Aspen Dental in Lincoln NE is not a reputable dental office. They lied about having an oral surgeon on staff. They do not. I went to there office for an appointment based off several lies they told me. I had ex rays done that I told them I had already had done at my regular dentist. They said they needed to do new ones because they were what their oral surgeon needed. At the end of the ex rays the manager left the room to set up my appointment. The receptionist came in and handed me a list of 4 oral surgeons. I asked if these surgeon's were in my network. She said yes they w ere. Well no they were not . They were not even associated with Aspen Dental. When I called Aspen back to complain I got the run around. I asked to speak to the NEW manager 3 times that I called. They never got hee to the phone, and she never called me back. Now my insurance company is denying my ex Ray charges from Aspen. When I allowed Aspen to do the ex rays it was because they said I would not be charged for them as it was part of the dental service I would receive. Now my insurance has denied the ex Ray charges that Aspen had submitted. This office is a con. They lied to me the minute I called for an appointment with the oral surgeon they do not have. They should have never done the ex rays knowing they had no surgeon to do my surgery. They lied about having an oral surgeon IN MY NETWORK. NEVER US THIS SCAM OFFICE. read more

The office addressed my concerns after my review. When I went back for the rest of my cleaning they took the time to explain everything. I told them to take their time with new patients and explain how everything works with financing. I have to say the hygienist Jade is amazing. She took the time to explain everything in my first visit with her. She even followed up with my concerns. She even took consideration that mint flavored things tends to make me throw up or feel very nauseous. The money from insurance has been applied and they are holding the money from my insurance and then will give me a check to pay on my credit card when my treatment is complete. It was my first visit. Everything was ok except the financial department. The first number which was given to me was $4.400 as a total cost for 3 filling and one crown. When the gentleman saw I was hesitating, he said he could apply %10 discount. At that moment I remembered their advertising which say %20 percent discount for the first time patients. I asked. He said; Oh yes he can apply %20 discount. After the discount the final cost was around $3.500 Of Course I lost all my confidence and I said I will think about it. A few days later I got an email which offers %25 discount... It was not professional and trustworthy way. First I wrote this situation to their customer service. Than I got a phone call this morning. The guy was saying "Since they are nation wide company they have no idea about discounts." This guy was clearly lying. This discount advertisement is still at their website and their windows. I have worn an upper denture and a lower partial for many years. Over the years I have required both upper and lower be replaced. It was never a problem and done in a timely manner. I have never had a complaint about the quality of the denture and partial until I came to this place. During the pandemic I had an accident that broke off one of my lower front teeth. The tooth served as an anchor tooth for my lower partial. Both my upper plate and my partial were otherwise in good condition and no problem with the the way they fit. Upon initial exam I was told there was no way to replace the broken tooth and the only solution other than purchase implants was to dig out the remaining portion of the broken tooth and pull my remaining lower teeth and get a lower denture.... Or get implants. I felt they really leaned toward selling implants which my insurance would pay very little toward that process. Frankly, I did not care to involve myself in their payment plan to cover the cost of implants. Nor did I care to drain my bank account to pay for them. I have never had a problem wearing the upper plate with a lower partial and I have never had a complaint about the way they felt. After iver ONE year of driving the distance to and from this place to get the finished product I have to say I would never do it again. After my dental insurance paid over $2000 I had to pay out if pocket mire than $3000. I had oral surgery and both upper plate and lower partial replaced in 2015. The entire process took about 6 weeks and my out if pocket for everything was a fraction of what I paid at this place not to mention more than a dozen road trips to and from before I got what was to be the final set of teeth. Anxious for this day I received a set of teeth that right from day one did not feel right. They protruded like " buck teeth"and felt too big. I was told it would take time to get used to them . I was having trouble speaking normally as well as eating and had sore spots. After a substantial trial period with these teeth I had to go back , spit them out and visually point out the problem. I don't feel they welcome dissatisfied patients. Upon return with what originally were supposed to be my permanent dentures, I questioned if these teeth were even my teeth !! The