I have been to a few times and every one of my experiences there are amazing. First the customer service is so amazing it feels like you are at home. The staff are so courteous and have a good vibe/relationship with their customers right when you enter you are greeted with a smile and "hello how are you". If you don't really need help they will back off give your space and not be to pushy. They help you find the best thing for you. Whether it's clothing, prom dress, party outfit, batmitzvahs, or a sweet sixteen, they know exactly what to let you try on they are honest. I was there recently looking for a prom dress, they let n try a variety of beatiful dresses, and finally found a gorgeous dress to fit my personality that made me feel good and flattered my body type. But what stood out the most to me was that they were on my side they helped me find my own image not what my mother wanted, they ask what I wanted and I loved it, they stick up for the young girls. Not only is the staff impeccable, but the clothing and gowns are gorgeous they had good quality clothing, that is classy and it is at a affordable price. Ordered a very expensive gown for my daughter's prom. After 2 months I called to ask if dress had arrived as prom was 4 weeks away. I was told "we think it shipped today". Not very assuring. The next week the gown arrived- it was the wrong gown in the wrong color. New gown was ordered and express shipped to store. Color was right, gown still wrong. At this point prom is a week away so I kept dress and had it altered (last minute alterations costing me a fortune). Owner of this shop has not even reached out once after multiple calls to apologize for the inconvenience or even offer some kind of break after all this trouble (and still having the wrong dress). I would never come back here or recommend anyone go here. Owner is a terrible business person and should be ashamed of themselves for not doing right by customers. My one star was for the 2 sales people who helped me when I went to pick up the dress. Both were sympathetic - 1 assisted in placing the express shipped order of the 2nd dress and the other tried to have owner reach out to me for an explanation. 0 stars to the shitty owner who still has not called me. read more

Ordered my daughter's prom dress there on 2/19. They told me that the dress would be in within 2 weeks. They measured her. The dress arrived 4 days before the prom and did not fit her. I was offered a full refund. The refund never hit my account. Called the bank and after I left the store reversed the refund. Please go anywhere else for your dress needs. read more

I have passed this store countless times and never even thought to go in. Well I was in search of a dress for my graduation party and in one of the local papers they had a 20% of coupon for the store so I said okay why not check it out. Walked into the store and they had tons of dresses! The sales ladies were very helpful and tried to find the perfect dress for me. Of course everyone I tried on they said looked great but well we all know that isn't true. They had sundresses, prom dresses, party dresses, casual dresses, really any kind of dress you might think you need. The dresses on average are about 70 dollars which isn't bad at all. I've been a customer of Ask Alice since the day they opened their doors. They always go out of their way and it's a fun day. They have dressed my daughter and I both for casual and for formal occasions. We always felt very taken care of. I recently moved and purchased a gown in my neighborhood hoping to give local businesses my business. When I found out that they accepted my payment in full and haven't produced the dress I ordered in February, I was heartbroken. I reached out to Elise at Ask Alice and she could not have been more helpful. She absolutely saved the day!! I was just hoping for any dress at this point since it was too close to the wedding to start over. She called the designer. Found the last dress in the style I wanted. When I went yesterday to try in on it was exactly how I dreamed it would be. Which was surprising since the first store ordered 3 sizes larger. So thank you Ask Alice and Elise! My personal experience occurred over a period of 6-months and the description is listed below. 1st Star - Merchandise - Ask Alice retails both evening gowns and regular everyday clothing. No 2nd Star - Unprofessional - They made attempts to rectify our situation, however, ever attempt only made our situation worse. In my opinion this was largely due to neglect on the part of their staff. When I posted my initial review regarding our poor experience, the manager called my Mom and threatened to refuse us our full refund and pursue a defamation case if I didn't take down the review on all social media platforms. No 3rd Star - Poor Communication - The staff seemed uneducated in regards to their product. Ex: Failed to inform us of trends in designer sizes (running too big, too small or true to size), something you expect a boutique to be well-versed in. No 4th Star - No Store Refund - Ask Alice only provides store credit. Our situation was the direct result of incompetence of their staff and therefore, an exception should have been made. Ask Alice provided us a full refund ONLY after threatening a defamation case if we did not remove our truthful and accurate review of their business on all social media platforms. No 5th Star - No Appreciation for Business - At the end of my original review we were left paying full-price for a floor sample of a gown 5+ sizes too large and refused a dress bag even when we explicitly asked for one. The reasoning: "it was obviously going to have to be tailored anyway". --------------------------------------- My personal experience : My sister is a size 00. The supervisor ordered her dress in size 2, insisting it would fit her frame. After the dress arrived (later that expected) we went into the store to try it on. It was: - far too large - had a hole - it had rips - no tags This was not the condition a new dress should be in. They reordered the dress in a size 0. It was also too large. During this visit a staff member admitted that "they knew the dress always ran big". Why then did we order my size 00 sister a size 2 dress? They suggested we order another dress completely (@ 4 weeks to prom). They refused to give us a refund, only our $650 in store credit with an additional $50 as a retribution. My sister found a designer/style number and ordered another dress. The staff "verified" (on Sat.) that they could order the dress in black 4. The fabric was much more forgiving and we anticipated being able to have it tailored. On Mon. they called and stated they could no longer order the dress in any size. My sister drove over to speak with them. They told her that the best they could do was: - the floor sample of the dress (size 10) - no additional discount or store credit My sister took the dress even though she was refused a dress bag since it would "obviously need to be tailored". Edited to Add: My mother contacted the store after the size 10 floor sample. After discussion, they agreed to order the dress in red 4. We were told to pick it up the following Wed. Wed. arrived and my sister contacted Ask Alice to verify pick-up of the dress. The staff informed her that they "forgot" to order the dress (2-weeks pre-prom). They offer to order the dress for pick-up the following Wednesday (1-week pre-prom), leaving no time for alterations. We refuse and proceed to ask for a full-refund of our original purchase price. Later the same day my Mother receives a phone call from the supervisor stating she is unwilling to issue is a refund of any kind until my "scathing" reviews were taken down and threatened a defamation lawsuit. They refused to provide the refund even when the text read: "5-stars pending full refund of my original purchase price". They did not issue her refund until the review was blank, leaving only 5-stars. Defamation is the communication of a false statement. The description above is accurate and details every aspect of our experience with this establishment. After my full-refund was received I reposted this review. It is unprofessional and dishonest for a supervisor to contact a consumer regarding an honest and truthful review of their experience. It is not appropriate for a business owner to conduct business this way. If Ask Alice was truly concerned about the consumer they would have issued the refund because of my review and made sure to solve my issues in entirety. Furthermore, it is a disservice to the consumers that utilize Yelp, Google and Facebook to review an establishment dishonestly. This is America, we have freedom of speech, and I will not be blackmailed into providing a dishonest description of my experience. Bottom line: I wouldn't Ask Alice and you shouldn't either. read more

