Worst shopping experience ever. I bought a new side table from them. It was delivered in a box that was not the original box. The delivery fellow told me that it wasnt in the original box because the box was damaged. Surprise when I open the box, it was not even wrapped up properly and all the pieces were loose and not I. Original packaging. there was a lot of damage to the legs as well as the top. I called immediately and was given the run around that they do not have a return policy even if it came damaged. I sent photos and told that a technician would have the right to try and fix it first. They would do nothing foe me. I purchased a new piece of furniture and got a beat up floor model with tons of scrapes in the legs and top. First time I ever bought from this company and last Time No customer service. Do not use this location if you want good customer service. I had the worst customer service experience at the Heritage Calgary location. I had searched for months looking for the right sectional for my new home and found this one at Ashley's. I knew I had family staying with me at the end of August, so I ordered my sectional the first week of July. I was told that I can put down a $500 deposit and it will be ordered. Once they receive my sectional I would get a phone call to pay the remaining amount, and then schedule my delivery. They said the item was on back order but should not take more then a month. After a month passed and I had not heard anything, I called in to check on my order. I was told that my order had not been processed because I had to put down more then half of the purchase price rather then just a deposit. When I asked why I was not contacted about this, their response was it is indicated on the invoice not to contact the customer. This "no contact" is apparently mandatory for customers who just put down a $500 deposit. I was also told that the sectional had come into the store a few times and was sold to customers who paid on the spot rather then contacting myself and letting me know it was here. I had no issue paying the full amount if that is what they wanted, but that was not communicated to me at any point. I was told by the office manager that my order would not make it by the end of August for when my family would be visiting, so expressed my frustration. The officer manager said she would contact head office and get back to me asap to see if they could get my order in more quickly. Then the officer manager took off for vacation and did not relay any information onto the other receptionist. A week later I had called asking what the status was and the office manager responded that she would have to look into it again. This being too late to order a new couch from anywhere else, I went into the store and spoke with the store manager, Steven. I expressed my frustration to him and asked if he would be able to help me get my furniture on the timeline that I had set out for the past two months. He was super unhelpful and took everything I said personally, and made the whole situation more difficult. I was told by the store manager that if I choose to cancel my order, I would have to pay a 10% restocking fee for a sectional that was still sitting in the warehouse. While I went to the side to contemplate if I should cancel my order, I could hear the store manager talking about my situation with the group of sales staff who had gathered around us and were watching the situation. Not only was I frustrated, but embarrassed. I really just wanted to cancel my order because the service had been so bad. The only reason I stuck with Ashley's is because I had searched for months and this had been the best option that would work best in my home. As well my parents had furnished their home with Ashley's furniture in the past and it seemed to still be in good condition. If I were to use Ashley's again, I would never use this location. Unfortunately my family visiting stayed over at my place without a place to sit. I would recommend that if anyone chooses to shop here, make sure you get everything written out clearly in detail and maintain lots of communication, since they lack in that department. read more

Overall, our experience with Ashley Furniture has been pretty darn good. The store-room sales experience was great (of course), but my wife and I were a bit worried when we read all these bad reviews online saying people didn't get their stuff, or it came damaged, so we were a bit on edge in the interm period while we were waiting for our delivery. The day before the scheduled delivery date, we got a call saying our stuff was going to be delayed, at which point we thought "great, we're just going to become another negative statistic", but it turned out that our delivery was only delayed by about 5 days. The customer service rep who rescheduled our delivery was excellent and very professional, and come delivery day, the guys showed up early into the 3 hour window, and busted their balls to get our sofa up to our second floor condo. They also displayed professionalism and curteousy, and incredible determination to get our large couch up the tiny stairway into our suite. They never once said "dude, this isn't going to work, you're going to have to get another couch". They just plodded on and got 'er done. read more