profile looked nothing like my previous dentures. I could barely close my lips. This place advertises customer satisfaction but I felt some resentment when I returned unsatisfied. And even my complaint the teeth were ill fitting was turned on me that this was because of error on my part when the impressions were made!! Funny how an attempt to repair my initial situation had gone from bubbly and friendly greeting to cool and as if I had become a problem. Ill fitting teeth is a problem as bad as wearing a shoe with a rock in it. For the money, One would think that after 14-15 months the end would be in sight and the results would be pleasing. Once I got the ill fitting set replaced I ended up with teeth that look and feel more appropriate to my gums but they feel like sand paper! Every denture and partial I have ever worn felt smooth except the teeth I got from this place. They feel gritty like constantly I need to brush my teeth. It's an annoying feeling considering cost and time it took to finally get what this place calls my permanent teeth. I assumed the dentures would be polished or somehow made not to feel gritty. I pointed this out at my last appointment and some adjustment was made but the teeth still dud not feel like smooth clean teeth as did previous dentures that I have worn . I to was treated quite well in the beginning but when issues with the dentures began to surface I felt as if I had done something wrong and I was a problem. At that point I tend to agree. What I had done wrong was select this place for my dental needs! I felt they just wanted to get me out of there ! And I was told in the beginning they are dedicated to customer satisfaction. They had the money in their hands long before I had my permanent set of teeth . It makes one wonder if paying the entire bill up front is a good idea. There comes a point of frustration when a person just wants to throw their hands up in the air , say nothing and get the heck out the door. Going to Aspen dental was the worst experience of my life! My first time I was like a VIP patient once I had signed contract I was just another body. In 2020 I had 9 teeth removed at 7:00 am I was eating grilled cheese by noon. I went to have 11 teeth extracted by Aspen dental rather than pulled which I was led to believe I was cut ear to ear top and bottom I had stitches in my mouth for 10 weeks. My temp dentures never fit right I had to travel 60 miles each way to get adjusted when I was told I would only have about 3 or so appointments before I would get my permanents. I must have had 20 appointments I lost track. I finally got my permanents and they were to big for my mouth I told them that many times with temps and now the permanents. So they said they would have to send them out to be fixed. I went to pick them up and I had an appointment to get them. I went in and they handed me the dentures I questioned them about seeing someone and I was told once you get your permanents we only make sure they look right I was very upset and walked out. Now I spoke with several people about this experience I got a run around. To this day year and a half later I still have problems. I'm now see a professional dentist what happened to me at Aspen dental should have never happened. I went through pain isolation depression embarrassment starvation Health issues and time wasted in my life. So to anyone reading this please this company only wants your money they don't really care about the people. Please go to a real denist !!!! read more

I'am very disappointed in this dental service. made appt. for 7 March 18. They wanted cash before service, ($240). tooth removed and they told me i have credit for ($105). This was the worst experience I've ever had. The impression I got was this facility was more interested in adding extras to the bill than in actual dentistry. It's never a good sign when the care you receive is driven more by the office manager than by the dentist. They wanted to pull a tooth that didn't need pulling. No mention was made about the hole in another tooth that was very visible on the x-ray. Even with the information my dental insurance company faxed to the office about my benefits, they still tried over charging me. I originally went in for a bad tooth ache, and they said I needed to have major work done, they took me to their financial office and pressured me to apply for a care credit card. They then did work to use up all of the money on that card, ALL OF IT, then stopped all treatment. 