I purchased a mattress for the East Peoria, IL store on a Saturday. It was supposed to be in that Monday and delivered by the following weekend. 3 week later still no mattress so I canceled the order. A month later I was billed on my Ashley's credit over $1000.00 for a restock fee for something that never got delivered. I tried calling the store and they were unwilling to work with me and were very rude. I will never buy from them again!!! Nothing but a bunch of thieves!!!! read more

If I could leave negative stars I would. I bought a very expensive sofa sleeper about 2 years ago. The cushion stitching fell apart. They sent me new covers. They then proceeded to sell me an extended warranty in case it happened in the future. Of course, it did and they will not approve the claim. Now, Ashley is passing the buck and saying it's a third party warranty and there's nothing they can do. The sofa is garbage and not even paid off yet. This might be the absolute worst example of service I have ever seen. We purchased a sofa, loveseat headboard and frame and were clear we needed them before thanksgiving. We were told no problem by the sales person, the manager and the person who checked us out. They never called to set up delivery and when we called we were told they only deliver to our area once a month. They would make no special arrangements so we had to pick everything up. FROM 2 DIFFERENT LOCATIONS!!! When we went to attach headboard to frame the adapter kit they sold us didn't fit and we were told they don't make a bigger one so we should either buy the rest of the bed frame or drill holes in headboard to make it work. I am very tempted to return everything and go spend more elsewhere. Again the worst buying experience I have ever seen and I wouldn't spend another dime with this company ever. read more

FURNITURE FELL APART AFTER 3 YEARS! My husband and I have been loyal Ashely Furniture customers for nearly a decade. Unfortunately, we are so disappointed in our 2013 purchase that we will no longer do business with Ashley. We purchased a DURABLEND sofa that was soft and comfy until the faux leather began to peal. We also purchased the protection plan for an additional $100- I was not worried as Ashely has worked with us in the past to replace faulty furniture. I should have been worried. After MONTHS of paperwork and contacting the protection plan company, this particular store branch, and the corporate offices none of these would help repair or replace my flaking sofa. The corporate office told me "This is a known issue" and offered to pay me $100 to sign a waiver not allowing me to post this review. Obviously I chose to share my experience with you in hopes that you will not be stuck with a large purchase that quickly turns into unusable furniture. Please don't purchase any of the DURABLED furniture and carefully consider if they are still selling this material- and it is a known issue- what the quality of other materials they are choosing to sell may be. Please don't be fooled by the protection plans they sell at exorbitant prices as it protected exactly nothing in this case. read more

I would give them no- or minus- stars if I could. Bought our furniture in December, 2020 and have yet to receive about half of the order. They have most of the balance in stock, but won't deliver it until it all gets in. We have complained but they don't really care. They got their money, so why should we get our furniture? Ashley Furniture rates a minus ten on a recent chair purchase and delivery after this horrible experience. I purchased a chair and agreed upon the $49 delivery cost. On the day of delivery an emergency procedure kept me late at work and I was unable to be at home for the delivery. Ashley Furniture contacted me to reschedule the delivery and told me there would be a $25 cancel fee since they could not deliver. The $25 fee was probably in the small print. They also told me there would be another $49 charge for the rescheduled delivery. I called to ask to have the $25 removed. I thought taking away the $25 fee would be an appropriate customer service nicety since I was going to pay another $49 for the delivery. I was told three times in a row that I was not at home to receive the chair and that the charge would remain. So there it is. After $123 in delivery charges Ashley Furniture has taught me an important lesson. Be very careful when having furniture delivered from Ashley. Protect your carpets and hardwood floors from the disrespectful delivery guys too. The photo shows the snow they tracked in on my floors. Even the cable guy takes his shoes off without my asking. Then finally they printed out, I signed it and now they're wrapping my diff. Item replacement. It was again a disaster when their manager with the bucked front wisdom tooth approached them saying someone already had picked that item out and she don't wanna loose a sale. So she went ahead and took it back from us even though we already had signed it and they're already wrapping it for us. We were so mad and disappointed. Now again we were told to go check out diff. Item. We didn't like anything so came back to