Beware.... if anyone is looking at the Ashley `Durablend`products. I purchased a Durablend living room set less than four years ago and just `tried` to use the extended warranty because the leather is disintegrating. Ashley`s call center agent Mike & supervisor Norman both told me the warranty doesn't`t cover the leather coming apart cause it is a KNOWN ISSUE and not listed on their warranty pamphlet. The sales people sure do push the durablend (and the worthless extended warranty) because it is SO durable.... I guess this known issue and lack of warranty to cover it is little concern to them. We purchased a couch from Ashley HomeStore in early December from Gabriel, and we were told our couch could likely come before Christmas. We were in no hurry so whether it was before or after Christmas made no difference. HOWEVER, we were contacted on Dec 20 and told that our couch was here and ready for delivery. They scheduled us on Dec 22 for delivery (with a forecasted snowstorm in the works), and asked us to be home and available between 2-5pm that day. So we book off work, make sure we are home during this time, and in true unreliable fashion, we hear nothing the entire afternoon. So we call twice, and don't hear back about our order until 7pm, and were told it's not coming...and won't be coming until the 28th now. We live in a small apartment and have cleared all living room furniture in anticipation for this new couch (and also what they asked us to do in advance), and now we have no furniture just in time to celebrate Christmas? Absolutely unacceptable. Can't get ahold of any managers, everyone we talk to conveniently can't help us. We paid an extra $150 for this delivery service and have received absolutely nothing. First time ever making a complaint about a business. Ashley Furniture Store purchase started okay until we paid the bill. We bought our furniture in March and were told it would be delivered in May Due to COVID shortages. We understood and still accepted the terms. First piece showed up in May a small chair. Couch and love seat came a month later. We were very patient but starting to get annoyed about the delay. When the couch arrived it was very poor quality the arm was not straight the decrotive beads that ran along the top were not straight. The dining room table base was dropped the table top was damaged. The chairs to the dining room set had the wrong legs. We called the help line and they setup a person to come look. I took the day off as they could not give a time but between noon and 4. The person never showed up and I had to take another day off. The tech finally came and he was pleasant and confirmed that our problems were legitimate. He ordered the parts and said he needed to send another tech to do the repairs. Guess what, had to another day off for the tech to fix it. the parts came in approx a month. He came to do the repairs and noticed that he could not fix the couch only the table. So Ashley had to come back again to pick the couch up, another day off. The had the couch for approx 3 weeks and then scheduled to deliver it, this is now 4 days off of my vacation. The couch came back dirty but fixed. The dining room chair parts were supposed to be here August 17th. That is 6 months after purchase and we just received the two legs today, August 31st after we called. Went to install the new parts and they have now sent the wrong legs. I'm not one to complain but this is not right. I encourage you to share this post and not shop at Ashley's Furniture, it has been the worst experience I have ever had buying anything. the store will not deal with us as they want you to go through the guest services. I would return everything if I could and go to any other store if I could but they will not take returns nor have they offered any discount or compensation for my 4 vacation days. I have read the good reviews and I have read the bad. I'm thinking there is more bad than good but people don't have the time to let the rest of us know. This is worst experience I have ever had in retail. I own two bed sets from Ashley and only one of them are good, the other strayed to make noise and now it's at the point that even the slightest move will make the bed squeak. I have the full warranty for the beds.. So I contacted the customer service regarding how the bed was not right and had defects as it was not functioning how a bed should. After multiple visits to the store and talking on the phone multiple times I was told that I will get a call back!!!! It's been two weeks know And I still haven't gotten a call!!! So that's Day I call costumer service and guess what I was HUNG UP after asking generally what all is included in the warranty and explaining what had happened in the past few weeks. This is the rudest behaviour I have gotten from a costumer services person. They literally have no respect for their customers and they are terrible at managing the needs and requirements of their customers. I would highly dis-recommend Ashely due to Thor poor customer service. The store will tell to meet at a certain time and day but the service person won't be there themselves. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!!! This store has the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. Management (Christine to be exact) that shouldn't be in management or perhaps take a course in how to deliver customer service. Not once did Christine converse with me to try to resolve the situation. We ordered a couch and other items from this store. We made sure that the couch would fit our space and it did but it did not fit going down the hall and was about 1/2 inch too big. I was assured by an associate at Ashley there would be no additional charges to come down and look for an alternative. There was no alternative in our chosen color other than a 5,000 couch which was 3,500.00 more than the one we had originally purchased. They charged us 10 % fee of what the couch was worth, regardless of the fact that we had purchased other items. Christine asked did you not read the fine print. If you are going to charge people a re-stocking fee you better make sure that your sales associates make sure that messaged is delivered before someone purchases and finds themselves in my position. We have ordered many items to furnish our apartment from other furniture stores and everything has gone off without a hitch except for Ashley Furniture Heritage. The furniture is nice, the sales associates are helpful and knowledgeable, but that's where it ends. Everything was delivered late and with damage. Talking to the customer care reps was the most frustrating experience ever, got different answers from different reps on multiple issues. Total waste of time, but no other choice once damaged items are delivered. They are rude and condescending, despite the fact that they don't know their own policies. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is and that goes for the deals at Ashley Furniture. The best part of the experience was the delivery and that's not saying much. First of all, like many of the reviewers, I went to the store without the view that I would really purchase. I was lured in with what seemed like a great, too good to be true 6 piece bedroom set. The sales person walked us through and showed us the pieces which included a dresser, mirror, night stand, bed frame and headboard, and drawer chest. Six pieces right? Wrong... after the pieces were delivered I was rudely made aware that the drawer chest was not the six piece but instead the slats to the bed were the sixth piece (who would have thought that you would even think to suggest a part of a bed was the piece in a bedroom set). Not only that but the furniture itself was not much better than something you would find in Jysk, except without the (much) of the assembly. It's no wonder why the show room has the lighting of a basement (you can't see the poor quality of the furniture without the light of day). Buyer's remorse, you bet. Not only that but you can't return the stuff without being charged a 25% restocking fee (plus the $100 in delivery cost). Talk about a bait and switch... what sounds like a good deal turns out to lock you in to a horrible deal (with veneered furniture). Feeling like I was locked into a suckers bet I gave them one more chance to remedy the experience and called back to find out how to get the other missing piece to the set. The sales defence kicked off right away with the sales man quoting back the incredibly high marked up price as the basis for saying I got a steal of a deal - I'm not sure that they have ever even tried to compare their sales prices with any other furniture store but if they had they would clearly realize that they are, at best, the middle of the pack. (On my soured and rotting deal, they were priced out.) Not surprisingly, the sales man came down with a marked down of $100 of their inflated price and the promise of free delivery. Given that he was trying to fix the problem and I was stuck with few options to get a matched piece, I gave in and thought I'd let bygone be bygones and work things out. I was told to come back and process the sale. When I arrived at the store, I was hit up with another ugly surprise to a string of unpleasant surprises. The store manager re-dictated the terms and removed the free delivery. In essence, he did not like the fact that he was marking down by the $100 so took it back by trying to force the cost back on me. What is very disappointing about the tactic is a deal is deal and as an organization you can't commit to something one minute and change that when you feel like it doesn't suit you later. If that wasn't what Ashley Furniture felt was unfair, they wouldn't put a 25% restocking fee on their sales contracts. Though I might not have been please, just following through on what was promised would have at least let me continue to let bygones be bygones but the unreasonably short sighted consideration of the sales manager has made me a truly disgruntled customer. To all those that will read this... there are better companies out there with the same quality of product at better prices. There are ugly terms to their contracts and don't be surprised if you don't have much luck getting things worked out. I can definitely see how getting a good sales person might convince you that this company might be okay to deal with but be warned that you may find yourself with a customer service issue that you have to resolve with a very unpleasant organization. Worst customer service I have had to deal with in a long time. God awful, rude, unprofessional. Ordered an item online - no email receipt sent. Email to ask them to send a receipt on their website - zero response ever. Phone to ask why they are so unprofessional and no receipt had been sent - the individual on the phone just kept telling me the delivery date and refused to acknowledge that I wanted a receipt provided - eventually told me a "supervisor would call me in the next 24 hrs" - no one ever called. Tried to use the online chat on their website - was told it was likely my fault and that I had put my email in wrong (yup, very professional, blame the customer - and no it was an autofill function and had not been entered incorrectly) - again refused to help. Phoned again and finally a competent and very apologetic woman took all of about 3 minutes to have the receipt emailed. Why are SO MANY of their staff so unbearably incompetent and why did I have to waste SO MUCH of my time to get a simple receipt? In November of 2011 I bought 3 pieces from Ashley. In store experience was great. Found the dining room set I loved, a sideboard (server) and a beautiful coffee table. Paid for it all. Then waited......and waited......and .....you got it, waited. So I get the call for delivery and am informed all the pieces are damaged!! I'm thinking wtf...so they bring it all in, the sideboard is fine. The dining room is fine with a small 'dent' in one of the chairs. The coffee table is completely scratched up! So I accepted the dining room set and sideboard. They gave me a 50.00 check for the 'ding'. Fine. They told me they'd re-order the coffee table and I could use this scratched one until the next delivery. Thanks.... A month later...I get the phone call for delivery. I ask if it's ok as the last order was damaged. She tells me it's been inspected and is fine. Great. We set up the 2 delivery for the next day. Yep the next day comes, they call, sorry maam it's really damaged badly. Now I'm really upset. They order ANOTHER one. Just got the call this morning from a complete jerk from Ashley who says it's in, ready for delivery. I ask him, is it damaged? He says no. Yep. Not 5 minutes ago they just called back again and tell me it's 'severely damaged'. Aplogized in advance to the customer service girl and told her I want an immediate refund of the table and they can come pick it up. I'M DONE. She tells me she'll see if she can get that for me and call me tomorrow. Never again Ashley Furniture. Seriously get your sh!t together. On a side note, I've contacted the Ashley store directly instead of going through customer service and the store itself has been nothing but wonderful. We bought 2 rooms of furniture 18 months ago. 2 'all leather' couches were amongst the items. We have never yet had couches that looked new. These 'high end' products have constantly been in a peeling state. They send their techs and I spend my days waiting for people to come: assess, come: repair, come: assess, come:repair, come: assess.....Yes, 3 times so far and another in the works. One of the techs told me that the base won't peel because it's vinyl! My 'all leather' furniture is NOT all leather. Guess this is a blessing since it's the only part that wll hold up. I have asked for it to be bought back as was explained to me by one of the techs that came out. Oh no, they aren't doing that. Even though it cracks everytime anyone over 50 pounds sits on it. Very unconcerned customer service reps. "it wasn't our intention to sell you defective products' was the excuse for not replacing. "Well, it wasn't my intention to pay thousands for crap either!" Advice from THEIR tech... as soon as they look nice, sell them and get what you can out of it. Huge footprints on the bottom of the coffee table we bought. A crack all the way down the side. purchased a dinning table set and a leather low profile bed. the table was supposed to be solid wood, but 4 months later I found out it is actually veneered because the veneer on the side of the dinning table went loose because of the shape change. I called in and was told to call the manufacturer, so far there is no response from the manufacturer. the surface of the table looks so nice, but actually anything could make a scratch easily on it. the bed was delivered with a tore on one side of the leather rail, I called in immediately after the delivery, and was told to send a picture, they could give me store credit, F* I won't buy any furnitures in this store any more, why do I need its credit? After the bed is assembled together, I wanted to change its orientation in my room and the delivery guys told me it can't be lifted because the side rails will fall off. what a piece of garbage for almost $1600. read more

