I was sold a warranty to protect furniture from accidental and incidental damage and wear and tare. There was an issue that was repaired under the manufacturers warranty. I had issues with the furniture wearing out cushion covers are fraying and now look terrible. I thought no big deal I purchased the warranty that was all inclusive. That warranty i found goes through furniture protection, and they decided that they will not cover any repairs. I called Ashley and asked for a refund on the warranty and was told that it would be prorated. I explained that the first call they refused to repair anything! I asked for a full refund and was told that was not possible so basically if you purchase the warranty then you will be paying for nothing, The equivalent of paying for a mythical being like Santa Clause and they will keep your money and let you pay for some idiot to sit in there office and say you were paying for the coverage that never really existed. read more

To be honest , I feel the location is great, plenty of displays to look at, but the pricing and the way they do things is often misleading and in the end almost deceptive. We left there feeling frustrated, exhausted from the amount of time it took and really wish we had shopped around more , which we will do ni the future. Also beware that if you see something in the store you like , like a lamp or chair, coffee table, painting , even if it has a price tag on it, you wont be able to take it with you that day. They will have to order it for you and have it shipped to you! Because of that, they lost probably close to 700.00 in business we would have given them that day in rugs, lamps, and other accessories we would have just bought and taken home had that been an option. Since we were going to have things shipped we opted to go home, go online and order that way, saved us a ton of money too. I also think the delivery fee for an in town delivery is a bit high, especially if you have an order over 1000.00 Again go online.. you can get free delivery from many places and the same or similar items at lower costs and avoid all the hassle of the in person location. I also dont like how they stalk you the second you walk in the door, even if you call you cant get a simple question answered without knowing if you have a saleman or being given one. I was stopped at the door by a lady who wouldn't allow me to proceed without discussing with her what I wanted. I told her that I had recently purchased a bed from another salesperson and I would like to work with him, but couldn't remember his name. She kept pushing and asking for a description of my salesman, I gave the best description I could and she listed several names. I still couldn't be certain, but I let her know I had his card at my house and would simply like to browse the store. She informed me that she couldn't let me do that because it was against store policy. She stepped in front of me so I couldn't proceed. I informed her that her behavior was rude and I left the store. I assume they want you with a salesperson so they can control you, but how ridiculous is it that they won't let you browse the store without having to entertain one of their salespeople. read more

I've purchased a sofa / loveseat set and a bedframe with a lovely salesperson named Dawn. She's soft spoken and not pushy. This is the reason why I came back for furniture after my house fire last year. I ordered a Franklin reclining sofa with build in massaging and pull down table. The sales person, not Dawn, said the item still had to be built so it will take 3-4 weeks for delivery. I agreed and 3 weeks later, the sofa came... Except one side of the sofa was lopsided therefore the recliner didn't come out and the arm rest looked like it had been scrubbed. The following day, I called Ashley's and a couple of days later, they came to pick it up and took it away. Two weeks later, a "new" sofa was brought in. I examined it carefully. It was actually the same exact sofa but they removed the area that was scrubbed and sew in a new fabric. I called the headquarters to report my case. They said they would have someone from the store call me within 24 to 48 hours. The manager called me and we arranged to have the sofa taken away. She said she would look into compensation. One week later, still no call. I called the store and they disconnected me several times, blaming that they were having phone problems. I even visited the store. They lied that the manager had gone for the day or was on vacation. The following week, I contacted the Better Business Bureau and opened a case with them. Finally the store manager contacted me back and said she could do nothing for me other than give me credit with free delivery. I already paid for delivery the first time, how could it be free? I was furious. I choose two sofas, used up the credit, and vow that I would never step foot in their store again. Go to Furniture Plus if you're looking for good service and deals. In July we purchased a mattress for $4000. Chris was the sales person, and he promised that if we were unhappy with the mattress that we could exchange it for another one for a $199 fee. There were three mattresses by the same manufacture and were priced the same. We alerted him in Sept. that we were unhappy and would be exchanging it Lo and behold when we asked for the exchange he said it would be $1650 not $199. When I asked why, he said that the new mattress was more expensive. That was the first I knew about that. My response was that we would take cheaper one and they could refund the difference. He said he could not do that. If you bought a more expensive one you paid the difference, but if you got a cheaper one they would keep the money! His response was, read the fine print! I bought some furniture from this location as a college student a few years ago. I thought I was being smart when the sale rep suggested I buy the extended warranty. At the time, it sounded great. A few years laters and trying to make a claim.. awful and frusterating. Don't let Ashley explain the warranty to you, don't trust them. We had a great experience ordering from Ashley HomeStore! However, our bed set came with a piece that was broken so we had to order a new piece. The soonest we were able to get it is April 23rd. Three months from when they first came to set up the bed set. Originally it was not a big deal, we called and asked that they come set up the bed in the mean time, seeing as it is still able to be slept in. They assured us that someone would call us back in one to two days to set up a time. We never heard anything. I then called TWO MORE TIMES and they told us the same thing and WE STILL HAVE NOT HEARD A THING. I am disappointed in their customer service aspect. read more

