Told me I needed $2300 deep pocket cleaning and our insurance would not pat anything. Found a different Dentist, O'Leary Dental in Girard, Pa. They said my problem is nowhere near as bad and our insurance is fine. This place is a huge corporate ripoff hearding people in and out to make as much money as they can. Last year, my husband struggled all day with an unpaid insurance claim only to find Aspen created a fake duplicate account. got a consultant was told my insurance was accepted left with a virus after my sept 17 th visit was ill for 3 months it was my third visit. called receptionist spoke on phone i said i can't locate my bottom dentures, she called back said come in. i got there the dental asst came ou.t and said we tried to call because you needed them. fortunately i had located them prior to leaving for appt. that was the first disconnect, i should've known they never took any other insurance outside of private after they got on their feet 35 yrs ago they used they system got on their feet and ditched public assistance medicare and medicaid. i was in immediately, the dentist said i had 6 teeth that needed replaced i'm missing 3 teeth. i told the hygienist recount she said four, i recently had 1 pulled. had a partial with other 2 already missing clearly it's 3 . the racket their running is disgusting to say the least they scammed 200.00 for a procedure my insurance wouldn't cover to find out it was a cleaning which is normally covered. they portrayed they were replacing 6 teeth and not good at it the insurance picked up on it quickly they were denied. humans only have 2 of the teeth they billed them for 4 . it's so frustrating they billed me for $1296.00 their attempt at insurance/ medicare fraud was unsuccessful attempt. i feel compelled to speak on how the government is always making the citizens of the united states feel like we are milking this economy however it's the government falling short on regulating. it is the oldest trick 226 gypsy switch its your own minions corporate friends and investors who are draining the usa . the shady practice called me and said it's resolved we fixed it, then turned around and reported me to the harris and harris credit bureau. oh my god the particular practice is on peach st in summit township erie pa. i do not play with my credit. prior to the bill and me calling corporate united healthcare insurance and i were on the phone with the receptionist for two and a half hrs waiting for the finance dept. the receptionist continued to pick up and hang the phone up on us . aspen dental i'm referring to is on peach st in summit township ms. thurston is the receptionist and mrs.kinsinsky is finance consultant. they're practicing fraud embezzlement and extortion whomever is the franchise owner is complicit in these fraudulent behaviors if their not following up. the same recurring problems that are being reported, it's sad the citizens carry the wt for these corporate giants and investors who are politically affiliated who never are audited or investigated aspen has so many complaints the consumer protection agency hasn't been dismantled for no good reason. this is the most tell tell transparent move in history clearly you believe you can hold the table without legs the bottom feeding is over you're gonna feel the raft you want eat off the floor, welcome on it at it's just began it's a slow trickle but all these conglomerates have a lifestyle they have to sustain surely the trickle will come to a halt. that's called a scheme there is no reason i wouldn't ever go any where near aspen dental for anything, i may go to jail. they have a history of playing with people and these are not the times to do this in. it is all about transparency the receptionist is the pam bondi of dentistry and she is treading in a terrain she has no idea about. it's not a coincidence these accusations are coming against this practice they're to frequent. when things go down she's going as well because god forbid you get the right one she's catching all the smoke at that front desk! read more

My experience getting dentures about 8 years ago was great. But when I called to try to get them cleaned and relined they couldn't tell me how much it would cost because I wasn't a recent patient (I was told I wouldn't be in the system and the assistant didn't even take the time to check when I asked). Doctors seemed fine and know what they are doing, but other staff is unprofessional. My appointment got canceled twice (first time was my fault, second time I was 2 minutes away and they texted me saying they needed to reschedule). They were also ridiculously expensive.. I just set up an appointment with my old dentist who is in my hometown that is 4 hours away. A long drive, but in the end it's gonna cost less. The doctors themselves were not bad, but everyone else seemed unprofessional. They were short staffed yesterday, so I didn't mind waiting a little. But I had left my original appointment to talk about my finances and came back to discuss it with them maybe 5-10 minutes later. I had come back in to the person talking to another patient. This had become a problem after about an hour and a half of her having a casual conversation with this person. (I heard nothing about dentistry being talked about and there was lots of laugh. Hence why I say it was a casual conversation). My conversation could have taken 5 minutes. I had to leave because the receptionist called me up saying she didn't know when she would be able to talk to me. They were fine, but definitely could improve on things ‍ read more

Three times I have had to reschedual for my plates. No explanations no excuses, just terrible service from management.