December15,2014 Contacted customer service regarding a pickup of furniture, was told by representative (a rather miserable sounding representative) that he would let me know if they could accommodate THE TIME THEY TOLD ME (as i got a phone call saying 3:30-6:30 when i was told between 9-4) and he hung up! didn't even say goodbye, have a nice day nothing- what great customer service-NOT! as i have received this service continuously from Ashelys furniture. Called back to get his name terry rep number 510 - ands he hung up on me AGAIN. I hope this gets documented but least I can do is warn the customers who are considering purchasing anything from Ashleys, you are going to get the worse service on every end other than the guys trying to sell it to you. I recently purchased a chaise sofa from Ashley Furniture in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada, as the sofa was a little larger than we thought and was going to be, it made the room look smaller than it already was. I immediately called my saleslady as requested kindly if we can exchange the sofa for another one that was smaller. The salesperson threw the books at me and said that it clearly states in the receipt that no exchanges or refunds. If she told me that before I purchased, I would have never bought from them. This is furniture that comes from china in a container via ship that sits in a warehouse, not something that was custom made locally. They could've easily exchanged it and in return my loyalty wouldve remained with them, so I spent the rest of the $30,000 to furnish my home with Jordans furniture in Coquitlam B.C, Canada. I will never shop at Ashley again and neither will any of may family or friends. I am a new resident to Canada. That is not how we do business where I'm from. read more

