It worked into my schedule OK, even unplanned, so I stayed and had a massage from a woman (I forget her name sorry!). I tried this place because I couldn't get into where I wanted. Google has 5 stars for reviews and Yelps are horrible, had to check it out. I called before and asked for a 90 min but they said they could only do 60 :( I realized they get more money for a 60 min. It's ok. It was nice and clean inside but every single time I go to an Asian massage place it always smells soooo strong of the worst smelling food. Today it was popcorn and fish. I came in because I injured my shoulder a few weeks ago and the pain isn't going away. I got the deep tissue massage with the hot stones. It was so super soft. I think my shoulder hurts worse now but it was a good relaxing massage; I don't know how else to describe it. I'm giving 4 stars because I'm sure I could've said harder and she would've but I didn't even have the effort. I would probably go back. Don't bother. I spoke with someone on Tuesday about making an appointment for a 90 minute massage for Saturday and the person was rude over the phone when I was trying to set up the appointment. I was told they only had a 60 minute appointment for 4 p.m. on Saturday, so I accepted the appointment. When I arrived at 10 minutes prior to my appointment, there was nobody at the desk when suddenly a woman appeared from the back with a scowl on her face demanding why I was there, and that she was busy. I politely explained that I had an appointment to which she rudely replied I'm busy, you have no appointment, come back at 4:30. I told her that I had proof of the minute long conversation we had the previous Tuesday, but she was too "busy" and told me to come back. I was annoyed but really needed a massage after painting a ceiling the week prior so I agreed to come back at 4:30. When I arrived back at 4:30, I was once again very rudely greeted and the woman asked, when did you make the appointment, and I again replied, last Tuesday and I explained that we discussed a 90 minute massage and I booked the 60 minute and we had spoken for a minute. She then gaslit me and demanded that I never made an appointment and that now, she only had time for a 45 minute massage, to which I replied no thanks and I left. Probably the WORST customer service that I have ever experienced. Also, they could improve on the vibe and decor, the environment did not seem very relaxing, which is what I am used to at a place that provides massage services. All I can say is wow! If you are looking for a horrible massage, this is the place! If you are looking for a $60 hand job, this is also the place (I politely declined) Slept wrong, my neck was killing me. My local massage therapist was booked out, so I called this establishment. She told me to come at a set time. As soon as I walked in the door, she pretty much started arguing and yelling at me that I did not call or make an appointment (which I did). She then told me she could only offer a 45 minute massage and demanded I pay upfront. She then directed me towards a room and told me to lay on the table. As I do in every massage, I strip down and laid between the sheets, pulling the top sheet over my rear. She walked in and made an angry noise, ripped the top sheet off of me angrily, asking me why I laid under the sheet!? She then literally threw a towel on me, and gave me the worst massage I have ever had in my life. She made weird sinus noises, grunting, the whole time. She kept, asking me invasive personal questions which were inappropriate. When she turned me over, she suddenly got nice, stroked my arm and asked me if I wanted a massage "down there", pointing at my genitalia. Not only did I not want a massage "down there", I just wanted this horrible experience to end. I was set in my mind, that I was absolutely not going to tip, which is not normal for me. I walked out into the lobby and told her politely "thank you and have a good day". She got very angry that I was not going to leave a tip. I told her politely but honestly it was a bad experience and a bad massage. She continued to yell at me as I walked to my car. Then - she texted me this "Your asshole. Don't come back again. Bad guy. I give you a professional massage. Now I know you." So... Apparently I did call and make an appointment, because she had my cell phone number. In summary. It wasn't a total waste of $50, because it now makes quite the story. But seriously, if you're looking for a decent massage, this is not the place. Older Asian lady kept making hocking unpleasant sinus issue sounds, sneezing and spraying all over me. Rude and difficult to communicate. Very rough, I asked her to go lighter, because I was unusually sore. She didn't go lighter, even roughly jerking my leg apart, making my knee hurt. Kept leaving to answer door, or talk to someone there in her language. I had the hot rocks, so she went out for several minutes to get them. She ran my card ahead of time. At the end she shoved my credit card slip in my face and insisted I add a tip. I said 'no tip, that wasn't even an hour, you kept interrupting the massage. Terrible!!!! I am so mad right now. Linda hurt me and literally ripped my skin off with this jade tool she used to "scrape" away the deep tissue knots. I just looked in the mirror and saw that I bled through my t-shirt in spots and am left with bruises on my upper body. She was VERY unprofessional; answered 2 phone calls during my massage and left the room 4 times to greet people at the door. In the end she used a scalding hot towel on my back. Then doubled the price as well. The lady today (Saturday) told me she had no time today and that I needed to call to make an appointment for Friday? I have never written a comment on Yelp but this is a gripe that I cannot ignore. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS PLACE!!!! Firstly they hardly speak English which they use to their advantage when it comes to charges and payments. On the street corner they advertise $39.00 for half an hour massage. The lady at the reception area did not speak a word of English so I mainly communicated in sign language pointing at the advertisement on the street. So she goes inside the massage area and came out with a VERY NASTY YELLING older Asian woman who pointed angrily at the sign on the wall that was high up one can hardly see it. The sign said $45 for a half hour massage. The witch abruptly left leaving the hapless receptionist to deal with whatever I had to say about false advertising. As I'm writing this I need a shoulder and back massage real bad so I said okay. But then the receptionist pointed at a sign that says $3 fee for credit cards and I said " okay, I pay" to which her response was "pay first cash". Receptionist was sweet lady so I said, very slowly along with pantomime gestures, " I no have cash. I go ATM machine. I come back." If my life depends on it I will NEVER get a massage here. A lot of Asians, especially Chinese, think Americans are stupid because they tolerate their rudeness, cheating and lying. They know they are "protected" by discrimination laws in the US. Calling in advance for an appointment, and requesting the price for a one hour massage, I was told it was $60 for a massage. I booked a 2p for that day with a Linda. When I arrived, she asked 'You from Tahoe?' I said No, that I had called an hour ago, It was here on time for my 2p appointment. She continued to argue with me regarding where I was from, and suggested that I was a half an hour late. She then asked for payment upfront for the one hour massage, I told her I'd pay her when the work was complete. She had a very nasty attitude and was unpleasant right from the getgo. Although the massage was decent, she didn't pay much attention to any of my requests, i.e. focusing on my upper back and neck areas. As they have no staff, she left the room twice to speak with another customer, and answered the phone once as well. Although the whole experience was crappy, I decided to offer her a tip between 10 and 15%, just as a nice gesture. When I said "add $8 tip" to the $62 massage with credit card fee, Linda got nasty again. " I gave you deep tissue, you pay $80". The old bait and switch. I said under no circumstances am I paying you more than what we agreed on, run that credit card for $70, or $62 which ever you please. Apparently my money was good enough after all, and she took the $8 tip, very unpleasantly. I shouldn't have offered her an extra penny, as she didn't deserve any tip with that nasty attitude. I would rate this place a 0 if I could. This is my first and probably only YELP review I will write simply to tell people NOT to go here. Manager/Owner was extremely unprofessional and rude, she has no idea how to massage properly. She was rough and mean and incredibly bitchy through the entire thing. She kept leaving the room during the massage and going to do who knows what so my time was cut. What was supposed to be a nice, relaxing time turned out to be uncomfortable and honestly a headache. There are better alternatives to this place and I'd go to one of them. Never coming back. Lady also got angry when a $5 tip was included and while I concede that a tip should probably be 20%, she definitely didn't deserve it. She's lucky she even got that, all things considering. If anyone from the business even reads this, I'd like to remind you that a tip is not an obligation, paying the amount for the service is.
