Please read the corporate reviews before giving Ashley any money. There are hundreds of stories of people being ripped off. They got me with a warranty scam buying a $9 mattress cover for $99. Did not shop this store but since it is a representative of the Ashley brand I feel the need to share my Ashley experience. My purchase was online. I cleared my old dining set out Thursday in anticipation of my Friday delivery. The table came out of the box with scratches long/short light and deep. It was a mess. I contacted Ashley and they told me that it was a vendor that they deal with so they couldn't help but would inform them and gave me a number to call them. My purchase was on the Ashley website using my Ashley credit card, but they couldn't assist me. The day went on and I didn't hear from anyone so I reached back out to Ashley. At this point I'm asked what do I want to do. I asked for a full refund. I was asked if was willing to pay the return cost of the table? No! She said it would be 3-5 days before I hear from someone who will tell me how to return it. So as of now my family has no where to sit and have dinner. Thanks Ashley. read more

I went to Ashley to look for a new living room set, and was quite pleased. Their showroom is immaculate and well stocked. Their salesman, David Herndon, was incredible. David spent a lot of time helping my wife and I find the perfect suit, which was slightly frustrating, as I can be somewhat picky. After a week of looking and debating, we found the perfect living room suit. David had us written up in no time. Even the ladies at the front desk were funny and personable. Needless to say, my wife and I left the store with giant smiles on our faces. When we showed up three days later with a truck to pick up our furniture, David was actually out there loading everything on the truck for us. I am so pleased with the level of dedication and friendliness of their staff. I cannot say enough nice things about Ashley's selection and personable service. I will definitely be stopping by Ashley again for my next purchase. read more

Drove an hour and a half to patronize this store when I have one 12 minutes away from my house. Had been here before and was treated well so I wanted to give them my business. Won't ever go back. Internet search showed closing time at 8 pm on Saturday. Arrived at 6 pm. Greeted by young girl and told her we were looking at couches. Was told to go look along back wall. No willingness to help at all. A few minutes before 7 a guy came and told us they were going to be closing in a few minutes. Told them internet said they closed at 8 pm. but it didn't matter. We left and they locked doors and walked out at 7 on the nose. They lost our business because we WON'T be back! read more

Be careful - this store does not take in store payments. I called and asked if I could make a payment over the phone and they said no. So I asked if I could come by and make a payment and they said yes. So I took the time to go over there to make the payment and when I walked in and told them I was there to make a payment on my account they acted like I had three heads. No one knew what to do. They all just stood there looking at me. I had to be the one to ask question until I could figure out I had to go to Wells Fargo to make a payment. They do not handle anything dealing with the money such as making payments. This is one reason I would go to Schewels before I ever buy anything from here again. I actually like this store. Beautiful showroom that invites you to furnish your home. Nice sales guy, but too friendly. When I finally found what I wanted, very little was explained and the lady handling the paperwork didn't seem to know what she was doing. In spite of, I made a purchase anyway because I really liked the furniture.They sent the pillows home with me. First mistake, I had to wait over 2 weeks to get it. 2nd mistake, the delivery guys couldn't get in the room. They said they were afraid to mess up something and said they could leave it and we could get it in. What kind of mess is that? 3rd mistake, when I went back to the store to get my money back, I was told somebody said I wanted to keep the pillows. Really! Really! Ashley, you should have went a little extra for the customer, because I went straight to Schewels. read more

Just purchased my 6th living room suite from Ashley Furniture (my second set from the Danville store) and let me just tell you NEVER AGIN! The absolute worst customer service experience ever mainly from the sales manager Xavier! Not only was he rude and condescending. He spoke down to me and over me numerous time! I was promised my furniture would be delivered tomorrow the 23rd and received a call Tuesday, 4 days before scheduled delivery that it wouldn't be delivered. I purchased THREE WEEKS AGO! So after speaking with Chris (who is actually very nice and gets left to clean up the sales manager Xavier's messes which is very obvious) I was given the option to pick up furniture from the store on The 21st So I scrambled to have the furniture picked up (even though I was off the 23rd specifically for the furniture to be delivered). Once we got the furniture home it was apparent the sofa was dirty and used!!! I was then told by Xavier that it was mine now and nothing could be done. Basically not his problem! I then went on the ask about the table I had also purchased and when it would be delivered. Only to be informed that even though I was told it would be here in December it would not be until January and I had to also come pick it up! I went back and forth on that only to be talked over by Xavier and told it was a courtesy to even be able to pick it up at the Danville store and not have to drive to Kernersville ! I ended the conversation abruptly and knowing that I will never buy there again! So make sure and shop elsewhere because the headache of that place isn't worth it! read more