I went there wanting a place to get everything I needed done. Had teeth pulled, and they left a piece of the tooth in my gums, cavities filled.. then when I went to get crowns prepped, power was out and had to reschedule, apparently from reviews this happens a lot, when I did go to my re scheduled appointment. All of a sudden I needed a root canal they don't do root canals so I was left to find a new dentist which ended up I didn't need a root canal, so I now have a new dentist that was able to fix their mistakes. read more

Absolutely horrible. Had an appointment for x-rays in August. Got them done and was supposed to have my cleaning that same month. After they cancelled my appointment for cleaning 2 times, and sent me an email to cancel the appointment for a third time, I called the office to find out the appointment hadn't actually been cancelled. They proceeded to do a standard check for gum disease and told me I needed a $2,400+ procedure done after they told me everything looked great at the previous appointment for x-rays just 3 months prior. This place has 1.5 stars for a reason, and quite frankly, that's 1.5 stars too much. Avoid going here and find a real dentist's office if you can with organized staff and structure, customer service, and dentists who can correctly read x-rays. read more

This review is not based on a dental procedure, but I want to share a recent experience. While driving on 38th street, my 3-year-old daughter suddenly started screaming, claiming that something was stuck in her nose. I pulled over behind the dentist's office and went inside, leaving my husband and son in the car for help. The receptionist kindly provided me with some Q-Tips. Despite my attempts, my daughter wouldn't let me remove the object from her nose. Dr. Veenna came out and allowed us to come inside after hours to help. She tried to assist us, but my daughter eventually managed to blow the Hershey kiss foil wrapper out on her nose. Dr. Veenna and her staff's willingness to help a stranger after hours is truly commendable, and for that alone, they deserve a 5-star review. read more

Has to be the worst dental experience ever. My husband went in to get dentures. Had a consultation and made payment arrangements. He had an appointment for the following week to start the procedure. When he arrived they told him someone was not there to do the procedure and made another appointment. Arrived for that appointment and was told their computers were down and couldn't get into any of there information. They took our phone number and said they would call to reschedule. He never heard from them and when he called they wouldn't return his call! Completely unprofessional!! plus it cost us gas for 30 mile round trip each time read more

I set up my "first" appointment for a late afternoon, upon arriving I was told they "tried to reach me multiple times" however I got no calls, no texts, aside from one the day prior asking me to confirm my appointment. They then blind rescheduled me and said they'd send me something with the new date. One month later I tried calling them 3 times, I left 2 messages and got no return call. I finally reach someone after 2 weeks of trying and they said I was never rescheduled and would reschedule me AGAIN. I was told to schedule a morning appointment to ensure I wouldn't get reschedule. Come day before this 4th rescheduled appointment and I get a call to reschedule A G A I N! I'm not sure if they have no staff or just flat out don't know how to run an establishment but to be rescheduled that many times in a course of 4 months is both unprofessional and quite frankly careless. Do not go here, I repeat, DO NOT GO HERE. I went here to get my wisdom teeth looked at & the dentist I had WAS IGNORANT AND UNPROFESSIONAL. I ended up having a few cavity's and they were so rude about it. My mom pays extra for good dental & wanted $88 per cavity. So I decided not to go back. I recently moved to a different city & when I got my mail, they called collections on me for a lousy $10. Which pissed me off bc seriously $10 why not just call & let us know before going & contacting collections. This is DEFINITELY the place to avoid. I mean, at all costs, seriously. I suffered a broken filling, called Aspen Erie, and was told that I could not schedule an appointment that week because the dentists were not sure of their availability. Called them the next week, and I again could not schedule an appointment because the dentist was on maternity leave for the next two weeks. The receptionist said she would put my name on a waiting list and give me a call when the practice was filling teeth again. Two weeks go by, and I call Aspen Erie for a third time. This time there is no answer. I called the next day, still no answer, so I left a message, basically begging for an appointment. I called twice more later that week. I called the next week, one month after the filling broke. Still no answer, so I left another voicemail. At the end of that week, I FINALLY was able to talk to somebody. They finally answered the phone. (they didnt bother to respond to either of my voicemails, OR call me back like they initially said they would) I was able to schedule an appointment for a Friday morning, a day that I had off work. On Thursday, at 4:40 pm, they called me and said my 9 am appointment for the next day had been cancelled because the dentist would not be in the office. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?????!?????!!!! So I called them on Friday morning to reschedule. AGAIN.......no answer. If this sounds like something that you would be inerested in, by all means, give the Aspen Dental folks in Erie, PA a call to set up an appointment today!!!! (Only you probably wont get through because they generally do not answer the phone) Do yourself a favor, and steer clear. Completely unprofessional, dishonest, and non-communicative. I hope this doesn't develop into a root cavity before I can shop around and choose another dentist and get in to have this problem addressed. I have never been treated so poorly by a dentist, or any other service provider or business in my life. I am being as honest and objective as I know to be. I'm trying to help you avoid the incredible nightmare that this practice will put you through. Imagine how they could screw YOU over! Do not risk it. Plenty of options out there. Apparently, this office cannot afford to hire anyone to answer the phone. Too bad for seniors who don't have a computer, because it's the only way to get an initial appointment. I did, however, go online and get a first appointment. The office called to confirm and I asked if I could have x-rays sent from my former dentist. We exchanged e-mails and I thought all was well until I showed up for the appointment and the receptionist said they didn't have my x-rays. They never called to let me know this. They let me drive all the way there for nothing. As I had already had several x-rays from a previous oral surgery, I refused to let them take more. So I made another appointment in hopes of getting the x-rays to them myself. Unfortunately, this was not possible due to their lack of technology. So I had to cancel again. I rescheduled and ended up having to have them take new x-rays after all. Frustrating!! Not the worst part, though. After waiting close to an hour for my appointment they took x-rays from every conceivable angle of my mouth, then sat me down to tell me I needed approximately $5,000 in dental work and they would make an appointment as soon as I wrote them a check. I asked for a detailed estimate of the work to show my spouse and was given a handwritten total instead. I took it and left. My spouse was not happy. But we at least agreed to have them take care of a cavity first and see if they could redeem themselves. Since then, I have called several times. No one ever answers the phone! I always leave my name and number. No one has ever called back. Obviously, they will not be getting my $5,000!!! read more

