Judging by all the bad reviews, seems a lot of people don't care for this location, or at least didn't in the past. Maybe I caught them on a good day, don't know, but my visit and cleaning at this Aspen location a few months ago was pretty good. My only complaint is the hygienist was a little rough on my gums and they were sore until the next day. The staff were all pleasant and got me from the waiting room on time. Expect a lot of X-rays. It's a little odd that they require your first visit to be for X-rays and a consultation only (no hygienist cleaning), but they can try to work you in that day if the hygienist has time. Getting an appointment can be difficult as they seem to be heavily booked for several months. read more

In the word of dental services , they hygienist were great. Kind and compassionate. My first procedure i was in the chair 3 hours, the second was 4 hours. I was miserable for 2 weeks and bruised. Told to take motrin, tylenol and saline rinses. Which i did until my gums bled. Before the 4th procedure I addressed this fact and was assured by Dr Funderburk he would address this for me. My pharmacy recieved motrin and tylenol. When i requested a stronger medication within the Tennessee prescribing guidelines. I was told this physician was a "No narcotic physician" i respect personal decisions however I have the right to care and be treated. As referenced in Tennessee code Annotated and the patient bill of rights. This fact should be disclosed prior to treatment. So i have a 7000.00 mouth and a really bad taste to go with it. read more

my Dental hygienist traded off with another hygienist halfway through my cleaning. at one point, they would stop and go see what had just come in a delivery. and when cleaning my teeth, she forgot to clean underneath my bridge. She remembered that later and told me about it. I was having an issue with a tooth and she took the handle of her metal scraper (i'm sure they only have one size scraper and it's a giant one and it only takes about two minutes to clean your teeth and that is no exaggeration) and she thumped it on my tooth I have gone there for several years. I don't think I have ever seen a dentist. I had called at one point because one of my crowns came off, so I called and the gal that answered the phone told me I did not have a crown So I told her it had come off and it was in my hand and she told me that I did not have a crown there, and would not make an appointment for me. I had to go someplace that did not take my insurance. read more

I've used them for many years. This last time I specifically told them like I always do. I don't want anything done that is not covered by my insurance. On the way out they handed me a bag with toothpaste and a toothbrush and some mouthwash. I figured it was what they did to everyone when they left. Then I get a bill for $30 for the mouthwash. I call them up and explain to them what I had requested when I was there. The business manager or whoever it was said that when they did my billing when I was leaving it was showing zero. I said well listen. I'm not the first patient from United healthcare to come through there. And I'm sure you know from your experience with other health insurance companies that they're not going to pay for it. So take it off my bill or you'll never see me again and I won't pay it. They said they'll send it to collections. I said do it and I hung up. There should be a zero star option. read more

I had been to Aspen here in Morristown for several years. It is where I got my teeth cleaned....etc. Then they told me I had such and such many cavities I needed filled. 1st I had 9 cavities which they filled. Then I had something like 20 or so cavities....? The last dentist I saw there told me and the nurse these were not cavities. It was where I had been grinding my teeth. They worked to help fix the problem. The dentist told me they do not even charge for that. I was given a future appt. I started having financial problems which made it hard to get back and forth... I was finally given an appt for this last April which Aspen called and cancelled and they would make sure they rescheduled everyone's appts. No one ever called. I called them left voice messages, etc... In the meantime, my teeth were cracking, getting infected and downright making me sick...I was afraid of getting sepsis with the infections...This Tuesday I just showed up at the office. Was told I could not see the dentist because he had never seen me before. I was on my way to the ER when I stopped in at the VA clinic. My doctor did see me briefly and sent mouthwashes etc. through the mail to help with the infections. Got medicines the next day and beginning to feel somewhat better. Aspen could have seen me briefly, I have been to Aspen for years (but of course, no longer) The VA doctor isn't even a dentist but he was willing to help get some kind of treatment started. I figured since I hadn't been seen by Aspen, I do not owe community bank because I had not been seen in the first place. read more

in my personal experience , Rude unprofessional staff, and this business does not care even a little bit about their customers. I was in severe pain and was literally 2 minutes late for my appointment and they refused to treat me . I personally sat and waited 30 minutes past my appointment time a few years ago and they never said sorry about my wait , etc.. but they can refuse treatment on a regular customer for 2 minutes ... I stated I was sorry because I had to run back home and get the names of my blood pressure medicine because they requested a list of any medication I was taking . I would never ever ever ever ever ever recommend this place to anyone not even someone I did not like .. My fiance had an appointment yesterday and it was terrible. Every one in the office was rude, as a matter of fact he said there were others in there discussing how rude everyone was, and how everyone had an attitude. One worker was in such a rush to get out of there she didn't care what was going on. They made his mouth sore and bleed doing x-rays! I booked his appointment to fix a chipped front tooth and they told him several appointments from now they would be able to fix it. After telling him what good insurance he had they went on to tell him he had some gum disease, and would need several teeth pulled. He has NO teeth issues other than a chipped front tooth. We waited months to get this appointment (not their fault - and has nothing to do with my low review) all for him to spend well over an hour and a half to get nothing done, and deal with rude employees. He will never go back there! read more

I tried calling Aspen to get an appointment because I had a crown that broke on a front tooth, I called them on a Thursday about four times and got the answering service the answering service, answering service will only forward you if you have a true emergency. They won't take a message to give to the office staff. So again I called on a Friday and on a Saturday and then the next Monday and still could not get through, it always went to the answering service. So I called my insurance company and they also tried to call them and we're also sent to the answering service. Insurance company sent the office staff at Aspen a email requesting I get a appointment. I waited for another week still no front tooth! No one contacted me. The following week, now week three I called the office and after waiting about six minutes I was able to talk to the office staff. the woman was very rude to me. When I told her what my problem was she told me that I did not have a crown in that area! I assured her that I did. She again told me that I didn't! Apparently I finally convinced her that I needed an appointment and she reluctantly gave me one two weeks out. On one of the messages on their answering machine while you are on hold, talks about if you have a crown or veneer that comes off they try to get you in immediately lol. Good luck!!! read more

