This happened yesterday: I pulled up to the gas station to…read moreget gas. There was a line of cars waiting to do the same. While in line, some of my passengers got out of the car to throw stuff in the waste bin and stretch their legs. A lady, who later turned out to be the owner of the gas station, started to yell at us "nobody gets in and out of a car here!" She started circling the car and took pictures of my license plate. I rolled down my window and said "I would like to get gas, please." She said "you can do whatever you want to do but nobody gets in or out of a car here." At this point, I should mention that this was a self-service gas station, meaning that I HAD to get out of the car to pump my own gas. My husband was helping me because I could not figure out the pump. She said "I will file a police report and you will get a fine." I did not know what the hell was going on, went into the shop and paid over 60 Euros for the gas I had pumped. She said "You do this again, I will call the police." I said nothing and left. This woman is deranged, probably dangerous and the most unfriendly person I have ever met in my life. Do not go there!

Pay to use restrooms! This was a very clean place to use…read morefor the restroom, but it cost me a half euro! I had to get a ticket from a machine that let me in, under the watchful eye of a janitor. I think I might have been able to get the admission price back on merchandise from the convenience store, but I didn't take them up on it- why else would they print such a un-forge-able ticket complete with holograms, just to go to the bathroom? This place offered gas, coffee, bottled drinks, snacks and small gifts from Austria. The staff spoke English and were fast and helpful. I ended up here on a tourbus that was directing everyone to use the restroom at the restaurant next door. When I saw that there was a long line to that place, I ventured across the street to this place, and was glad to pay 0.50 euro to not stand in line to have to pee. I managed to get a cold beer here, a kangaroo-themed snack and a coffee for under five euro! Score! This gas station is situation on a bluff overlooking this crescent shaped lake where someone once rode their horse into in a historical fashion. The lake is apparently privately owned, but the owner allows anyone to use it, as long as they don't use motorized equipment, since that's too loud. It's a beautiful view!