Sought a second opinion and found thousands of dollars of work did not need to be done starting with a tooth extraction and implant. Nice people but recommended $11k in work 2nd opinion was below $3000 they wanted 4 root canals and 4 crowns. They were right on the cavities and which tooth but did not seem to have the experience or didn't care to do fillings where they could instead of root canals and crowns. Definitely go for a 2nd opinion could save you a lot of money and get a better result. read more

Went to Aspen Dental on Interchange Rd. They recommended over $3,000.00 worth of work. Sent me out for a root canal. Called back to make an appointment to get the tooth capped and they told me I would have to get the over 3,000 dollars worth of work before they could cap the tooth. What a scam! Now I have to find another dentist to cap the tooth. I'm originally from Toledo Ohio. Had great dentists there. Since I have moved here to Erie PA I have never met so many money grubbing dentists! A kind review for the ONLY dentist in the practice, but insufficient service at times of emergency as a result. I lost a temp crown on a Friday afternoon, waited more than 30 minutes to reach a live agent. Finally got a call back from the dentist supposedly "on call" only to be told I could only be seen during regular office hours. Unfortunately, even after I explained that I had a very important job interview on Monday morning, there was no accommodation for my need. A big ZERO rating for this practice as a result. They apparently have no ability to truly deal with any kind of dental emergencies. read more

So far it's a nightmare. My tooth had a nerve exposed and needed a root canal and crown...so I was told. Quoted me $4000 worth of dental work. (my teeth are actually very good condition except for the painful molar). I had to beg for a quick appointment due to the pain. During the injection the hygienist punctured through my cheek. I felt the needle exit out the side and have a puncture wound there. She was absolutely brutal. Obviously she was having a bad day. Her bedside manner could not have been worse. The assistant that took my xrays and helped the dentist was very kind and sensitive (she had a strong accent). The dentist, who was nice but annoyed when I wanted to just have the tooth pulled, performed the procedure but one hour later the filling fell out. I called the office, the response was take Tylenol and use over the counter filling paste. I am in so much pain I can barely function. My appointment isn't until next week. I'm hoping another dentist has mercy and will take me in to finish this procedure sooner. read more