counter. And the lady manager with the buck front tooth was super sarcastic and said she's going to give a refund and walked out hide at the back and let her slow associated do it. Again it was way too long and asked me to give them my social security. I no longer trusted them so I asked for cash back instead. They said they can't and only in my card which needs my social and more processing to get it done. Who know if they messed up the amount knowing how slow and experimenting they are on processing refunds ect. So I decided to pick an item in the store. I picked what I want , went back to front desk and another 40 min to process my return and the item I picked! We were more than aggravated and their lady manager with the bucked wisdom front tooth interrupted, apologized sarcastically and said she's only human? That's not the point. You don't have to lecture me about that. We're not stupid. My fiance and I bought a mattress and bedroom furniture set the first weekend of October. The bedroom furniture set we could take whenever, but we asked to have it shipped with the mattress which we were told would take 4-8 weeks. 2 weeks later we got a notification that the mattress had arrived and I called to schedule delivery. We ended up deciding to pick everything up at the warehouse in Normal,IL, which was not a problem. I talked to someone on two different occasions to verify that everything was actually there and scheduled a time to pick it up, which wasn't for a couple of days. 10 minutes before arriving (which it is a 45 minute drive for us) we got a call saying our mattress was not there and it was 'mistakenly' received. We decided to get the furniture so it wasn't a wasted trip. When we got there the warehouse manager fed us a bunch of lies which at the time we thought he was being genuine. He told us he would expedite the mattress and it would be here in 2 weeks from that time, that it would get delivered the day it came in even if it meant he would deliver it himself, and he didn't charge us for delivery (which was the only thing that actually did happen) and he also offered to take our old mattress for us. When we got home we had discovered we got our furniture but we also got a part of someone else's bedroom furniture. So clearly something is extremely disorganized within that warehouse. Also, within 1 week of having the bed set up, the support beams in the middle broke! My fiance had to use 2x6 wooden post to make support beams. 2-3 weeks later we still didn't have a mattress so we called and I was referred to talk to the manager of the Peoria store-Ally. She then informed us that there was no way our mattress would have came in that quickly and that even expediting it doesn't make it come in any quicker due to COVID. Therefore we called Ally every week asking where our mattress was and 10 weeks later we finally were told it came in, but shocker, we didn't get it delivered the day it came in. I asked the warehouse manager not to deliver it until 3:30 the day they were going to deliver it because I would not be home from work until then and my mom was by herself at my house watching my 6 month old and 2 dogs. We were also supposed to get a phone call before delivery- it states that in the delivery paperwork. At 3:15 they showed up and they did not call. I called my mom to make sure they took the old mattress and the delivery driver got on the phone and said he wasn't told to do that and asked who told me that they would, to which I said his manager. I then asked why I didn't get a phone call before and he said he's just going off the time on the paperwork and I asked him if it was 3:30 yet- he responded very rudely, would you like me to stay?! By the time I got home they were gone. I called Ally and told her about this and she called her superior and who I am assuming is the Operations manager-Patrick. He was supposed to call me on the matter. I have not received a phone call from him. The service we received has by far been the worst service I have ever seen and experienced. I have worked customer service jobs my whole life and currently work in the logistics business and building material/home improvement business and I know that the behavior we have experienced would never be tolerated and if any of our customers experienced anything like this, we would have been all over it to make it right. That has not been the case here. Disappointed is an understatement. I will never shop here again, nor will I recommend anyone to shop here. read more

