Nice well stocked Asian Market in Eureka,Ca. I needed some specific Asian ingredients and found this location on line. It's hidden back behind the Sacred Heart church off of Myrtle Ave. The employee was very helpful. I need some ginger and it's the best natural ginger I've ever purchased. It had all the ingredients I needed to make Szechuan Shrimp. I also needed Szechuan peppercorns... which by the way aren't peppery at all. They have a minty/spicy citrus taste. If I could give them 0 stars I would!! Went to buy some fresh Thai chilis, most were all shriveled, except one pack that was decent but had mold on some peppers. I asked if she would offer at a discount, the worker there said she would need to ask the boss, I waited while she called the boss lady on the phone (on speaker) where I heard her say "20%"... When she rang me up- she NOT only gave me only 15% off--- but she raised the price to more than what the regular priced peppers were. She over charged me thinking I wouldn't noticed. When I called her out on it- she was like "what do you want me to do" like seriously??? The audacity of this store-- RIP OFF and terrible customer service! A hidden gem in Myrtletown, tucked away in a corner of the Sacred Heart Church parking lot. The entrance to the parking lot is off of Edgewood Road. A wonderful place to shop. Everybody is so friendly and welcoming. The couple that runs this is from the Philippines, so the groceries run just a tiny bit toward the Filipino end , But, you can find fruits, vegetables, sauces regular groceries, , desserts, snacks, etc., from all over Asia. both regular, refrigerated, and even frozen. my favorite are the Ramen style bowls. from savory to super hot, they have a very large selection. my favorite dessert is a rice pudding with sweet corn kernels, that comes in a "cup a noodles" type of cup. just add hot water. It sounds weird, but it's delicious. Considering a lot of the items are imported, the prices are reasonable. I love this place and will continue to come back. Thank you. read more

Asia's Best had a decent variety of foods, from snacks, meat, noodles, vegetables and more. The person behind the counter was very friendly. He mentioned he is there to help his brother with expanding the business. The other location will be bigger. I look forward to visit the other location when I'm in town next. read more

One of the few places one can get hard-to-get Asian ingredients in Eureka and Arcata. A lot of the larger retail and grocery stores do not carry a lot of these Asian and Pacific Islander brands, and if they did, it was normally only the most popular brands, or Americanized ones. Common noodle ingredients like cellophane noodles, lots of Asian specific snacks, fresh and frozen vegetable meats and sea foods and even some of their preserved counterparts used in Asian and Pacific Islander cuisine can be found here (not all, I think the supermarket in Fortuna may be a lot bigger than this one.) But to be able to find ingredients or brands that don't show up in larger retails store was refreshing. It's a small store that is situated right next to a church. Stopped in here to get the stuff for Thai food. They had everything I was looking for and the guy working the counter was really helpful. Prices may have been a bit higher than I'd expected but that's pretty typical for a place that sells specialty items. Everything seemed fresh and the store was very clean. Woooooow all your essentials for Asian/Filipinx snacks and culinary needs in one cute nook sized shop! The Auntie who runs the cashier/shop is so friendly. I even was able to get my Sunsilk and Filipino shampoo. They even had longan and lychee and my favorite skinny string beans! This place is such an essential market in Eureka. 10/10! The folx working here were amazing! This store is definitely a go to for anyone looking for Asian snacks and foods. I do wish they carried more South Indian items! Kurkure and maybe even some dosa batters? They had a lot of really interesting baked goodies and flavored milks! I tried the banana milk which was delicious. Reminiscent of a banana laffy taffy but creamier and more milky. I am definitely curious about trying other snacks and foods. Kewpie mayo is a must have for salmon and rice sushi hand wraps. Their frozen and refrigerated section is abundant! I noticed how they have some veggies traditionally South Indian cuisine. Ever sit in Eureka and wish you could have a fresh steamed pork bun, like you were in San Francisco Chinatown? You can. Right on Myrtle in Eureka. Not only that, but a huge diversity of condiments like Chinese cooking wine and diverse sorts of soy sauce, cases of ramen, dried mushrooms, frozen fish and lumpia and all sorts of stuff that's generally hard to find around here. If you're looking for a variety of asian foods, this is the best place in Humboldt County. There are foods from all over Asia; I was surprised when I found my favorites from a humble store in the North Coast. There are a lot of Southeast Asian markets in town, but this is the only market I'm aware of north of the SF bay that specializes in Filipino food. Need banana leaves for your suman? Need spiced coconut vinegar (Suka Pinakurat or Datu Puti) for your adobo? Need actual lumpia (not egg roll or wonton) wrappers? This is where you're going to find it. Frozen fish, longaniza, pre-made lumpia, ice cream flavored with purple yam (ube), mango, or avocado, etc etc. Lots of packaged cookies, crackers and other snacks and/or junk food. A small selection of fresh bakery items / desserts (hopia etc.), various sauces, canned goods and a whole lot more. I didn't know that there was much of a Filipino population in Humboldt, but I'm hoping that this store survives and thrives, because having islander roots, I miss the cuisine. I would love to see a restaurant, but in the meantime, at least some of the foods and many of the raw ingredients are available here to satisfy the craving or to help me hone my own cooking skills. read more

While it is small, it has so much! I was happy to find this Asian market in Humboldt after moving so far away from home. The options are limited in comparison to the markets back in San Diego, but for being in Norcal- the selection is great. Not to mention, the family that owns/runs this store is very kind and helpful. They're always quick to offer me a cart, a bag, a suggestion for food, etc. Being in this store brings me back to my childhood & the hospitality of the owners makes me feel like there is a place for me in Humboldt county as a member for the AAPI community. Heard about this grocery store from my visit to Little Japan. Coming from SoCal I was lucky to have Asian grocery stores within minutes of where I lived and I'm just as grateful to have Asia's Best nearby because it has almost everything you need when it comes to Asian foods. So I have been to this market and it is amazing. It is technically located on Edgewood Rd. so don't let the location fool you. This is a Filipino Market but does carry other Asian things and have somethings that I have not seen in other Asian markets in the area. It has a variety of things there. The have, snacks, fish, frozen asian food, tons of canned Asian food, some basic ceramics, straw brooms, and some very nice Asian music playing. The staff is very friendly there and available to answer any questions you have. I will come back to this market. I recommend to check this out. read more

No vegetables, a whole aisle of fish in cans, the rest of the store is just chips. I couldn't find anything I needed for cooking.
