Food was bland and seemed like it was set out for a long time, despite it being the dinner time when it's usually switched out with more fresh stuff. The sushi ironically was the only thing that tasted pretty good. Took 10 minutes for them to bring us our drinks, I thought they had forgotten we were even seated at first. Asked server is item was egg free. She did not understand due to language barriers - no issue there but asked the host who seated us the same question. His response was I don't know . I asked he it was possible to check ingredients....his response "we're too busy". My response now is we are never returning to the place. A simple check of a pastry item for my 7 year old....I couldn't believe the response. See the photo of how "busy" they were. I'm not claiming the place was empty but a 30 second check was doable. Garbage! My daughter and I went here today for lunch, arriving at 11:10 a.m., hoping since we were arriving at opening, that everything would be fresh. What we found was food that was meant to be served hot (on our plates: potatoes, General Tso's, chicken on a stick, chicken with jalapenos, egg rolls, etc...) all of it was ice cold! Additionally, the General Tso's was hard as a rock and I couldn't even get my fork into it, much less eat it. When I was asked 3 separate times if everything is "Okay", I replied that it was not, and described the issues. Nothing was done about it. We were seated close to the front and watched to see if anyone bothered to check the steam tables for temperature. No. No one offered an apology or explanation. The hostess came by the table, said something (I couldn't understand her, as her English was very broken), and I asked if I could speak with the manager. Between my daughter and I, we figured out that her reply was that the manager was off today. What type of food establishment that is open for business, does not have a manager on duty?! This is exactly the type of scenario when a manager must be there. There was so much wrong about this experience! Don't get me started about health code violations....but suffice to say if an inspector had been there, I am sure he/she would have said something about the cold food and steam tables. Our check for the two of us came to $20.85. When we got to the front desk to pay, the hostess charged us $17.00 for our troubles. I feel like I was ripped off! I still paid but let her know AGAIN, that this dining experience was very unsatisfactory. She smiled, said "thank you" (I guess thanking me for the charitable donation I just made. ha) and made her way out from behind the desk area, to seat more suckers. My advice: do not go here. Do not give them your patronage! Our family had been going here for several years. I don't imagine it was ever the greatest Asian style food ever, but it was better than this garbage. My review is solely off of the incident from my order last night. Asian Buffet can be great if you order to go. Never eat off the buffet itself bc the food is left out for several hours and is never fresh. If you order to go, they will make it fresh for you and there are items that aren't on the buffet that are on their ordering menu. I should've known a long time ago to stop eating here from other incidents but today really did it for me. As I'm sitting at my island counter eating my shrimp Mei Fun, I notice something bright blue in my food. I pull it further out of the noodles and it's a piece of a food service bandaid. How do I know it's a food service band aid? Bc I used to work in the food industry. I immediately throw my plate of food away (along with the band aid... I know, dumb but it was my first reaction bc I was going to be sick). I ran to my fridge and threw everything we ordered away ($40 worth of food). Texted my husband and told him not to eat the Chinese food he packed for lunch. I then called Asian Buffet and he was so unapologetic. He said "sorry" and offered 15% off my next order!!! As if I would ever eat here again, then tried to tell me they don't use blue band aids........ So what band aids do you use then? Bc you're SUPPOSED to be using the blue food service band aids. It was clearly a blue service band aid and he didn't want to admit to anything. The LEAST he could've done was refund me or even comp my next meal (IF I was going to eat there again) but he offers me 15%. FIFTEEN PERCENT off my next order. It's one thing to have the band aid in my food, it's another to not take accountability and basically say I'm lying abt the band aid in my food bc they don't use those band aids. Smh, never eating here again and I don't recommend ANYONE else to either. Def will be giving the health department a call after I post this review to all platforms. read more

