Very disappointing and frankly disgusted at the services provided by Ashby Lowery. Throughout the whole tenancy they have been what I can only describe as a complete nightmare, and if you ask me, that's still to kind. Whenever there was an issue in the flat, the response received from our 'LETTING AGENT' was a joke. We once went without heating for a month, forcing us to purchase storage heaters etc, as a part had melted on our boiler and we were advised by the 'building handy man' 2 weeks into the break when he finally arrived, that the landlord - & I quote, 'did not like paying for things so it will be some time before its fixed' - regardless of the fact that is not our issue and we had paid full rent for a service which seized to exist! Any calls made to Ashby Lowery were greeted with rudeness and almost a chore to speak to us or offer any advice. The office manager Andrea is an unapproachable, rude, arrogant woman whom personally made us dread the thought of something else in the property Ashby Lowery had leased to us, breaking in the event we had to call (which several things did -including the oven, dishwasher and main entrance buzzer - all warranty issues, as we were in the property 3 years, yet no carpet ware was expected!!). That alone is unacceptable. It's to my belief that not one person in Ashby Lowery communicates with each other. On one occasion toward the end of our tenancy, we were advised viewings were to be arranged and we would be notified and once our authority was granted, the viewing would take place. This did not happen. What did happen however was one Saturday morning, we were greeted by a letting agent and 2 potential tenants, on our middle landing, with no knowledge what so ever that they were there or were in fact coming round, and what's worse is the letting agent proceeded to ask if she could 'just show them the rest quick' of course we said no, having been in a TOWEL! To which she turned to her, quite obviously mortified clients and said 'I don't know why they're being like that' - making me extremely uncomfortable in my own home - then thought it acceptable to simply apologise on a later phone call and state it wouldn't happen again, which again is unacceptable. I also had a large dispute over my deposit, due to lack of communications from Ashby Lowery, i.e - 'our final inspection sheet read simply - 'Carpets badly warn' that was it, which prompted us to call the agency, to ask exactly what this meant, that's when we were told to have the carpets cleaned, which of course we adhered too. We then contacted Ashby Lowery again the day before hand over, and were told, we were to paint the place!!!! We were up 24 hours protecting our newly cleaned carpets and painting, due to Ashby Lowery's lack of information supplied. Legal proceedings were conducted and the results of the investigation turned out very positive on my behalf where I was in fact rewarded my deposit! Following the advice received from several different Legal companies we have contacted, including several other letting agency's local to Northampton whom have given us extensive detailing on standard operational procedures, which quite clearly, Ashby Lowery have neglected to execute. I feel such relief I am out of that place, and I am so relieved that I never have to deal with such an incompetent 'Letting Agency' again.