We bought a set of bedroom furnitures in the Heritage store location and the after sale service is horrible. We paid for delivery and assembling and when the products arrived today, there were some parts missing from the warehouse so they could not finish the bed. We were told the customer service will contact us in 2hrs after they guys left, however, never happened. My husband had to call the general line and find out what the deal. Then we were told we had to wait for more than 2 weeks for a technician to come and finish it. More than 2 weeks! where are they expected us to sleep then? It's ridiculous. And we tried to contact this store manager and never called back either... This is not the first time. We bought a cabinet before here and told we could pick up from a warehouse on a day and when we went, it was closed! Enough experience with Ashely. They might have good products, but it's pain to deal with them. And to be honest, there are many other good furniture stores to choose from in the city, why have to be them? I right away did some research online about their customer service, man, i wish i could have read them before my purchase. I bought a new sofa , I waited 3 weeks for delivery, after that it was delivered in broken conditions,and they didn't accept any refunds because it was delivered and opened in my house. When I call customer service they told me , we have to order new elements and you have to wait 2 months. Finally after one week was specialist to check the problem, that guy was very rude .No apollogize no exuse tryed to change new good elements to used elements. I purchased 6,000.00 worth of furniture 1 year ago on a 2 year interest free financing program I was promised at Ashley Furniture store. I made every payment for 1 year and was then charged a renewal fee of $21.00 which I was not told about. I was told my payments would stay the same for 2 years no interest. I over payed every month and paid $250.00 when my payments were only 248.35. I phoned when I received the statement charging me the renewal fee and said I was not told about this. I also paid 270.00 that month. My next statement showed and interest charge of 77.00. I called both the store and the financing company again and said I was promised 2 years no interest. they said I missed my payment and they cancelled my plan. This is basically theft in my opinion since I have paid every month I was not told about this and neither company will do anything about it. They have both basically told me they are not reversing the charges or honoring the plan I signed onto. read more