I never review on Yelp but this store and their customer service was amazing. I went in with a specific designer in mind and Alice was extremely helpful from the second I walked in. I found the perfect dress, got it for less than what it went for online and because she had it in my size, new, untouched in the back... I was able to take it home that same day. The store has a great selection and I would HIGHLY recommend coming here. (I previously had a terrible experience with another dress store and I can't tell you how much of a relief it was to walk into Ask Alice and everything be so easy and the customer service be so spectacular) read more

WORST CLOTHING STORE IN LONG ISLAND! I wish I could give them zero stars! Absolutely horrible customer service! I'm not the type of person that writes reviews EVER but I had to create a yelp account just so I can warn people of how terrible this store and store owner are. I have my engagement party in July, I went to this store just because they had the specific dress I wanted and placed an order early April and paid $340 for the dress which they said they were gonna order for me. 3 weeks later I go to pick up my dress and as soon as I saw the dress I could tell it wasn't brand new, no tags attached and dirty so I complain to the owner. She apologizes and tells me she will order a new one. So yesterday was a month after that happened I called to find out if my dress was in and they say yes. So I'm super excited to go pick up my "new" dress and is STILL the same dress the owner tried to give me last time except this time it has been dry cleaned!!! it had the dry cleaning wrapping and everything, I could not believe it!! I was so upset. She refused to give me my money back telling me she will have a new dress for me by the end of the week. Mind you now my engagement party is 3 weeks away so of course I'm freaking out! Today someone from the store calls me telling me they will give me my money back because they can't fulfill my order! What a great store! Very deceiving from the outside, but they have some really hip clothes, and also dresses for special occasions, for good prices. The girl that works there provides great customer service, so patient, and sweet. I first loved this store and the customer service we received when shopping for my daughter's prom dress. After calling several stores to find the dress she wanted we found it at Ask Alice. We took the half hour drive so she could try it on and the girls there couldn't have been more helpful. We decided to order the dress from them although it was quite a ways from our house. We went yesterday to pick the dress up and the associate just handed it to us without offering for my daughter to try it on, I had to ask! Other than passing comments on how pretty my daughter looked in the dress or how pretty the dress was, It was as if she was trying on a $20 dress instead of a $400 prom gown! Nobody offered to assist her with trying the dress on or even spoke to us about the fit.
