Das Wildragout bestand aus trockenen geschmacksneutralen Faserstücken in einer dicken überwürzten Sauce die alles verschwinden ließ. Das hungrige Kind bekam dann eine Eispalatschinke. War In Ordnung. Die Melange war wässrig, der Milchschaum mit der für österreichische Lokale ohne Kaffeekompetenz typischen Abwaschwasserkonsistenz. Laut Auskunft eines örtlichen Experten gibt es sehr gute Lokale am Hauptplatz. Also kein Grund die Orangerie zu frequentieren.

The room does not smell like smoke, but when you open a window for cool air ( no AC ), you will smell the smoke. On the upside, once everyone is asleep, the quite evening really adds to the enjoyment. Almost no cars around, very quiet, very peaceful. Once the smoking stops, a lovely cool breeze rolls into the room. This has been the best sleep I have had in over a week in Europe. Firm bed, thick clean comforter, fluffy pillows. Also, like many places, great breakfast downstairs. Again the staff were friendly and relaxed. Good coffee as well. Overall, as long as you don't have to deal with smoke, this place is very good.

I especially loved the pear cider and the farmer's plate that we munched on for lunch. His wife bakes the bread fresh each day. The restaurant is opened on the weekends, and they are busy with the farm during the rest of the week. The two of them were constantly moving and ensuring that all of their patrons were happy and enjoying their food. Everything is beautifully decorated and they have these beautiful hand-carved furnishings throughout the restaurant. They also have a distillery on the property and they make schnapps here with some very high-tech equipment. Josef has set up his children and future generations for success. I was here as part of a small tour group and it was my favorite stop on my entire trip. If you want to get a feel for the true Austrian countryside and help support a local family farm that has been handed down for many generations, this is your place. It was such a joy to visit during the spring when everything was in bloom. I hope I am lucky enough to return here one day. Also, we learned the proper way to toast in Austria. You must make eye contact with the person you are toasting and say "gazunteit!" (That's "to your health!" Which is like what you say when someone sneeezes) and while keeping their gaze the other person responds with something that kinda of sounds phonetically like "soul sleepin'!" I don't know how to spell it but it translates to "so drinkable!" Or "goes down easy".