BEWARE of using Ashley Furniture. Our sofa and loveseat were damaged by the delivery team and our basement stairwell was damaged on BOTH SIDES by the men. It took over 2 months of email correspondence and, finally, calling the supervisor of the claims representative 3 times before we even STARTED to resolve the situation. We received a small compensation to have ONE wall painted. I would never buy anything at Ashley Furniture - the store manager was unresponsive to the problem saying that it is the delivery company's responsibility. It is the manager's responsibility to utilize a delivery company that does not damage your home with total disregard. Over 1 month from order no furniture and lack of communication and customer service. We worked with Nick for this order and he was a great sells man. Once we placed the order is when the nightmare started. I really wanted to support local business and wished I had just placed my order with a company that knows how to better handle their logistics. We placed an order for a leather sectional and ottoman in June! we were told we would hear an update regarding our delivery date and so that we could make arrangements....almost a month went by we heard nothing! We called the store several times, transferred multiple time and nobody could give us an answer. We got an email the day before the scheduled delivery which was in the middle of a workday. When I called to reschedule they made it seem like I was the one in the wrong and would have to pay a redelivery fee to get the date and time change but could NOT provide any proof of when we had agreed to the initial delivery date and time and therefore had to reschedule the date and time without the fee but it was a long process. The day of the new delivery was supposed to be August 4th I was given a time between 10-2p. I got rid of my old couches to make space for the new ones. I have 2 kids just had a death in the family and had family coming into town and no place to sit! 2pm came and went no call no couches from Ashley..... I called them and the truck driver was apparently in an accident and my furniture was damaged ..... I can't fault Ashley for that but there was still no communication. Sunday August 5th, I go to the store and speak with the manager Shun his response was so don't know what's going on can't do anything but would contact me 1st thing on Monday .... Monday came and went no update no communication ...today is Tuesday customer care says ...we still don't know what's going on.... I bought a reclining love sofa. First one had a flaw. The second one had the same problem. Was told that Ashley would order a third sofa. After three weeks I went to the store only to find they forgot to order the replacement sofa. So I told them that I wanted a different sofa. They agreed and gave me a 100 dollar gift certificate which I used. The manager said that he would be a rush on the order. Two weeks later I called the store and asked for the manager. He wasn't in so I left a message. Next day I called and found out the sofa had arrived. I requested a Saturday delivery, no problem. On Thursday I received a call to set up my "Friday" delivery. I declined the Friday delivery. I called the lady in charged of deliveries.and told her that I had requested a Saturday delivery. She apologized for being unaware of my Saturday delivery request. I will never purchase anything from Ashley furniture again. Purchased a durablend couch and love seat for our house from the Peoria Ashley Furniture. I was impressed with how the furniture looked, and the salesperson eased my concerns about the durablend material stating it was more durable then leather. I purchased the pair and they were placed in my living room. The furniture was rarely used as we mainly spend time in the family room in the basement. Last year I noticed one of the arm rests on the couch looked like someone took sand paper to it, and was beginning to flake. I knew the furniture was probably out of warranty, so I was disappointed especially since it was so lightly used. I threw a blanket over the worn area so it wasn't so noticeable. Recently I noticed the love seat is starting to crack and come apart as well. I began researching the durablend furniture and see I'm not the only one having these problems. Sounds like there have been multiple news stories done about this garbage, numerous complaints, and multiple class action lawsuits. Why this furniture wasn't recalled is beyond me. I learned that Ashley wasn't honoring the warranty's on the durablend furniture. I called the store for help and they explained the only thing they could do for me is give me 99.99 off my next purchase, which was what I paid for my warranty. Due to the furniture being out of warranty I wasn't expecting a full refund, but I was expecting a little better then what I got, especially for a defective product. We are in need of a new kitchen table and now a couch and love seat. We had asked for gift cards to Ashley for Christmas, which we recently told our family we changed our minds. We won't be giving Ashley any more of our money if they don't back their product. read more

