I was visiting family last month and a crown popped off my tooth. I just needed it glued back on, but I was 2k miles away from my usual dentist. So, I opened Yelp and started looking for local practices. In this small town, there were only 3 dental practices listed. 1st firm - I called. They were closed on Fridays. 2nd said they needed to assess me and take x-rays first, and then in a SECOND appointment, they could help me. I thought they were joking. I explained I just needed some glue and someone to push down on it. Nope. 2 appointments. No exceptions. No thanks. 3rd place was Aspen Dental. They fit me in the next day (a Saturday!) and were able to do everything in one appointment on a Saturday morning. Can't get much better than that. read more

SCAM ALERT! Made an appointment to utilize dental insurance before the end of the year. After the exam was told I needed two fillings and two crowns in addition to cleaning. Then went to the "administrative" person, who was like a used car salesman. Somehow in the time I walked the hall to her office, the treatment became two fillings, two crowns, two implants and a super-duper cleaning and the total bill BEYOND MY BCBS INSURANCE would be almost $10k and was immediately pushed to signup for some care credit account. I said we'd hold off on the two implants until after the new year when insurance would reset and my bill BEYOND MY INSURANCE was still over $2k. (Keep in mind my BCBS insurance covers the first $1,500 and provides a discount after that). When I contacted the office before the appointment for this work to be done, I said I wanted just the cleaning and fillings done and that I'd address those crowns and implants after the new year. Was told by the "administrative" person that a regular cleaning "wouldn't do anything," that they would refuse to just give me that cleaning and that I need the periodontal super cleaning that would still cost nearly $1000 BEYOND MY INSURANCE plus the cost of fillings. When I said I wanted just the fillings done then, she said she was canceling my future appointment because I wasn't having the mega-expensive periodontal whatever cleaning done. So evidently fillings are impossible here unless you're paying over $1,000 for this super cleaning to be done. Have no idea how that is ethical. It's like a doctor refusing to fix a broken leg because you didn't didn't buy the most expensive brace on Earth to use prior to your appointment. I have no problem with having NECESSARY AND REAL work that needs to be done, but when your pushed into having very expensive work done and they refuse to do the basic stuff, it's a red flag. Now it's too late to use the insurance benefits in 2025 because another place won't be able to get me in before the end of the year, so I learned a $1,500 lesson - don't go to CORPORATE dentistry outfits. read more

I went into this place, thinking that the doctors would actually care. I went in. Got my x-rays which are free with our insurance, then we went back to the room with this dentist and the lady starts going through my teeth. Of course I don't know what she saying because she is speaking the dentist language! Mind you the only reason I went in here is because I have one front tooth that is loose that needs to be pulled. They tell me what all I need which was two back teeth on my top that need to be filled, the top front tooth that needs pulled and a partial put in and then I have two bottom teeth that need to be extracted. Next they sent me to the sales rep, she tells me everything I ONLY needed done, shows me the cost for it! Then tells me well if we pull all your top teeth (mind you I'm 33) and you get dentures it's cheape! What I don't understand is how the hell it's cheaper to pulled 15 perfectly fine teeth instead of the 3 I need pulled and the 2 fillings! She then gets me to sign up for this credit card! I then went in and got my mold made! Two days before my procedure was set to be done, I called and asked what all they would be doing that day!! They tell me, then say also don't forget the 578.67 as well! I was like wait what the sale rep told me all I needed was the 3,000 which they charged me the full 3,000 the day they did my mold, before any work had been done! The sales representative NEVER ONCE told me I'd need 578.67 the day of! They then transferred me to her and she was like i told you all this the first time you came in!! Which she DID NOT! At this point I started to research everything about dentures and cost and then looked at the reviews and was like yup nope not doing this! Not to mention the only reason I signed up for the card was because I needed to be able to make payments! Needless to say I called the the next day and told them I was canceling and that they needed to put the full 3,000 back on my card! Here's the saddest part they transferred directly to the sale representative and this lady tried soooo hard to talk me out of canceling to the point I had to say some words I won't say on here to get it through her head that I don't care what commission you were making off of this you are canceling this appointment and you are to put the full $3000 back on the card immediately! She kept trying to talk me out of it! I finally had to be rude with her and tell her that it's pretty sad that you care more about your commission than you do about your patients!!! Then I proceeded to tell her that you lied to me and im done there's nothing else you can say! I then proceeded to tell her that I really don't want to hang up on you so this is gonna be the last time I say it cancel my appointment put the full $3000 back on my card immediately and have a great day. Goodbye. Then I went ahead and hung up. It's sad that these people only care about money they don't care about their patients whatsoever and I should've realize that the first day I went in to get my x-rays done and the one guy in there was literally cussing them out because he had been trying to get his dentures for three months, then looked at his wife and said we are going to a different dentist! I should have left right then and there! I am so grateful that I started researching! That I have a husband who is also a salesman he's really really good at it. That I work at a Nursing home and my boss actually is a nurse practitioner and she told me a lot about it. I would NEVER recommend anyone to any of the Aspen Dental offices, unless you're a millionaire, of course! It is just sad do your research. Make sure you have a good doctor and dentist that actually care about you and your health!!!! read more

