained hopeful and waited for the appointment. I called and confirmed the date and time two weeks prior and drove from Idaho to take her to the appointment. We showed up and she was taken back to be told that her appointment was canceled because she hadn't see the counselor in the past month. We had tried to make an appointment the week before for counseling without a time that would work. I figured we'd just schedule another when we met with the doctor. We received no notification of the cancellation. The next available appointment with the doctor was now 4 months later. We are done! What a joke! read more