I wanted to share my story so that potential Ashley Furniture buyers have a clear understanding on why it's so important to shop around. This particular purchase was not an impulse buy, and I did indeed shop around, for several months in fact. I went to Ashley as well as other stores for three months looking at the living room furniture. Finally, after several months of deliberating, I decided on the Cosmo Marble L-shaped set from Ashley in Danville, VA. As mentioned previously, I spent an extensive amount of time trying this couch out, and every time I went into the store I sat on it for up to an hour. I purchased the couch/chaise/ottoman set in November 2014, and that's when the nightmare began. The day they delivered I sat on each piece before I would sign-off for the delivery. The couch had a scraping noise when I sat on one particular part of the couch, and also, on the same section of couch, it felt like I was sitting in a huge hole. I had the delivery man confirm my speculations, and afterwards, he called his manager and discussed the issue. The manager said he was going to send out the individual who handled customer complaints with delivered furniture. However, this individual was not set to arrive until three weeks from then, so, I had some time to try out the couch extensively. Words honestly cannot express how dissatisfied and disgusted I am by how cheaply the furniture is made. The arm of the couch, which you would think you could lean against, causes you to readjust after just fifteen minutes. You can actually feel the wood and cheap insulation crunching around in the arms of the couch. You also continually have to readjust while sitting on this couch - it feels as if you are sitting on the frame. All of these experiences happened within the first week of having the piece. Naturally, I called Ashley the second week of having this furniture to talk with the manager. I told him how dissatisfied I was, and his first response was, "Oh, well just so you know, there's a 30% restocking fee." Additionally, the throw pillows that came with the couch are completely different than the ones on display. The ones in-store are filled with down feather, and the ones I got were filled with the same filling found in cheap pillows. I commented on this and the manager noted that, quote, "Ashley reserved the right to change the filling inside the pillows without notice" (no joke). Anyway, fast forward to when the guy came back to look at the furniture. He came in and inspected the furniture. The first thing he did was flip the couch over and remove the block cloth on the bottom. He said the scraping noise came from a bent nail that was scratching the wood (no problem, I guess). Next, I asked him why the furniture was sitting so low. He responded with, "Oh, I can fix that too!" So he put on his coat, and when I asked him where he was going, he said he was going to go to Lowe's to buy a wooden board to put under the springs so they wouldn't go down as much when someone sat in it. (Is this actually happening?) I told him, "Absolutely not, I paid $1,700 for the furniture, and I am not settling on a board under the springs." So, he called the manager and told him that I deemed this unacceptable, so they agreed to send me a new couch. I was told this would take eight weeks. By the time it arrived, indeed, eight weeks later, the delivery men took a chunk out of my front door, tore a hole in the black cloth on the bottom of one section, and scraped my newly polyurethaned wood floors. A month passes. I call Ashley again to tell them how cheap the furniture is and how there is no resting on this furniture. To give you in-depth descriptions: you feel the frame in every position you sit in, your body aches when you get up, the cushions go flat immediately, and the pillows are uncomfortable. The manager, in the end, never called me back. So, I went to the store and this is what they offered me: I could restock (for 30%), or pick out a different living room suite for the same value. I did look at the other available furniture, and nothing was good at all. I just wanted to let other prospective Ashley buyers to beware of the quality of the furniture and customer service. Higher priced than online merchants for the same furniture. Delivery charges are based on value of purchase. My $3K buy would cost me around $200 to delivery 12 blocks away. Won't negotiate on anything. There are better values out there. read more
