Soooooooo.... I called Aspen Dental on Sunday to make an appointment for a tooth I broke on the same day. They said they can get me for an emergency visit on Tuesday at 3:15pm. Well, I show up to wait 45 minutes after my appointment time. (No, they weren't busy) I get taken back to X-Ray, that girl Stephanie was great! Loved her! She takes me back to the room and in walks some guy that doesn't say hi, hello, go F yourself... Nothing!!! He doesn't even introduce himself to me... Tirns out he was Dr. A. ‍He shoves his hands in my mouth and starts spitting off all this dentistry lingo. He asks me 1 question and then says okay, book it and leaves. Ummmmmmmm exfuckingcuse me?!?! $1,300 to get a crown... Over $300 to pull it. Ohhhhhhhh and the best part!!! I found a small bottle of LOCAL ANESTHESIC on the ground!! Like whaaaaat?!?! They are not up front with pricing and uninformed about what various dental plans they accept cover. In addition they can take payments but are unable to help with billing questions in office. You have to call corporate about billing questions and the customer services reps work at home. The one I spoke with had a TV blaring and kids screaming in the background. Both my husband and my bills had mistakes in the hundreds of dollars which the rep immediately fixed. This experience leads me to believe the work at home situation is what led to the errors in the first place. In addition, I did not appreciate the person in the office repeatedly saying "your delinquent bill" in front of the entire waiting room. At one point she even told my husband, "I remember talking to you about your delinquent bill last time". That was over 6 months ago and we did not have an outstanding balance at that time. The care received is adequate, but not great. The dentists and hygienists have a high turnover rate so there is no continuity. Appointments get rescheduled and cancelled frequently without any notification. Prices are not as affordable as you would expect from a large corporation. Local, private dentists here are cheaper and provide better care. read more

For the second time, they couldn't keep my scheduled appointment because of a "system" failure . Even though my appointment was after noon and I thoroughly prepared for it and I arrived a little ahead of time, they couldn't perform a relatively routine tooth extraction because the only staff member on site was a very pleasant receptionist. Having worked on the teeth next to the one to be removed, they were very much aware of my situation and my aching tooth. They provided no advanced warning ( text, phone call.... I had the worst experience here. I usually write only good reviews, but I thought I have to write it down for other people. This place is a scam. I have been having a severe tooth pain for a long time, have been going to different dentists. My American husband finally found this place and went with a hope.Since I don't really know the system or average price, I completely trusted him. I had several X-rays (probably more than 5 times), 3D teeth pictures, and consultation. I was told that there is a puss underneath of a tooth and have gum and bone disease. (I actually went to see the other dentist, but he never mentioned about it at all, and told me that it looked good.) They told me that I need to pay $702 to treat everything, so I paid with my card before the treatment. After waited for a while, I had "gum treatment" which was almost same as a normal teeth cleaning which I already did a month ago at the other dentist. The other dentist showed up and checked my teeth with pain, and they told me that the treatment for today is all finished. I came to the office to treat 2 teeth with severe pain, but the most important treatment was not included in $702. They actually quoted additional fee for the root canal treatment after the consultation...I am very disappointed with the experience as an immigrant. This place is horrible. Run from this place because not one person knows what they are doing . And the so called dentist messed up my teeth so bad they are cutting into my lip. Going to see a lawyer next week. There are great dental places out there just not this one. They will think twice about messing up someone else by the time my lawyer is done. We Work Hard For Our Money! Very clean! Very Friendly! Lots of Employees! Latest Equipment! (High Overhead) Foyer was welcoming was greeted with a smile! Having been in sales for over 30 years I saw the up-sells coming!! They are very professional! They have the latest technology in X-rays! The examination by the dental hygienist was very thorough Then came the examination by the Dentist very informative. This young doctor criticized and called my Dentist of 30 years old school? Bless his heart! He explained this is how they used to do filling in the old days. But today this is how we do it! FYI there is nothing wrong with the filling! He said it is going to hurt soon could be tomorrow or ten years? I just came in for a cleaning! After the examination I was put in a nice waiting room! Then the sales manager came and got me. I do have a very good dental insurance. She explained to me that if I wanted to do the work on one of my upper back molars(which is ok now) and get a deep cleaning it would cost $3449.00 oh and by the way they do offer financing? I said I just wanted a cleaning how much? Well because you have insurance instead of $1365.90 your cleaning will be $756.40? So then I called my old dentist in San Diego who is ten times more expensive then Knoxville dentist I explained to her the situation. The receptionist who has worked there for more then 30 years answered. You get your teeth cleaned every four months the service they are trying to sell is an over kill. I asked her how much would you charge me to do a deep ultrasonic clean my teeth if I did not have any insurance? She said $92. It would be cheaper for me to fly to San Diego for $392 visit my family get my teeth cleaned for free with my insurance! All I have to recommend to everyone is to get a "Second Opinion" read more