First and last time for Ashley Furniture for this household. Purchased a bed Jan 14, 2019 it is Apr 15, 2019 and we still do not have a complete bed. Was told we could pick up Feb 8th, 2019, they called us on Feb 6th to advise that their warehouse was full and if they could deliver for free but not until Feb 20th, 2019 (which means it was probably not even available for us to pick up). On Feb 20th, 2019 received the bed however one of the brackets that go into the footboard was upside down. Called them immediately to advise of this problem, said could send a new bracket out "rush", didn't receive it until Apr 9th, was given a song and dance that it was on backorder only after having called the 5th time on a weekly basis. When we received the bracket the holes didn't back up with the old bracket and would cause the holes to now be oval shaped, Called them again Apr 9th, 2019 and still waiting for the resolution of this problem. read more

I recently purchased a series of items from Ashley Furniture that were delivered a week ago. My purchase totalled 4 items... of the 4 items delivered, 3 arrived with some level of damage. Ashley furniture has a policy of making attempts to repair a damaged item, or offering you a pathetic discount to leave the furniture as is, rather than replace the furniture they delivered in damaged condition in the 1st place. Ashley has also been extremely difficult to get in touch with to correct the issue; I feel as if I have spend hours on hold or on the phone with them to try and get this issue resolved. I have tried to explain that it is unacceptable to deliver such a large number of items damaged in a single order, and yet i have to wait nearly a month for a technician to come and look at the furniture just to decide what will happen with it. In previous "repair experience" with Ashley (under a warranty issue), this means i will be waiting nearly a month for the person to come look at the furniture, and nearly another month for someone to come actually do something about it (should they choose to attempt to fix the issues). BE extremely forewarned about Ashley Furniture's policies regarding fixing their damaged furniture, and do not be surprised if one or more items you may have purchased from them arrive in less than perfect shape. read more

