Ads say they can repair broken dentures, I called to set an appt for discussion. I was seen in a timely manner. They took my broken dentures, left the consult room and was back within minutes informing me they could not repair.... but .. they would take me to her to consult. They took me to a room where I was pitched the purchase of new dentures. I felt they were dishonest in their dealings. Would not recommend. Ever. Ever. Never. Everytime I have been to the Galesburg IL. office I have only been met with total respect and friendly attitudes! I've always hated going to the dentist because in the past they were dreary waiting rooms with outdated furniture and cranky receptionist! Don't even get me started on that funky smell! Then to add to the whole experience the dentist back then sort of treated you like a number- come in and consult quickly and get right o hurting you!lol That was the way of the old dentist- Aspen Dental is great! They have a friendly energetic staff and professional dentists who go way out of their way to make you feel comfortable! The waiting rooms are clean, modern, they provide TV and coffee while you wait! The dentist go out of their way to get to know you and make you feel at ease before any procedure, but let's face it- things are going to get pretty uncomfortable and the pain is coming right? Well, these guys are good! Maybe it's the fact that the dentist I have had seem genuinely concerned for me that the initial shot is the only pinch I feel. I've had Air Force dentist get up in my grill and strongarm their entire weight on me trying to take a molar out but the Aspen dentist have never left me with a negative experience like that! I've even had a couple of dentist their speak to me in spanish! I don't speak spanish but I appreciated the effort they made to get to know me!lol read more

Although Dr Jonathon Gifford is somewhat personable once he gets to know you he is not aware of drugs that cause complications in a clients dentistry. Cancer patients are given many such drugs. After seeing Dr Gifford he asked just exactly what he should do because I had been given a drug that stands in the way of having extractions yet Chemo had destroyed my teeth. I believe he is the one certified to preform dentistry and he should either know what to do or research the issue like professionals in other fields. Just not impressed. read more

I've been to similar places so I'm accustomed to the routine, however it wasn't busy I took my 83 yr old Parkinson's father there for a realignment of his dentures the appointment operator stated it would be beneficial to arrive 15 minutes early to fill out papers, so bc my father is slow moving I arrived at 1:00 pm when we entered the facility the receptionist was with a customer I believe consulting him, she did not acknowledge our presence till I said Hello! She said I'll be right with you and proceeded to talk with said customer! At 1:28 she finished with said customer and gave us our paper work! I then said huh our appointment is 2 minutes from now!! Bottom line she should have been better at multitasking!! My dad was pleased AFTER the consultation! But he's easy! He's 83!!! Emily and Brandon are so worthy of their position! read more

My Husband went for a cleaning and to address a cracked tooth. The cleaning was not good. The hygienist kept dropping her tools and he doesn't even think she flossed his teeth. He feels like he didn't even get a proper cleaning. He had to get a crown for the cracked tooth. He started out with one dentist he felt good about but on the next visit to complete the crown, he was given another dentist. The second one was not great. And he kept grinding on the good/intact molar to make the crown work on the damaged tooth. My Husband had to eventually tell him to stop and told him to make it work without grinding on the good tooth. So far so good, but how many people actually tell a dentist "stop" when they are doing wrong? read more

This is the second time I am here and the second time I am getting terrible treatment. After the first time I told myself I will never again step inside this building but I did today. I came in for tooth extraction, I got sit down in the dentist chair, I was left and I waited for 45 minutes sitting in that chair for dentist to come in and numb me, after he numbed me he left for another 45 minutes. After that him and his assistant came back and were battling with my tooth for about 15 minutes and didn't extract it all and they left me bleeding with the gaze in my mouth so they can go and see other patients??? I am currently waiting for them for 25 minutes, no indication when will they come back. This place closes in 9 minutes so I am not sure what the hell is going on. I am almost been here for 3 hr for tooth extraction with them coming in and out. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I was quoted an amount on my visit for a crown and cleaning. I paid for it thinking that was it. Months later, I am charged an extra $140 which is ridiculous since I'd already paid almost $500. Apparently, there was a cancer screening and other cleaning things that weren't covered by my insurance. If I'd known this was a possibility, I would have never done it. The dentist here is the most abrasive and rude "professional" I have EVER dealt with. I do not even know his name since his staff never called him by name, let alone the fact he never introduced him self to me. After waiting an hour and forty minutes to even be put in a room, he walks in and begins berating me for what he thought I was there for. Even after explaining why I was there, he continued berating me and I should have walked out then. During the exam, he spoke to the assistant in the room, not me. And when he was finished, he abruptly got up and left the room. Not a Thank You, Hope to see you soon, NOTHING. I would NOT go back even if he offered free lifetime dental care. Well my wife and I were watching tv and there was a advertisement it was the new aspen dental they were offering 30 percent off to new customers. My wife needs dental work I am retired and far from wealthy but since they were giving 30 percent off we decided to take the offer. Well my wife went in and I came inside to wait for her. Nobody said why don't you go back with her. Well after about hour half she came out and said that they decided she need a transplant to secure her teeth in place and she showed me a bill for $6000 she had agreed on well I looked at it to see if got discount they had not gave her one. The next day I called charge card and they already sent them the money. Let me say this my wife paid cash for the extraterrestrial she had done so she didn't owe them a Penney she called the office and told them to cancel the charge that was five days ago and I just got off the phone with credit card company they haven't heard anything from them and said I still owes for charge. I have gone to this location because they advertise their lower prices, and it is reasonably close to where I live. In approx. one years time I saw at least 2 staff members, and 3 different Dentists leave the practice. I was there for an over denture (dentures over implants) and one set was finished, but a staff member dropped, broke them, and then repaired them ..... not good. I couldn't wear them. Second Dentist : Panicked when he couldn't remove the next set, by using some kind of metal device, which left my gums injured and bleeding. They gave no reason for his leaving. Next Dentist : Excellent knowledge, and the dentures were almost perfect at the first fitting. I scheduled an appointment for the final fitting, and when I arrived, yes, you guessed it, they told me that he had to leave the area for a family emergency and, there was no replacement for him at that time. I ask for the dentures as to take them somewhere else for the final fitting ....... they told me that they had been disposed of ! Now they have a new dentist, so I made another appointment. The first thing that they ask me for was $35. for a check-up. When I told them that my appointment was for new over dentures, impressions, etc. they told me that the new dentist doesn't do them ! By the way, it appeared that all of the previous staff was gone, and for the most part, they were all very good. read more