Horrible, horrible. I discovered a growth under my tongue last Friday. The Bay City office ( of which I am/ was a patient) has walk in appointments. No dentist on there. Receptionist said she would email the dentist and on Monday he would call me as to my next step (see him or get referral to oral surgeon). I called the office Monday at 11:00 a.m. Receptionist, very snottily, told me the dentist had not read the email yet. I heard Nothing all day. I Called back at 4:30 (they close at 5), went straight to voicemail. Message said they would get back to me in 1-2 business days. It is now Thursday evening; noting, nada, no phone call. Because I did not hear from them on Monday, went to my primary doctor. I am now referred to ENT for possible mouth cancer. Thank goodness I decided not to wait for that call from the dentist at Aspen Dental, it's not coming. I can't state it strongly enough, do NOT go to Aspen Dental in Bay City. read more

Don't answer their questions about where you work...they adjust the price accordingly, lie about work and cavities and will drill where no cavity exists. Stay away if you like money and hate pain. Then they bill past insurance but don't tell you at the visit. read more

I wouldn't normally leave a bad review..... My mom went here and we paid in full up front, at her next appointment, they left her waiting for almost an hour past her scheduled time, taking everyone who came in after her first. When her 5-10 minute procedure was done they then informed her that her next appointment would have to be delayed due to their scheduling conflict. Her dream has been to have her smile fixed and the delays and attitudes have done nothing but leave her literally in tears. So much for customer service. read more

I went to them for dentures. I told them I had a unique case and that it could affect my work and i did not want that. The dentist was in and out and didnt even want to talk about it. They wanted a very large sum of money for something that would just delay the inevitable and hurt my ability to stay employed. Which happened, I am unable to deploy according to the paperwork. It cost me a lot of money and a job that I was really really looking forward to. They have a 1.5 star review on here, and 1 is the lowest. So maybe you should listen and go someplace else. We have been sitting waiting for an hour to meet with the Manager. Cannot make an appointment with this person, first come first served. Listened to receptionist answering the phone and telling patients the Manager is extremely busy and it could be a day or two to return a call. I am trying to help an elderly friend get her denture and partials corrected. They do not fit in her mouth she can not talk or eat with them in her mouth. And they are refusing to help and have lied to her about the process and the cost. Will not recommend this business to anyone read more

Do not recommend!! I paid in full for my services before my services were even done and still every time I come they tell me I have a balance due of a couple hundred dollars! They also charged me for my kids teeth cleaning when I asked them to make sure they were ready for it due to Medicaid only paying for it every 6months. They said we were good and then went ahead and added the bills to my care credit card without my knowledge. Horrible business and only out to take your money. read more

WARNING! DO NOT GO HERE! I went in with extreme tooth pain only to be told nothing was wrong and I just needed to give them $170 for a good cleaning and that would help. Ummm...no. I went home, flossed, and opened up a huge infected abscess. Next day, infection was worse and my jaw was swollen up to twice the size. How did 3 different medical professionals not see this during the exam or on the x-rays!!? They have absolutely so concern for patient care, they are only in business to make money. They commit insurance fraud just to pad their own pockets. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS. Go to a smaller dentist office where they know that the patients are actually what matter and will treat you like an actual human being, not a bank account. read more

Aspen lawsuits must be valid from my experience, Dr Buford and assisitant were singing money, money while working on me, the office manager handed me a recommended needed dental work without any explanation of what needed to be done or possible alternative dental services, he was cold and concerned only about how much money he could make. Don't get hooked with their free examine's and x-rays, they make up for it on other service's, this is a quake general dentistry. Do yourself a favor and stay away from aspen. Dave read more

So I needed to go to the Dentist today so I went to Aspen Dental in Bay City. After a 2 hour appointment they took me into a guys office to go over what I needed. 3 crowns, 3 buildups, 4 fillings and a cleaning. $8,076 before insurance discounts. My portion $5, 059. I was not very pleased or satisfied with my recent visit to this location. The dentist who saw me seemed very rushed and not very friendly or outgoing. Barely spoke "to" me at all and then he got up and was gone. Everything seemed disorganized and like no one knew anything. I left very unhappy with the bulk of the service I paid for. I went to get some xrays done to schedule an appointment to get my tooth pulled. I was tild it would need a root canal which is 900$ and my insurance doesnt cover it. So undecided I'd rather deal with the pain of grtting it pulled then pulling 900$ out of my butt to get a root canal done. When I told the dentist I couldn't afford it she continued to tell me that I needed a root canal which i already knew. After I had already told her I couldn't afford it she told me SHE'D rather me get a root canal and asked my insurance jf they'd cover it after I already told her they wouldn't and that I wanted it pulled. She them told me again that a root canal should be done and how pretty a nerve it is to be working on. I had to tell her, not once, not twice, BUT 3 TIMES, I couldnt afford a root canal and that I wanted it pulled. She finally listened and I have to go in soon to grt it pulled. She listed on and on about how much the root canal is and how much it is to grt the crown and everything else. After what was supposed to be a 45 minute appointment I left an hour and a half later. 2 times the time I was supposed to be there. read more