If I could give their patient care less than one star I would. The aftercare and pain management of their patients is not even a concern of theirs. Know you are just another dollar amount when you walk through the door. After 3 phone calls in tear's about pain they don't even call back and they truly could care less. Where do I start with this people? I just moved to town and I'm in the middle of getting settle etc. Since I don't know any dentist in the area I decided to look at my "provided list" and I end up going to this place. At first they were really nice and I specifically asked to have my teeth clean and that was it. The lady answering the phone confirmed my appointment and reassure me that I will be taking care off. Big mistake!!! Once I got checked-in they pull me directly to the X-ray room. What? I told you guys that I don't want X-rays and I only came here for a routine teeth cleaning. I got a set of X-rays done less than a year ago and they are good for at least 24-36 months and I also emailed them to you. They keep talking over me and they did the X-rays anyway because they "can't see my teeth" on the current set of X-rays according to them. Once that was done, they pull me to a different station where I though I will get my teeth clean finally. Nope! The lady told me the "dentist hygienist" will be with me shortly to discuss the X-rays etc. I asked again, When I'm getting my teeth clean? The young lady keep talking over me and asked me to wait for the "dentist hygienist". The hygienist came and took some "measurements" of my gums and I keep asking about my cleaning, but it was pointless since they keep talking over me and ignoring what I was saying. According to the "dentist hygienist" I did not have "gum disease", but I needed a deep cleaning and mainly they do that type of teeth cleaning with gum disease patients, but I didn't need to worry because they were doing that as a precaution. What?. Then the infamous "dentist" finally came and explained the same thing and told me that I need it to come back and they will do the cleaning then. I was beyond annoyed and furious by that point. After all that waste of time they pull me to the "accounting/billing" station to discuss payment and my next appointment. The check-out lady explained that after my health insurance benefits I will still own them $271.00 because they needed to do an "special" type of cleaning. Lady, I'm disable and I don't have money. Oh, no problem sir, we can put you on a "payment plan". WTF!!! Do you know how hard it was for me to get here since I'm disable? You passed me from room to room ignoring my wishes and now you are telling me that you can put me in a "payment plan" for something I didn't asked for? I'm confused!!!! She smile and said, "No worries sir, you can call us when you are ready for your next appointment and this is the break-down of the charges for your review". If that was not condescending, I'm not sure what is. This people are con-artist. The only thing they worry about is how to rip-off your health insurance charging them for services you didn't requested. If you couldn't do "just a cleaning" based on your "policies", you should be absolutely clear with your patients from the beginning! I'm filling a formal complain with my Health Insurance, The Tennessee Department of Health and The American Dental Association. Stay away from this people! read more

I hate having my mouth worked on. I drove an hour and a half to Aspen Dental. Dr. Cho and Mrs. Samantha where great. They made me feel real comfortable and relaxed. My gums had a disease in them and Mrs. Samantha did a great job cleaning them as well as my teeth. Dr. Cho pulled one of my teeth and made sure to explain everything starting to end. Let's start with , if you're in tooth pain you want to get the procedure done as soon as possible and If you are pregnant you can only get work done in your second trimester so I was time limited anyway because of my work schedule on top of having to find someone to watch my daughter. IF you want to do their job for them and base a business strictly on niceness of staff then you'll be perfect here. Everyone was nice and professional. That being said I was scheduled to have an extraction today and I'm pregnant which required a consent form from my obgyn which was told to me last Thursday which I called and told them to fax one here. So let's start with setting this up, I got a call telling me how much it's going to be upfront which was $29 but then I get a call back telling me that my insurance has been maxed out and that I need to bring the entire price of the extraction which is $222.70. So I call my insurance which informs me I still have $586 on my max left. So I have to recall aspen and tell them, at first they suggested refunding my money if insurance covers it (so asinine , why would you even recommend that ) to which I state why If I have plenty to cover it through insurance so then they ask me if they wanted me to have them recall my insurance and I asked them nicely to. Then they told me I wouldn't get