Aspen is more of a commercial practice and the prices there are higher than most places to reflect that. Nice people run the place, legit professionals, etc... just count on paying a lot more than you would compared to the average family dental place. read more

I went in to Aspen dental for a new set of dentures they were more than eager to rapidly find financing a have them done within a week and a half. When the took the molds they used my old dentures the first time was no good they had to do again. The dentures never fit right from the get go . I couldn't eat with them without pain. After 3 months of adjustments I told them either make a new denture or start process of refund. They said the dentures meet all the criteria for good dentures except you can't eat with them instead of making them right they said you need dental implants like I would make the mistake of letting them do them lol. My old dentures fit perfectly and I can eat whatever I want. I my opinion there doctor's and staff are not up to par with other dental practitioners. Terrible customer service. I had a confirmed appointment for Tuesday at 3:00, but when we arrived, we were told it had never been scheduled. They couldn't do anything about it; the only solution was to give me another appointment a week later. It was just a waste of time--I wouldn't recommend coming here to anyone. read more

Today I received a bill for almost $5,000 dollars from a credit card they pushed on me. When I went for the appointment I wasn't sure what I needed to have done but before I left I was sent to the finance person to discuss cost of service. I had some preliminary exams that day which I had to pay for before they were completed. When I got home I knew I wasn't going back and called to let them know that. Then I called the credit card holder to cancel the application Aspen insisted I complete and told them to cancel the account. That was confirmed by the bank offering the card. Remember the exams that took place I had already paid for. I should also mention the credit card statement came from a bank I would never do business with as their practices are ones I would never recommend. The interest rate was listed as 32.99%. I have never had an experience like this one it's been a nightmare read more

Teeth will not even bite toast. No one ever looked in my eyes, they spoke behind my back even when talking with me. Ask me the same questions I had answered while making the appointment. Took an impression of my current false teeth, wanted me to leave the office without teeth, when I refused I was told to set in waiting room while they finished the impressions, after everyone else had left the receptionist ask what I was waiting for, I said "my teeth" after a few minutes she ask, holding up a plastic bag with my teeth," Are these yours?" Had they been sitting there the hour or so that I waited? Why were they not labeled? Why did they not notify my that they were ready? Dr Deets never introduced herself, and she made smart remarks when I was not happy with any temp plates they made. I told her that my original teeth were much larger that the false ones they kept making. She had the staff bring out a board with teeth samples and told me to pick the ones that I thought would be like my real original teeth. I did my best to pick, but I am not used to seeing teeth without gums attached. Next visit they brought out a final set, not a temporary and made it very clear she was tired of messing with me. I left but the teeth did not fit right and when I returned Dr Humpreys saw me and he was the only friendly person that I met at that office. He was great, he filed and filed on the denture until they at least fit in my mouth. I was so frustrated I did not return. I regret that I did not file a complain I just went back to my old set of dentures that have worn down so much they are barely useful, but after spending $2600. I cannot afford to go to a real dentist to get a useable set. They say they have a 7 year warranty on the dentures but I get so mad and frustrated I have not called corporate. I have not wanted to tell about my experience, but I am now trying to make sure others do not make the same mistake I did. Maybe I will get a lawyer and see what can be done. read more

Suffered the most pain I have ever had. They don't tell you anything about what is going to happen.

Aspen wants to push individual programs for your care, but don't explain clearly. They want to make as much money as possible with finance out of pocket expenses that insurance does not cover. These programs are unnecessary, but they imply that you must have them. No matter what your insurance covers, their program for you will use it all. Then comes the must necessities for you to get your dental work done, which is "out of pocket" expenses. Watch out, they won't inform you at first, but during your setup program procedures. I was told that Medicare would only pay for off white bottom of line dentures, using my whole insurance. If I wanted a bright white pair of dentures, I would need to sign a finance plan. Insurance would not pay for extra bleach needed to enhance and make dentures whiter. On second dental opinion, you don't need bleach to whiten your dentures. The color and brightness of white on your dentures are made at time of making. Their is no extra charge for whiter dentures. Then, on my third visit in regards to my partials, hygienist told me that my program would add gingivitis therapy. My insurance plan only covers deep cleaning. Front desk told me that I would need to sign finance plan for therapy or Aspen would not do my partials. My insurance pays for partial and deep cleaning, but Aspen refused me my need for partials without signing finance plan. Aspen agent told me that I could wait until next year when my insurance deductible would be renewed. By the way, their gingivitis therapy was for medicated rinse, medicated toothpaste, an electric toothbrush and proper flosser. Every three months would call for gingivitis treatment. Bottom line is that Aspen wants to clean patient's wallet before cleaning your teeth. They thrive on unnecessary procedures on your program that you don't need to gain more income on their finance plans. BOTTOMLINE: STAY AWAY FROM ASPEN DENTAL, find a more caring non money hungry dentist to care for your teeth. read more