Ordered a full bedroom set here 4 years ago and was fantastic. Recently we moved and decided on new furniture for almost entire house. So we stopped into the Plover store and Mike helped us with our bed. He was so-so ok. We had already looked at what we wanted online as we wanted the same manufacturer and stain color to match what we currently had. We decided on the bed and confirmed it with him and emailed him also because it was 8-10 weeks out with no returns.They also didnt even have any like it in stock. The bed finally shows up (couple weeks late) so I go pick it up, start to assemble it, and its the wrong style. So I call Mike and he made it sound like that is what I ordered. I referenced the email and he calls me back some time later and said "the lady at corporate that orders made a mistake". Ok it happens. So I wanted to cancel order and I would go to another store with that brand ( be it farther away) but I wouldnt have the wait time because it was in stock over by the Twin cities. But because its a special order I cant cancel even though it was there mistake. At this point Im not too happy with it and Mike does me a favor "I wont charge you to get the correct one in". I couldn't believe he had said that. After a few conversations they could get it in 4 weeks now. So i caulked that one up to poor salesman followup. Kitchen is next. After the Mike experience it was to the Wausau store for a kitchen table. Ordered table and chairs without a hitch. Came in on time and salesmen was great. On to next room. With the sour taste still in my mouth and no bed yet we order a leather couch, love seat, and chair online from Sams Club and it shows up on time and is exactly as ordered. Now to the sitting room. The bed came in and looked great. So back to Furniture and Appliance Mart in Plover to order a love seat, leather chair, and ottoman that we seen earlier and would fit the room perfectly. Because we are from the Wausau area we price the same products at both stores and almost always Plover is a bit cheaper. Have no clue why but they were. So we purchase in Plover and the send it to Wausau because its a little closer. So order comes in and I am going to get it Friday night after work at 6pm. Order wasn't delivered to Wausau its in Plover. Right then and there I should have went to Plover to pick it up. My mistake and working 6am-6pm all weekend didnt give me the time to get it Monday was my day off and I could get it then. They would get on a truck asap and get to Wausau. Nothing Monday. So I contact the store manager and the "new lady" made the mistake. Now Today (Tuesday) I start 12 hour nights and it should be there today but dont know yet. With only 2 of my last 4 purchases being pleasant I will never go back. read more

Seriously some of the worst furniture ever constructed. If there was less than one star that is what I would give it. If you purchase their furniture plan on it ripping apart at the seams in less than one year. Be careful though and keep an eye on it, because if it is a side seam you may not see it until 1 year and 1 day - and then manufacture warranty will not cover it. By the way this couch is in an office and get minimal use - if you have a family I PROMISE it will fall apart in less than one year. read more