Moving back to the area and when it comes to buffets Im seeing many have closed down since my last living in the area. I was very tired from remodeling and wanted something quick so decided to stop in around 7pm on a Tuesday evening to have dinner and this was truly a mistake. The food seemed as if it had been on the buffet for sometime and even the new that they brought out did not seem fresh. The waitress forgot to bring our drinks when we were seated which was no big deal and her friendliness did make up for it but the price we paid for two people considering the taste and the freshness of the food was a true disappointment. well it was my first and last visit to this place. to start with the Buffett was just inedible. period. the food was overcooked, lukewarm, the wonton soup tasted like dishsoap. the wonton was hard, rubbery and very salty, no filling and I had to ask for it. the rice was dry, the lo mein was dry and hard. even the orange sherbet was horrible and freezer burned. I also feel like we were racially scrutinized. the owner, who could have taken one of the 4 overflowing bus tubs left within 3 feet of our table to the kitchen stood and stared at us while we tried to eat. it was very uncomfortable. then she decided it would be a good idea to sweep throwing dust and other people's food on to our feet. during our visit the Asian family across from us was being brought plates of fresh food from the kitchen 5 different times, but we were ignored. so for $50 we went home hungry, aggravated and wishing we had just went to McDonald's. I think the food is meh. $21 for two people isn't that bad. The crawfish has a dirty taste to it and sometimes the "cheese" on the mussels taste like butter. I have been reading Yelp reviews for a long time, but never added my two cents worth. Not sure why, just didn't, but, my last experience was poor enough that I wanted to warn others, assuming they see this before they go to Asian Buffet in Ft Smith, Arkansas. It is really poor! Maybe the poorest Asian buffet I have ever been to. While in Ft Smith on October 16, 2018, with a family member, we wanted to try something new. We had just been a local store, and we're in the parking lot searching the internet for lunch suggestions! I recommended we do a Chinese buffet. But we could not decide which one to go to by looking at the internet suggestions! I went back in the store and asked employees for suggestions! They suggested Asian buffet!! So, off we went! You could smell the grease all the way to the parking lot! But, we pushed on. We were seated, with instructions to help ourselves. Very nice help. We ordered water and hot tea. Then we were off to the buffet. From the start, the selections and the presentations were iffy! But, since it was recommended, we pushed on! Now we know we should have left! I have never seen buffet food so soaked in grease, and so unlabeled! It was a real challenge to pick out the least greasy food, while having to keep asking what each selection was. I am allergic to shell fish, etc, and after tasting some of the stuff, I realized the label did not tell of shell fish in the food. One I selected, I spit it out, then verified with the hired help that it indeed had shell fish in my selection! Really poor desert selection. And the hot tea, nasty! Bottom line we ate enough to get by, then left, never to go back, and I am here to warn others not to go there. There are other choices in Ft Smith! Surely anyone of the others would be a better than this place!! I hope this review keeps others from making the mistake I did!! read more

This is undoubtedly the worst Chinese buffet in the county. The food was either dried out and hard, or undercooked. The shrimp smelled awful. When I tried a bite of the beef and broccoli I had put on my plate, the broccoli was still raw! The sweet and sour chicken was too hard to eat. The spring rolls were somehow raw on the inside, but burnt on the outside. The lo mein noodles were mush. The wonton soup looked like it had been pulsed one time in a blender- that is to say, the wontons them selves were torn all the shreds, not neat little pockets like they should be. Almost every item on the buffet had just a few pieces of food each in them, and like I said, it was largely just dried out and hardened, like it had either been sitting there all day. Service was terrible. When we spoke to manager, he offered no apology, and still charged us for the food that we were unable to eat. Next time I am craving Chinese, I will go to Lins House in Greenwood. The food is always ON POINT there, unlike this disaster of a rearuraunt. I think it bears mentioning that this is NOT my first poor experience at Asian Buffet. I have given them several chances over the past 10 years, hoping that they will improve and honestly, they just keep getting worse. This time really took the cake. I hadn't eaten at this restaurant in a long time, it will be longer before I eat here again. To start, the hibachi was broken so they didn't cook it in front of you. It was cold, undercooked, and the cook seemed mad at the world. The buffet was not exactly fresh at 1:30 pm except the undercooked general tsao's raw chicken dumped on top. Worst of all, we were seated at a table that hadn't been cleaned in a while. Wiped, yes, but the table was stickier than Harvey Weinstein's hands. The saving grace were the sushi rolls, which were average. I would recommend this restaurant as much as I would going to Dr. Kevorkian for an annual check-up. read more

3/9/2018 I've been waiting at the booth number C10 for 10 mins and the waitress hasn't even given me a refill! The men's bathroom is so damn sketchy it's not even funny like the locks on the door are ruined. Grafetti on the men's bathroom all over the place and it's discouraging to take a shit here. Was put off by negative reviews but after talking to a guy that worked at Walmart, he said place was very good, I decided to try them out. Staff spoke every little English, but what else do they do except take your drink orders and pick finished plates off your table. Has large variety of Chinese food (all good food)! I love this place only at dinner times because it has some of my favorite foods and varieties. One of my favorite foods are the shrimp covered with batter and the green beans and also the fried rice and last bit not least the frog legs. And after I'm done with those dishes I get some sweet and sour soup. We have went here since like 2010. It has slowly went down hill since. They have a good variety. I love their food but the problem is some of the food will b fresh while other foods will b cold so u have a mixture of hot and cold food on your plate. When we first starting eating here the wait staff was awesome and came by every few minutes to check on you but since they change out their wait staff every few months those awesome waitresses are NOT there anymore. They now have HORRIBLE waitresses who will look at your empty cup as they walk pass and not even bother asking if you would like a refill even though they clearly see you are still eating. Then they will go to another table and ask someone whos cup is 1/2 - 3/4 way full if they would like a refill. Last time we ate there the waitress walked past my cup 3 times and i watched her look at it all 3 times and finally she went to walk by it on the 4th time and i said something to her and she popped off with something to the effect of " you will have to wait a minute, i see you need a refill". This was after she had walked past my EMPTY cup 3 times before i said anything on the 4th time. My kids love this place also but until they decide to change their wait staff back out i wont be going there. I will give it a few months and try it again and see if they have got rid of the so called waitresses. I gave it one star due to the HORRIBLE service we have experienced. read more