I will never purchase anything from Ashley Furniture ever again!!! My husband and I had bought a bedroom set from there about 5 years ago and we were so happy with our purchase. We returned late last year to purchase a dining room set and it has been nothing but a nightmare! We bought our set mid December and it was delivered early January. The table had lacquer over-spray so half the table was rough and half was smooth. Two of the chairs had already started splitting at the joints and they were still delivered that way. The two chairs were replaced only to have one of the ones that were just replaced break the same day! The table has been reordered 5 different times only to have them damaged upon arrival. It is now the end of June and we still have a broken chair (the other 5 are weak and falling apart) and a table that is unsatisfactory. I am now in the process of fighting for a full refund. They are offering a store credit but there is nothing else we need or want to purchase. WE WILL NEVER BE SHOPPING THERE AGAIN!!! read more

I purchased a bedroom suite from Ashley and have had nothing but trouble and disappointment. The delivery took several weeks to prepare, which I expected. On the day of the delivery, I removed my prior bedroom suite from the bedroom to allow for delivery. When the delivery came, they informed me then that despite waiting for all the pieces to be available, the bed was damaged and was not delivered. There was also obvious damage on the dresser drawer and high boy drawer. It looked like they had tried to repair a part of the drawer, although unsuccessfully. After this, I was told to call in the damage within 2 days or it wouldn't be covered, which I did. The bed was finally delivered a couple of weeks later. Since ordering in mid June, and delivery in early July, I have been trying to get Ashley to repair or replace the drawers. I went to see the store in person, and told that the parts were all ready, and would be delivered on Sep 21. The manager also acknowledged that the service was unreasonable, and offered me a $200 credit, which is the only good part of the service I received. The day before the repair was scheduled, they called to say they would be there between noon and 2. I stayed home from work for the third time, and they didn't show up or even call. If you buy from them, I hope everything you order shows up and shows up in good condition, or else you may be in for a customer service nightmare! read more

We bought a sofa set and a love seat from Ashley in July 2012. What was sold to us as a better product (after waiting for 5 weeks).. and superior quality in comparison to any tom Dick and harry and for that matter Bricks or any superior store ... which according to them doesnt stand a comparison........ Was an utter piece of garbage. In three months the foam was levelling the wood.. We complained and whined and griefed ... and after 4 attempts...some twitting and some social networking help... they changed the seats... Only to be replaced by an inferior quality one. All i can say... dont go on the sales pitch... its not worth.. U can get a much better service from Ikea or any smaller companies and yes at a much cheaper price and better quality... At the least they would not talk rude. Spending 2600$ i would say its not even half the worth of money!! If you think you have money to splurge.. then waste it on them... We have had our couches (purchased at the Calgary store) for 18 months and they are falling apart. 2 of the frame supports have fallen off and are stcking out of the back of the couch. The leather seams are pulling apart so that the backrest cushions are pulling away from the back support of the couch - exposing the upholsetry stuffing underneath. This should never happen with couches that cost this much, and certainly not within 18 months of normal wear and tear. Stay far away from Ashley Furniture! read more

I had the last go around with Ashley Furniture store in Red Deer! We purchased an accent cabinet in mid November, lots of time to get before Christmas! Not when it comes to Ashley, they say 3 weeks, but its never 3 weeks, more like 5 or 6. I had to contact the call centre to find out when my item will be here, so they tell me Saturday.... so we plan to go pick up ( i even called in the morning to confirm item on truck to Red Deer from Calgary). I was told YES, expect call from store. I called the store inquire, was told to "we'll get back to you"... and NOTHING! I call again, by now I am pissed. I spoke with store manager, and called back to tell me to wait for few more days! Which puts me at Christmas and no cabinet! and will be 6 weeks later. DONT NOT BUY ANY SORT OF WARRANTY!!! i bought the extended warranty for my couch, the sales lady told me specifically it covers everything right down to stains and tears. well i call to get a tear fixed and for them to responded take 2 weeks, only for them to tell me that the warranty covers structure damage on the legs and if the cushions aren't fluffy anymore.... total rip off and i'm out $170 read more

