I should have noticed red flags from the beginning but tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. I called earlier in the day to check availability and was told a time I could come in. I was arriving a few minutes early and as I was pulling in the parking lot (almost 5 minutes before my scheduled time) they called me to ask if I was still coming or if I needed a later time.
Then, she made me pay up front, including the tip, before she would even start the massage. Which I said fine. She was annoyed that I didn't have cash to pay with. When she finally agreed to let me pay with card, she asked how much I wanted to tip. Apparently $15 (What I usually tipped in the twin cities, a pretty standard amount.) wasn't enough and she bullied me into tipping $20. She then made me go back to the front of the business to pay when we were already in the room.
Once we finally got that part settled, she stepped out of the room to let me undress and get under the sheet. Normal, right? Wrong. Before I was even half undressed, she barged in without knocking and just stood there waiting for me to finish, even though I said I was not ready for her yet. Then, as I got on the table, I realized there was not a sheet to cover up with. Only a small blanket that partially covered me. I'm a very tiny person, anyone bigger than me would not have been covered up. Throughout the massage she kept asking questions like 'you like that baby' or 'that feel good baby'. It made me quite uncomfortable. I really just wanted to have a simple massage. At one point, she climbed up on the table in her hot pink, velvet, mini dress with her legs spread right over my head. At multiple points, she just left the room. At one point for almost 10 minutes.
It was about halfway through the session when she asked if I would like her to use any oil. Hello? Yes! As the session went on, she became more and more friendly with my backside, under my underwear. At one point, getting dangerously close to my other bits. At the end, when I rolled onto my back, she spent maybe two minutes doing normal massage stuff, shoulders etc. THEN, held her hand BARELY over my privates and asked if I would like her to leave that alone. When I very firmly said not to touch that area, she backpedaled hard, claiming she was just joking then ended the session.
At the end, spent an uncomfortable amount of time leaning over my face trying to apologize and offering me a discount for the next time I came in because it was a "very busy day". I heard the bells (yes, multiple) at the front door exactly one time, right before she ran out the first time. She even asked me to hold her as she tried to wrap her arms around me in a hug. Mind you, I was still laying on the table. She assured me she would remember me and said next time I would only have to pay for a 30 minute session instead of the full hour. There will not be a next time.
During my massage, there were multiple times I could hear other staff loudly having conversations in the hall, her phone went off, toilet seats were slamming, and at one point I'm pretty certain I heard someone taking a shower.
I will not be returning and am considering calling the local Chamber of Commerce. It was incredibly unprofessional and uncomfortable. I think I may have left more tense than when I arrived. read more