Went to get new dentures, I have implants on the bottom. Due to an insurance issue I was told the caps that hold them on were not covered. I filed a review with my insurance company. While waiting for this review I got a call from Mike (Erie office) who stated that they wanted me to come in and get xrays. I explained I had those same xrays at my regular dentist and offered to bring them in, nope, they wanted their own and would not charge me. A few days after the xrays were done, I get a call from Mike stating that my implants were compromised and they could not do them. I asked how and he did not have the answer, he would get back to me. He never did and I decided to wait until I heard back from my insurance appeal. I did call my regular dentist during this time and asked if there was anything on my xrays that would suggest any problems with my implants...nope, none at all. I finally received me appeal and the caps were covered so I called them back. I wanted to know what the issues was with my implants, Mike...again, said he would ask and get back to me, no call back. I called again and told him I wanted to talk to see what the problem was. One of his statement was odd, he said that the dentist did not read my xrays, another dentist did and told him they were compromised.. what???? So I told him I wanted to see the dentist and find out what the concerns were. He scheduled an appointment for me. I went to that appointment, waited and waited, finally Mike comes out and says the doctor is going to be a half hour more, he was running late. Due to another scheduled appointment for work, I could not wait for them to get around to me. I asked Mike if I could have my records sent to the surgeon who put the implants in. He said yes, I asked to sign a release to have them transferred. Mike said I did not need one since I was there, in person, to make the request. I know this was not accurate but gave him the surgeon's information, name address etc and said to him are you sure I don't need a release, nope I did not. A couple more weeks went by, nothing sent to my surgeon. I called and this time got an Ashley, explained to her the situation, she said she would look into it and get back to me..... Another week went by, I called again left a message for Ashley. Waited and called again, this time I got Mike told him Ashley was looking to the records for me, She eventually got back to me and guess what...I had to come up and sign a release, go figure... Then the pandemic hit and everything closed. I attempted to call thinking maybe someone would be at least in the office, nope rang and rang, no voice mail. We go into the yellow, things are starting to open up again. I call again, I finally was able to get my records, after a threat to file a complaint. I took them to my surgeon who says, there is nothing wrong with my implants. I read one review on here that said the wait time was short, not in my city. The only good thing I could say is that they did a quick repair of my current denture. That is the ONLY good thing I could say. Horrible services. read more

My experience at Aspen Dental in Erie, PA has been mixed. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They always meet me with a smile and answer all my questions. They can usually get me an appointment quickly and one that fits inside my busy schedule. The friendly staff cannot overcome the gross incompetence of the dental aspect of my experience. I recently chipped a front tooth and I'm currently in the process of getting this fixed with bridgework. This continues to be a frustrating, tearful, and unpleasant experience. First, I was told that a surgical implant would be the appropriate treatment option, but later was told at follow up, which was with another dentist, that would be inappropriate treatment strategy. I was charged $800 dollars for the first appointment for poor information. Secondly, I have been into the office for the final bridgework twice. Yes you read correctly twice. The first time the bridge was not made properly by the lab and therefore didn't fit properly. The bridge was sent back in order to be remade. This is understandable every one makes mistakes. I went back a second time to get my bridgework performed. This time the bridge was made even worse then the first time. The excuse from the dental office was either the lab isn't making them correctly or the first dentist didn't measure correctly. Their solution is to send the bridge to the same lab and re measure my mouth. Each time I get several numbing injections and endure drilling and shaving of my teeth to be told the bridge work doesn't fit. Not to mention that my temporary fillings have chipped in half once already and the dentist told me that I need to eat soft foods and if it breaks again tough. I'm eating mashed potatoes and gravy for the past 2 months because your dentist can't figure out how to get my bridgework to fit correctly. read more

Dr Veenna did an excellent job fixing my broken tooth. I went to have it extracted but her caring and expertise convinced me to have it fixed. I'm glad I did. By the way, it was almost the same cost. All the employees were very nice and seemed happy. I've always been afraid to go to the dentist Bc of money and just plain fear of the place but the visit wasn't bad at all. The dentist was very gentle and gave me many different options and I felt that he really listened to what I had to say. My wife was hesitant to go forward and go to the appointment but the office manager was helpful by getting us into their schedule and figuring out payments. Twice when I went to the office for an appointment, I was left sitting in the waiting room without being served. The first time, I signed in and waited 35 minutes, the second time I signed in and waited 45 minutes. If they were overscheduled or behind schedule, they could have told me about the delay, and I would have been okay. However, they just let me sit there without any notification.