Purchased furniture with cash from them that we needed the following week which the salesperson, sales manager and financial person all assured would be fine. Even bought the couch and loveseat off the floor instead of ordering to make this possible. Was told that furniture would be transferred to the warehouse on Wednesday and then we would get a call to set up delivery. When I didn't receive a call I called them and was told they only deliver to my town the first Friday of the month which was 2 weeks away. So if we wanted it in time we had to pick it up from 2 different locations in Peoria and Bloomington(BECAUSE IT HAD NEVER BEEN TRANSFERRED TO THE WAREHOUSE!) When we set up the headboard and bed frame, they didn't fit. Talked to Ashley and they informed us that we could either buy the entire bed (for another $1500) or drill holes into the frame. We recently bought our bed at Ashley Furniture. The prices can't be beat (we shopped around at all the other local places to find a bed). The store itself is full, and is actually fun to walk around if you are shopping for something new for your home. It's pretty well organized too which is nice if you are looking for something specific. We purchased a floor model of furniture. We sat on the couch but not the chair. Got it home and discovered the chair was broken. They refused to replace it. Through many conversation, eventually went to the owner who allowed us to exchange for equal or greater value chair. Due to pattern, had to order new chair and had to pay for a new chair which was another 200 dollars. Would never have paid that much for an occasional chair. I purchased a complete living room set from the Knoxville store. I paid extra to buy the same furniture locally. Found out that they only deliver to my town 1 day a month. Got notified a couple days before the delivery that the couch had been damaged with a razor blade. They would have to re-order the couch. This would take 10 - 12 days to get the new couch in. They would try to get the couch to me right away. Well right away meant another month wait. Because of the delivery schedule that they have with my town. They would go ahead and deliver the loveseat and recliner. Both of these items were delivered missing parts and damaged. The customer service rep for Ashley in my mind was rude. She said something about me buying the furniture on-line. I had to inform her that I did not purchase the furniture on-line. I bought it at their store in Peoria and paid 500.00 extra to do so. This has not been a good experience and will likely be the last time that I purchase anything from Ashley. I will inform all of my friends and relatives about this experience. read more

We purchased 2k worth of furniture from this location on May 29th. The salesperson told us everything was in stock and should be delivered with 7 to 10 days. At the sales counter the lady told us it is standard protocol to tell everyone it could take up to 40 some days to deliver. Today is July 17th. Still no furniture. I called the store last week and talked to a person who was supposed to give the manager my number and call me back. Well, never got the call. So I drove the 25 miles back to the store to talk in person 3 day later. The guy at the counter deferred to the delivery scheduler. She offered me 50 bucks. I said I wanna talk to the manager. They were in a meeting supposedly. So I gave her my number and the manager called me finally the next day and I asked to refund my delivery fee of 150. He said they could only do 75. This company is one of the worst companies I have ever had the displeasure of working with! After spending a significant amount of money purchasing bedroom sets for 3 of our children which all arrived damaged. One bed is damaged to the point it doesn't even go together, so my daughter is sleeping on a mattress on the floor while her $700 bed sits and waits to be fixed! When the furniture was delivered the delivery guys were late getting there they argued and fought with one another, and they tracked mud all over our brand new carpet. We went the next day with pictures to the store manager who said they would take care of things and make them right. Well now almost 2 months later the bed still sits because I refuse to take off work to fix their mistakes and since the company they employ to fix their broken furniture can not give you time frames they will be out until the day before they come it still sits! Just last week I finally received a phone call from their "customer services" department about the delivery. Their solution was well next time(there will NEVER be a next time) you need to let us know right away because the company will clean your carpet. I did let your company know right away and it took your company a month and a half to get a hold of me about fixing the problem. I am not going to let mud sit on my 2 day old carpet for a month and a half to wait for your sorry excuse of a company to contact me about getting it taken care of. Their solution for making me happy with their service was to offer me a $100 gift card to "get me back in the doors" I don't want your gift cards I don't want to set foot inside your doors ever again all I wanted was my furniture repaired in a timely manner, my delivery fee returned and my carpet cleaned, not too much to ask for I don't think, I have yet to get any of that!! I hope people read this review and think twice about going to your store! We purchased the remainder of our furniture from Shermans here in town and they were no more expensive then Ashley and even though we had to have them come out and level our chairs for us it was taken care of within a couple of days and their delivery men took their shoes off when they entered our home! Oh and one more thing for those of you looking