I will never enter this store again due to the disrespectful way they treat their clients. I bought $3k sectional sofa with them, they had one month to deliver it and they delivered the wrong orientation of the sofa. Instead of them taking them burden to fix their mistake, they throw the responsibility on you for contacting the warehouse and the sales person. They had told us they had the right sofa in stock and would deliver it on the following week. Guess what? During the week, after getting no replies back from anyone, we find out, by going to the store and talking to the manager, that they didn't have the right sofa and the delivery would have to be postponed. On top of that they don't even care about trying to offer you anything to try and make up for the huge inconvenience. read more

We shopped around forever for the perfect couch set for our new house, we were so excited to find a beautiful couch set at Ashley and we did our due diligence, and decided to go ahead with the purchase. HOWEVER, fast forward 3 months, we were noticing REALLY bad pilling happening on the fabric, we chalked it up to wear and tear. Fast fwd again another 3 months and the fabric is so pilled that people COMMENT on it when they come over to our house...its EMBARRASSING! We called customer service, and surprise surprise they do not warranty the fabric, or would not return our couches because we were dissatisfied. They sent out a tech out, he came over and stuffed our pillows so full they are ridiculous to sit with on the couch, and basically told us that its our problem about the fabric because Ashley doesn't stand behind their products. So needless to say we spent alot of money on a couple of couches that will be in the landfill sooner than later, but one thing we know for sure...we WILL NOT BE BUYING A SINGLE THING FROM ASHLEY FURNITURE AGAIN. SAVE YOUR MONEY and go somewhere that has BETTER service, and BETTER quality! read more

Update: It's been almost 6 weeks now and no replacement yet. They have delayed delivery several times. Their last call was to tell me that they would have to delay delivery because they LOST the machine. They dont't know where the machine is. Interesting enough they had confirmed delivery time just the day before. Confused and disrespectful company. Stay away from Ashley and Maytag, they really don't care about their customer. and will make your life hell. ---- I bought a pair of Maytag washer/drier from Ashley in Calgary. The dryer arrived defective. They told me I would have to wait between 2 to 3 weeks for a replacement, and that was after waiting for almost 10 days for a technician. I asked for my money back, but they would only offer a store credit. All I can say is this: Don't buy from this store, and most certainly do not buy Maytag products. read more

We spend the day furniture shopping and hit up many of Ashley's competitors such as the Brick, Leons, etc. The experience at furniture stores is relative since they're all trying to get the most margin out of their product lines. The big difference maker in my experience seems to be service. The people who work at the Brick and Leons are unacceptably ignorant of customer service. At least at Ashley I was able to find the manager who helped me work through our questions. The showroom is nicely staged and the product line seems to be of better quality than the competition. The furniture is made in the US (not China) and like many furniture stores, the price is flexible. That's a major point to note since your experience in the price category is completely up to how good a negotiator you are. We haven't gotten delivery of our pieces yet but hopefully that side of the experience is as positive as the purchase was. read more

We bought our bedroom and living room set through Ashley's. Our sales person (Pardeep?) was great and helped us work within our budget and figure out the financing. The delivery day was set up for the day when we got possession of our new place. Everything arrived on time. The day before, I was informed that our couch did have a tear in it. They quickly arranged a day to have if repaired. After getting our bedroom set assembled by the efficient and friendly delivery crew, we discovered that our bed did not fit the room. It went from one wall to the other with no space to get around. The dresser we ordered was also too large. Well, after reading our receipt, we understood that we would have to pay a 10% restocking fee. So the next day we went down to talk to our sales associate and he spoke to the manager who waived the restocking fee, gave us free delivery on our new bed and taller dresser (and to take away the other one, even though it was now used). And it was completely our fault for not measuring the room properly! The next delivery was completed promptly and in the time window they gave us. Now, back to the damaged couch. They had a repair man come and fix it on a day I was off which also happened to be Christmas Eve! The poor guy was working on Christmas Eve and he completed the job quickly and cleaned up the mess he made with couch stuffing. I couldn't believe the service we received from this location and I am shocked at all the negative reviews regarding delivery and damages. Yes we had some minor damage, but I think Ashley's went above and beyond to make us satisfied customers! We will be coming back in the future and I have recommended them to family already. read more