a call until probably the next morning about it. So let's fast forward to the next day, I get a call back telling me insurance is covering it (no surprise there) that my out of pocket cost is $29 so to make sure I have $29 with me when I come in to my appointment. So morning of my appointment, I want to cry because I'm finally getting relief by pulling this tooth. I arrive and she tells me it's $59 dollars because of a past due balance. I told her I was only told to bring $29 dollars in, so I had to use money out of what I was paying toward my utilities. It's called a budget and you have to have one especially when you have another little one on the way, but regardless I was just happy to get the pain removed that day so I sucked it up and dealt with the fact I wouldn't be able to pay all my utilities. I sign things up front and I sign things in the back when I get put back there confirming they are operating on me , yadda yadda and I get the topical numbing gel placed in my mouth to numb before they numb it using a syringe. THEN ,honestly it didn't come as a surprise to me, they inform me they don't have the consent form from my obgyn, I even told the girl that. I said could I have not gotten a call before now so I could have made sure they had faxed it? Then she tells me if I can get them to fax it by the end of today they can do it Tommorow. IF ANYONE IS EMPLOYED you know how hard it is to get a day off regardless but then to get approved for a day off and can't even use it because of the incompetency of the office?! And how in the world can you get the next day off as well? So I just asked for a refund because I'm not coming back to this place. So like I stated previously, if you like doing someone else's job that they are suppose to be getting paid for then this place is meant for you. I'll reiterate, everyone is nice and professional there when it comes to their attitude but as far as doing their specific job (only talking about the girls upfront) , it's all you to do it for them. I signed up online for the $70 ish cleaning. I told them when I arrived I was there for a cleaning, no response from them. They insisted I pay for a $19 x ray up front. I thought I saw free x ray and exam for new patients, but whatever its only $19. I got an exam from two persons, they repaired a loose crown. It was $88 after asking office manager, that's fine too. Then I was brought upfront for the hard sell. $1235.60 for the mac daddy cleaning and recommending 3 fillings for a total of $1875.20. I said no thank you I came in for cleaning advertised on the wed site. I was complete ignored , and smiled at, again. I asked again. Can I not just get a cleaning done, like I signed up for online? The BEST! Such a positive atmosphere. My only problem was one of the techs not listening when I was telling him my bite wasn't right. Too bad I didn't get his name. HOWEVER, one bad apple don't spoil the whole bunch! My new teeth were sooo beautiful. But they didn't fit BECAUSE OF THE BITE! AND the bottom teeth were crooked. HOWEVER, when I went back for a checkup a couple of days later, it was very noticeable. My very wonderful Technician, Kristen, saw it right away. Can't do anything now for a few weeks til my gums heal better. Kristen looked at places the new dentures were rubbing. She took them to the lab and came back with reformed dentures-okay, they quit rubbing raw places in my mouth. Kristen is THE BEST! Now let me also say, Scott did a wonderful job creating my dentures, they were Beautiful! Hey, we are all human, it wasn't Scott's fault there was a problem - even though the teeth were absolutely beautiful! When my children saw them and complimented them..well, 'nuff said!!! read more

*very important news flash* to everyone who is procrastinating with their issues concerning anything to do with their teeth. in my case i was dissatisfied with the options i was given from my office of 16 yrs, ask there very nice staff to send my x-rays to 3 other dentists and (of course) they all agree'ed with him. which was either pull the majority of my teeth and put in 2 partials or dentures. i came out crying it was like the death of a family member! i have always taken exceptional care of my teeth up until the last 5 yrs which thru cancer and other issues there after could barely get to the restroom! my husband called aspen dental, alot of people that he knows goes there and loves it! wonderful teresa answered & was soo patient & listened to my nightmare and told him, no, no bring her in here. even dr. cho got on the phone & listened to this mess and they immediately set my app for consultation. dr. cho and her staff blue my mind! right off they started planning their miracles and thoroughly explained several options !!! i instantly knew i was truly in a building slap full of angel's!!! from the time you walk thru their door you are family !!! the entire staff, each & everyone you honestly just want to bring home with you they allll are sooo wonderful. and don't even get me started on dr. cho, you will not find a more educated, knowledgeable, intelligent, from the heart truly personable, honest person or dentist!!! she saved the majority of my teeth built bridges and i couldn't be any happier. i love the outcome and i truly love each and everyone of those glorious gals !!! pleeeas, for what ever reason you are dragging your feet on finding an excellent team & getting your smile back call aspen dental lenior city and meet your new fabulous family !!! they all certainly have my heart & teeth !!! cynthia bailey loudon tn read more