into buying here, if you purchase from them and pick up your own furniture they charge you to have it delivered to the store!! What a load of crap! I was shopping for an inexpensive area rug but pretty specific - orange with a lattice pattern. I found a solid orange rug at the store thinking I'd have to settle, but decided to wait to see if it would be on sale for black Friday. Turned out it wasn't so I started searching on line and found exactly what I had been looking for, even the price was right! I'm leery of buying large items on line and it's hard to see if the color was correct. I decided to take a chance and order it anyway and so glad I did. I order it on Friday and it arrived on Monday - free shipping! The color and pattern is perfect - exactly what I wanted. The delivery owner called but I have not heard back and never heard from Ashley. If wife had not seen the delivery people moving the branch, we could have only speculated on how it happened. Mike Bruegge who owns the store with his daughter Ellen is one of the rudest people I have ever had the displeasure of having to work with. First off my furniture was delivered a month later than the projected delivery date and when the furniture was delivered the delivery truck hit my phone line ripping it and part of my roof off of the house. When I turned in my reimbursment paperwork, Mike called me up and told me that it was my fault the truck destroyed my roof and that he refused to pay the entire repair bill because "I made it up." Actually though, Mike never turned in my reimbursement and although I have my furniture it has been 3 months and I have yet to be reimbursed for my roof repairs. I STRONGLY suggest you do not use Mike Bruegge's store to purchase Ashley furniture. UFS on Adams st. in downtown Peoria also sells Ashley furniture and while the furniture is nice, Mike Bruegge's customer service is terrible so if you dont want a headache while buying your furniture, deal with the nice people at UFS and receive the same furniture while buying it from people who care about their customer. read more

I just bought a bedroom set from Ashley Furniture. After speaking with my salesmen I decided on the Northshore set. He explained to me what the set included; a chest, a dresser (with mirror), the 2 piece bed (headboard and footboard), and one nightstand. That what their "Six piece set deal". I decided to purchase the furniture that day and it was supposed to arrive in three weeks. The bedroom set came in 3 days after I placed the order so I was really excited. I set up a delivery date with Ashley and when the furniture was being delivered we noticed the chest was missing. I called the company and they stated they saw the chest on my form and that they were deliver it to me at no cost but they would have to call back the next day. I called them two days later after nobody returned my call. After speaking with my local store (Peoria, IL) I talked to the guy that sold the furniture to me and he said he was mistaken and the chest was not included in my set and the bed was three pieces. The salesman also told me he was new to the company which told me he that was not very well trained. I asked to speak with a manager. The manager informed me that they were unable to help me and that he couldn't take my word that I was misinformed by his new employee. Instaed of taking action for thier mistake they told me I could purchase the chest individually...(duh). I asked if they would just allow me to return the furniture since it was a mistake on their behalf. The manager was very rude to me and told me that I could return it with a 30% restock fee. After speaking with him on the phone for about 30 minutes I was getting nowhere. He was rude the entire conversation and he was unable to help me at all. He stated that it was my, "fault for singing a contract and not reading it." I explained to him that the contract was very hard to read beacuse they were running out of ink and didn't have any to replace it. He said, "I wouldn't sign a contract that I couldn't read." After speaking with all of my co-workers and friends about this issue they all said they have heard many stories of Ashley being rude to customers and leading them in the wrong direction during the sale. Now I have the furniture in my bedroom with nothing in the mirror dresser because I can't transfer clothes from 2 old dressers into one new one. If I would have known I was only going to get one of the dressers for the price I paid I would have bought a different brand. Secondly, if I knew the way they treated their customers after a large purchase I would go to another company. I have bought furniture from American, Furniture Row, and JCP this year and I have not had any issues at all. This really says something about their company and I am very disapointed. I would like everyone to know to take their money elsewhere regardless of the cheap prices. They should make sure all of their employees know what is included in all of the sets so this is never an issue again. If Ashley wants to be considered a, "FAMILY home store" they should work better on their reputation. read more