I want to warn anyone going to this store about a salesperson named Tommy. This afternoon my mother and I went to browse and we were greeted by Tommy who started by asking us what we were looking for - we said just browsing - he said because the store is so large and confusing (??) he would be our tour guide. My mother then politely told him that we were fine to browse on our own. He said No. I have NEVER, EVER in my life had a salesperson tell me NO when I request to browse. My mother then said maybe we should leave and he sad that was our choice (I believe the exact word he used was prerogative). We didn't leave tho as we wanted to still see what was in the store...he proceeded to follow us at close range and I overheard him say to other sales people we passed that he was just trying to help us out. We left the store feeling threatened and angry. Is this how Ashley Furniture trains it's male sales people? To treat women poorly, to try and bully us, to not respect our requests? Ashley Furniture in Lethbridge, AB. They just want to make $$$ - don't give you the facts. I bought a desk which consisted of 3 pieces and they never told me it was discontinued, even bought the 10 years warrantee. When something went wrong with it they said they'd give me a refund or replacement for the damaged piece but for not the whole desk. Right. Buy another piece that doesn't match. We had the worst customer service ever; we make our order for purchasing recliner sofa from Ashley heritage about few days ago , after delivering of the order we discovered that it is not the one we make agreement to purchase ; we liked the power sofa which was there in the show room and the sales representative put the price in the agreement accordingly; even she didn't discuss any thing related to two option to choose ( power or not power but the only one we saw and tried was the power one !!!) when hardly returned to them; they made a lot of change in what actually happened and even with no prober time response . now they refuse to take back their wrong delivery or even to cancel the order unless we pay 10% administration fees ( although not our mistake ) . It is very hard experience we faced ; specially ... at this time of year even they waste our chance to make a use from purchasing another one from all other dealer in boxing day. read more

My family dropped by this location on Nov. 12 in hopes of finding a new dining table and chairs. We found one and, before we bought, we asked if all the pieces were in stock. We were told everything but a bench was in stock. So we purchased; it was about $2,000, which we were charged right away. We were told we'd have to wait until Nov. 26 for the delivery. We were ok with a two-week wait. Then on Nov. 25, we were told the set was not in stock and the delivery would need to happen Dec. 17 but, even then, there would be no guarantee the pieces would be available. Well, today, the set arrived but the table had no hardware so it could not be assembled. The table needed to go back to the store. Customer service told me they could process an order for a new table within two weeks but couldn't provide any idea when a new table would show up. We said, 'No thanks, give us our money back,' but the customer service agent told me to brace for a fight because we would need to pay a $250 'restocking' fee. So, to recap: Ashley lies about a product being in stock, keeps our money for what would surely be two months at least, and when they can't deliver the 'in-stock' product we paid for, they get a 10 percent-plus cut. We would NEVER shop at Ashley Furniture again. WORST experience ever! The sales process was simple and we left feeling confident about our purchase... all went down hill from there. We picked up our dining set and chairs - only to get it home and find that 2 of the chairs were different colours. . . and one couldn't be put together properly because the holes were not drilled out enough. If we were to drill them ourselves this would be considered "altering" the product and thus void our warranty. Customer service was useless and basically told us to live with it. We went to the store to put up a fuss, and they let customer service know they should handle it. Customer service was rude, unhelpful and although one person said they would send someone to us to replace the bad furniture (the glass on the table was cracked as well) another said "oh no we don't do that". One person said someone would be at our house on Saturday Morning... we made plans around that. Then they called and said a "technician" would come by to look on Saturday AFTERNOON and they would go from there ... even though ANOTHER person told us our new furniture was at the warehouse... All I can say is WTF!?!?! They need to get their story straight!!! The chairs are horrible quality... they aren't even square!! We were told everything was made in the United States... what a load of *&^%. Made in China. Packed and shipped in the States. NEVER again.
