Thats what I expect if I walk into an Asian Street Style place. He was very nice to me and observant without me giving many clues. He yelled at us for no reason telling us that we cannot sit in the reserved seats, which we didn't sit in because we CLEARLY saw the sign that said reserved. He also embarrassed us by walking to other tables yelling at us and mumbling things. In this situation we were very uncomfortable leaving us to walk out and I believe this was because of the colour of our skin (though I am not trying to pull the race card, but this was clearly the situation). The Host is a little blunt and off putting but once your are past the door of this very busy spot the waitstaff is excellent. Coming from the southern USA I had my doubts but ordered the spare ribs, friend got a steak, other friend got the 24 hour beef which I think translates better to Prime rib roast. All were done quite well! Ribs were a very good, more of a St. Louis style wet rib, sauce on the sweeter side, but fall off the bones tender. Steak was cooked to a proper rare and not over seasoned. Meat quality was excellent! The manhattan was good (Bulliet bourbon is the top shelf). Beer selection is the usual German varieties Weiss wheat or dunkle. They do have a nice gin selection. Will come back!
