My family has been with Ashbrook for 9 years now and it has been one of the best decisions we have made for our family. Not only do the teachers challenge my children, but they have nurtured them as well. They have fostered their curiosities and are willing to see how far they can go. My children are above grade level for math and science, and Ashbrook not only provided the opportunities for them to move up but the teachers actually reached out to us to ask if they could move up. The teachers and staff have become our partners and the families our little community. My kids not only enjoy the core subjects, but also love the arts program where they get to participate in art, drama, Pe, music, and foreign language on a regular basis. Additionally, communication and partnership with the school administration has been great. When communicating with them, we hear back within a day or two, and any questions or concerns are heard and addressed. They try to be as transparent as possible and communicate with families on a weekly basis. They also welcome feedback and have multiple opportunities for us to talk to them. We highly recommend Ashbrook for any family who wants a challenging and nurturing environment for their kids. We will certainly miss Ashbrook when our children graduate. It's okay. Curriculum is good, but not all teachers are very nice. Most teachers are great! But the rules are not enforced equally throughout the students. Males are usually treated with more lax standards along with shorter, less developed girls. Some people are very quick to make assumptions about students based on overall airs. I was on financial support, but tuition is pretty expensive. Not many students. Some of the students that grew up in a wealthy loving family can be very inconsiderate with words. Dress code is strict. Dress code enforcer has tried to tell me where MY mid thigh was. Also the dress code does not provide much room for religious wear. Hijabs and headwear are allowed, but certain holidays might include certain attire. It can be a challenging place for students with Social Anxiety on multiple different fronts. There is no special needs program to my knowledge. I personally think that this school is a bit too sensitive, but that comes from a middle class public school person until I got here recently. The school is pretty academically supportive to those who don't require help, but it skips a year of material. I was scared to say this till now but it was also pretty terrifying the whole time. And exhausting. Mental health is taken care of by most of the teachers that are trying to get their own job done. Kids have said slurs, done VERY inappropriate things and made noises to others, and it's never taken care of. It always kept happening. Bullying was not addressed. Most people are obsessed with putting labels on you. And people wouldn't listen to me. It was actually pretty deteriorating. And I had already went into this school with crippling depression. My only friends at the school were much more support than the mental health support system or whatever thing they had set up at the time. And nobody knows boundaries. I'm sorry. I hope its changed now. read more

We have had a student at Ashbrook for over five years now and have found the school to be attentive to our concerns when on occasion they arise. They have good foundational philosophy about how our children can be raised to have good character and be good citizens. They allow students who want to excel to do so, while if there is any hiccup, teachers work with staff and parents to find a good solution to get the student to back up to par. Ashbrook provides a safe campus to learn from preschool to 8th grade. The student to teacher ratio is perfect for adaptive learning and being in touch with how your child is learning. My child has attended this school for many years and is quite happy and challenged academically. I think the tuition is well worth the money and is, in fact, a very good deal. The equivalent PK-8 school where we moved from costs twice as much. Ashbrook does a wonderful job of 'meeting kids where they are'. If you want to work ahead in Math and Science, this is the place! My student is learning to write well and give presentations which will come in handy in high school and college. All the teachers and staff are kind and committed to their work. The school was very organized during the first year of COVID and my child did not fall behind at all. The education since March 2020 both online and in person has been top notch. The school uses current technology enough to be useful but does not overly depend on it at the expense of human relationships. The head of school is wonderful and has such a depth and breadth of experience. Ashbrook families are diverse and treat each other well. I am happy to be in this community. read more

Ashbrook is a beautiful school that has continued to provide my son with a positive preschool experience the past year and a half. The preschool room is well payed out with tons of natural light. He specifically loves the coveted playground designated for just the preschool classroom. He has learned so much since he started. But his biggest growth has been socially! My only complaint is that they don't go all the way through High School. Small class size, great teachers, beautiful learning environment, great community of parents, foreign language, arts, music from pre-K on up. Many children are advanced and work above grade level - this is both encouraged and accommodated. I wish math was a little more rigorous for the younger grades but certainly in par with the local public schools. I think the tuition is well worth it. Highly recommend! read more

So far so good. Moved my kids from a country setting to this amazing environment. Safe and secure campus. Was told by the other school that one of my kids' needs could not be met there. They misconstrued her behavior as troublesome rather than realize she was struggling with boredom. Ashbrook has wonderful astute teachers and administration. Small class sizes. This school helps kids build positive character and live with integrity. Great place for "weird" talented and gifted kids--foreign language, arts, music, math, science, social studies, etc. The family/parent network is wonderful. While not perfect all of the time, it is most of the time. I highly recommend if looking for a good, diverse community of people who want the best education in Corvallis. Wish we had never sent our child to this school. It was an awful and damaging experience. The administration seemed to have no concern about the well-being of all children -- not just ours, but others too. We were with the school for 14 years/4 children and it was worth every penny! Amazing facilities, energetic teachers, engaged parents and a peer group all focused on getting a good education. Two of my children chose to switch into Mandarin in 5th grade and were placed in 2nd year Chinese in their respective high schools. There is a real sense of community, especially amongst the lower school grades, as parents are required to pick their children up from the classroom (pre-k through 4th)at the end of the day. Middle school students are offered a variety of exciting electives (Fly Tying, Ultimate Frisbee, Math Counts, Shakespeare , Graphic Novel, Boat Building, Zombie Geography....etc.) and even have the opportunity to join Model United Nations, one of the two Oregon middle schools participating in the high school conference. This is not a school for troubled children, this is a school for those that aim to fly high! read more