Had to wait over a month to get help with my problem. Date finally arrived but when I got there the Dentist was gone because of an emergency, which I totally understand, but I thought there was more than just 1 Dentist working there. Another appointment was scheduled for me OVER a MONTH later again. Don't waste your time with these people & don't sit home suffering like I have waiting to try to get in. Move on! Plus, listen to this....when I did go for the first appointment they had cancelled it because they couldn't reach me by phone to verify the appointment! What a load of crap! People do work & have other activities that they need to take care of. They cannot sit by their phones waiting for Aspen to call. I did verify the appointment over my smart phone but it did not matter. They had to have verbal verification! Crazy.... read more

I have been an Aspen Dental of Morristown customer for 5years and have always had great service till today. I have a broken tooth and they said the office manager can't get me an appt. till June 2. That's 21 days with a broken molar. That's awful for A customer that spent more then 7,000 dollars in the last 5 years. I said I will have to look somewhere else I can't wait that long and they just said ok thank you. Nothing like trying to keep a good paying customer. I think the office manager may need a class in retaining customers. read more

THE ABSOLUTE WORST DENTAL OFFICE EVER! The first visit for myself and my 2 children was close to 3 hours! During our first 2 hours, all they had done was take xrays for my 7 year old; nothing else....no cleaning, no exam, NOTHING! I finally stopped an employee in the hallway, and then we were bombarded with people trying to look at all 3 sets of teeth in 1 tiny room! It was a very unpleasant experience. The rude check out receptionist then scheduled a follow up to get 2 areas under old fillings redone. I was skeptical of the dentist's hasty judgment after briefly glancing at my xrays and the very odd explanation of deteriorating previous fillings, but I went back, and was informed by another very rude and haughty receptionist that they had cancelled my appointment after I drove 45 minutes there! They stated this was due to the fact I didn't answer their call the day prior to confirm. Once the appointment is scheduled, it is confirmed, in my opinion. I don't need to be harassed to coming to an appointment I scheduled. I was out of town in a Naturalization Ceremony for a family member, and was unable to answer! I've never seen a place that would cancel an appointment over someone not answering their phone! The entire interaction with this dental office was the worst dental experience I've had in my life! I would advise anyone looking for a competent, experienced, professional dental office to care for themselves or their families to AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! read more

I went in and paid $19.99 for X-rays! Thst was really good and everyone was friendly! I had a tooth hurting where I had lost a filling! I needed quick relief from that and they said did I want to be checked for mouth cancer! They said it would be $30 and they already had my card info to pay the $19.99! I said yes to the new exam where a someone just came in and looked in my mouth! I assumed they would charge it to the same card that I presented for the other fee because no one ask me for the card agsi. Then they proceeded with my exam! They said the tooth would have to be pulled and that I would need a root canal! They then sent me to the financial person who told me it would be $3200. She did not explain any kind of break down on the cost and I said I can't afford that and I left! I never thought anymore about it just assuming they had charged it to my card! I never got a phone call or letter! The next thing I knew they had turned it over to collection to ruin my credit! So I will more than likely never refer or go back myself unless this is made right with my credit report! read more

As a regular dentist office Aspen is great! I go to the new one at East Town in Knoxville and love the services as well as customer service AS A REGULAR DENTIST OFFICE. This one we are at in Morristown does have an orthodontist that comes regularly and can pull teeth as well as wisdom teeth. My sister made previous appointments to get all 4 of her wisdom teeth pulled and we arrived today for this to be done. She had already paid "total amount" a week before her extraction date today. We arrive ready for all 4 teeth to be pulled and they explain that it was a new receptionist that had given her the "total price" so the price to get all 4 wisdom teeth extracted would be well over 1400$. I was ready to leave and get a refund and go somewhere that would be made more clear and made us feel more comfortable. We talked to the experienced receptionist and are now able to get all 4 teeth pulled but for 1400$, 600$ dollars more than originally paid for. The only reason I am giving even a 2 star rating is bc of the nurse that was with the orthodontist who was very clear and informative with post op instructions. read more

After scheduling a dentist appointment several weeks in advance, I arrived a few minutes early for my 3 pm appointment and signed in and sat in the waiting area. 15 minutes later a young gentleman called me back to a desk and explained to me that because I did not respond to a text message that they sent me the previous day to call the office (which apparently was for me to confirm the appointment that I confirmed when I made it) that unfortunately they cancelled my appointment and he will have to get me rescheduled. The morning of my appointment I received a text message from their office which I am attaching that says welcome back, confirming the 3 pm appointment and saying see you then! When I pulled out this message, the gentleman said yes that's from corporate that's not from us, (so... is the previous message that asked me to call you also from corporate or does that one actually matter?) Are you that hard up that you need to double book your appointments? I am a great client to have, I have good insurance and have always paid cash for anything my insurance didn't cover. For future references the correct thing to do would be to apologize, not blame corporate and to get me back as soon as possible. Its called Customer Service, learn about it! read more

If you are ever looking for a reputable dentist office to use this is NOT the one to try. I had the worst dental work ever done at this office and trying to have any resolution through their customer service line has been a two month nightmare without any solution at all. It's worth the drive to go somewhere else and get it done right and to go to this drive through shotty work office where you WILL NOT be satisfied with what you get or the service after the work. read more