3 - 4 years later, ALL of the teeth they worked on either FELL out or had to be removed. Lincoln NE office is horrible! I went in for an inflamed gun due to excess skin covering my wisdom tooth and even after explaining that I had X-rays done 2 weeks before as part of my regular checkup and that my problem was totally unrelated to my actual teeth but only to the gum surface they refused to even look into my mouth unless I did a full panoramic X-ray of my mouth. That was a first. Both the Doctor and Office Manager upheld their office policy as requirement for admission. This is one of the reasons healthcare costs keep going up. I am VP at BlueCross Blue Shield and know how much the cost of a Panoramic X-ray is. After letting them know who my employer was they settled for just a local X-ray of my wisdom tooth(still very unnecessary). Clearly the office is getting reimbursed for the cost of the X-ray, any normal patient pays their bill for a completely unnecessary (in my case) X-ray. My procedure was not done by the first doctor that saw me as she did not have enough experience in removing extra gum tissue (another first for a licensed dentist) I was asked to return in the afternoon and another doctor removed my extra tissue. He split the tissue in half. Removed one piece. The second piece fell into my mouth and he was not able to find it with his tools. Did not ask me to rinse my mouth, did not give me anything to disinfect the wound.Placed a folded gauze in my mouth and sent me on my way. The second piece of tissue resurfaced once I rinsed my mouth at home. I will definitely follow up with BCBS of Nebraska and with Excellus BCBS (upstate NY plan where I used to work where they are headquartered) to check on their X-ray practices as I am almost sure they should only be prescribed when necessary which could be a case of healthcare fraud. read more

I will admit, I had great customer service while in the office. The Lincoln staff were friendly and joyful. However, this has been an absolute nightmare dealing with these people after leaving the office. The billing practices are the worst I have ever seen. I went to this office twice, and highly recommend everyone avoid it. The first time, I provided my insurance card. They billed the wrong insurance company. How? Why? How and why would you bill an insurance company that I am not a member of after I gave you my card and you made a copy of it? I then received a bill 10 months later stating I owed the full amount. Obviously this was incorrect, yet I had to take time and energy away from my work day to spend an egregious amount of time speaking with both billing and insurance to get this straightened away. Had I known how bad their billing was, I vowed to never go back; however, I ended up doing 1 more visit within 6 months as I had not yet realized their terrible billing for another 3-4 months. The 2nd time was even worse. Again, I give them my insurance card and specifically stated they failed to bill my insurance last time. Please, don't make this mistake again. They did. They completely failed to bill my insurance yet again, meaning I received a full bill. This time, it took 14 months for me to receive the bill. Did you know that many insurance companies won't pay a bill if they don't receive notification within a timely manner of 12 months? So now I'm on the hook for a full-bill because of these absolute idiots. Oh yes, I forgot to mention they billed for services I did not receive. I specifically requested that I not get flouride treatment because my insurance doesn't cover that... That's right, didn't do the flouride, still got billed for it. How does a company get away with this? If I could give less than 1 star, I would, and would prefer Yelp allow me to give a Red X warning customers away. Last, even though I have moved out of the Midwest, I still get random automated calls saying I have scheduled appointments. read more

Be very careful if you decide to do business here. Check your insurance EOBs very carefully. Aspen tried to Bill me the insurance write off fees. I had to sic my insurance company and lawyer on them to get them to reimburse my overpayment and to stop trying to get more money from me. I've been there for a second opinion and i told them that i do not need a xray cause my insurance wouldnt pay for it since it will be the second time during one year and they told me that there wont be any charge, but they did charge my insurance and of course i ended up paying out of my pocket. i called the manager to talk about the situation and he said he will follow up with me. I will never go back to aspen dental. They are the worst dentist I have been to. They are bad with customer service, dental work, and billing. They are rude and argue with the customers. I had to call my dental insurance to prove what they covered and they still did not believe me and called themself. If I did not argue with them they would have overcharged me. In the past they did overcharge me and I had to get a refund. Their billing dept will tell you one thing and they will try to say something else after the fact. I have never had a place so unorganized and crooks. I have had a root canal and crown done and it still is causing me pain. I brought it up to aspen as to why I am still having pain, and they said possibly I need it redone. Like what you didn't do you work properly the first time. It cost me $1200. Worst dentist office I've ever experienced. Made a call to get a broken tooth fixed and my teeth cleaned. I had to make 2 separate appointments for the same day, and was still not guaranteed that my tooth would get fixed. I asked for a quote even a general one with my insurance and no one could do anything. Wonderful experience. I broke my denture and was leaving on vacation in 10 days. Aspen Dental got me in immediately and I had new dentures before we left. They made a wax set for me to try before making the new ones...something my old dentist didn't even mention. Very caring staff and am very pleased with their work.