I had been having pretty bad toothache pain for quite a few days but had not decided on a dentist to go to. When I woke up one morning with my jaw swollen to the size of a softball I knew I had to just choose somewhere and get it taken care of immediately. I called up Aspen & they told me, with the size of the swelling they could not do anything right away, but that they would call the hospital and make sure I was seen right upon arrival and treated immediately with an antibiotic for the infection and swelling. I appreciated this, as no one wants to wait hours in a hospital before even being seen. So this helped speed the process of getting my problem taken care of. Once I got into Aspen for my appointment a few days later, I was taken back for many X-rays first, then set down with Dr. Dietz to discuss what dental work I would need. She was very good at explaining to me what all needed to be done and why, as well as reassuring as I told her I had an extreme fear of dentists & dental work, almost a phobia. She explained the sedative procedures they could use and that they were all very gentle, & wanted their patients to be as comfortable as possible. I loved all of their attitudes and felt very comfortable in their office. That is, until I was taken back to their financial office to talk about all the payment options. They do estimates of what your insurance will pay for, and then you have to pay for your entire treatment plan up front. They have outside credit options where you can borrow money to pay for it and then pay it back in monthly payments. As I have no savings on hand, I am glad they offered this option and it is what I chose. However, I could not get approved for my entire treatment plan, which included removal of two abscessed teeth, removal of my wisdom teeth, a crown over a tooth I had a root canal on years ago, bridges, and periodontal cleaning. My entire treatment plan, after insurance, was still over $6,000. I had to shorten my treatment plan to just the periodontal cleaning and removal of the two abscessed teeth. I was also charged $135 for an electric toothbrush, which I did not see on my bill before I went through the process of borrowing money, & of course no one informed me of this charge. I do not believe it was a necessary charge and would have elected to remove that one, had I been informed of it. On to the dental work they did, when I went in to get my teeth extracted, I was given two pills, which they informed me would be a conscious sedation, and would make me very relaxed and sleepy, & not care what they were doing. They said I would not remember the procedure later. Boy, were they wrong! I remember the entire procedure and was not relaxed during it, as the dentist really struggled and was not gentle getting the second tooth out of my mouth. The pills did nothing to relax me. I cannot entirely blame this on them, as I have read many accounts of people being given the drug they gave me and being very relaxed or even asleep during dental work, however the drug did not work on me. At my first appointment they did half of my periodontal cleaning and the dentist was very gentle, numbed my mouth, and gave plenty of time for it to get entirely numb. On my third appointment, for the second half of my cleaning, she did not give any time after the numbing shots and went straight to work on my mouth. This made the procedure extremely uncomfortable and slightly painful for me. I believe they were all extremely reassuring and gentle on my first appointment, but that seemed to lessen at my second and third appointments and now I am afraid that any future appointments and procedures they will not be as comforting as they had been. I am still very grateful for the work they did, as I am no longer in the pain I was in. But I may look for another dentist for any future work. After my tooth extraction I was not given much after care instructions, such as when and what to eat, how to care for my open gums, or anything else. All I was told was not to drink carbonated beverages. I would have liked more information instead of going home and looking up after care instructions and tips on my own. I also believe that their dental practice may be more expensive than others. I know dental work is very costly, however a practice should inform you of all charges against you and what they are for before you pay them. I may return to Aspen for more work in the future, but I will definitely look around at my other options before doing so. read more

Have been going to the Frederica St. location for a couple of years. Overall good service. Staff turnover is about average for this community, regretfully. Most recent visit the wait was longer than normal, but service was good and dentist was thorough and friendly. Biggest reason for only four stars is a billing issue I've had. Took a year to let me know I had gotten a denial from insurance and had a balance due... hard to dispute or budget for that! I do love that they are open later on Thursday's so I'm not forced to miss work... probably the main reason I go there actually!! Over all I would and have recommended them to others. Especially if you haven't been or are afraid to go to the dentist. They are very good at getting you on track and feeling better! read more

As a first time patient of Aspen Dental I was more than optimistic. Had heard good things. And this set my mind at ease. Cause like many others I have high anxiety to going to the dentist. With that being said, they were well below my expectations. The office was dirty, several pieces of their equipment were broken and most of the workers looked like they just rolled outta bed. Ok, I don't judge a book by it's cover so I'll give them a chance. Aspen Dental prides themselves in getting patients in who are having tooth pain, even says that repeatedly on their recording when you call in. However, that is not the case for me. They require I do other dental work before they fix my tooth pain. Ridiculous! All about squeezing more money out of a patient is what this sounds like. Meanwhile my tooth hurts more everyday. I expressed this several times to the office manager who by the way is extremely rude & still no help is offered. Do not recommend them at all! read more

I have only been to one appointment at Aspen Dental, to check into getting a full set of dentures. A set of x-rays were taken, I was shown a video, and was examined by one of the dentists. Different types of dentures were discussed, and of course the most expensive were recommended. The staff was pretty nice and friendly. Then they took me to the little office where they tell you what everything will cost, and I was floored. I was prepared for paying a lot for a good set of dentures, but not as much as I was told. I need time to think about and discuss a huge expense like this with my daughter. They were a little pushy about getting a commitment out of me that day and wanting me to apply for a line of credit, which I will not do, but not to the point where I felt uncomfortable or harassed. They want an answer from me in two days (tomorrow). Unfortunately, it looks like I may have to wait a month or so before I can get started on my denture plan. I hope they're willing to work with me on that. Hopefully my rating will go up. read more

My wife and I set up appointments to be first time patients with this facility. We were told our first appointment was 9:30 am. We were even sent text messages saying this. We arrived a couple minutes late but had our papers already filled out so we were good to go. Then were told our first appointment was 8:45 am. So they said they could see one of us and we would have to sit and wait to see if there was a no call no show for the other. When I pointed out they failed to give us the proper time and it was not our fault I was told by Jen that "there is nothing we can do because we have patients that actually show up for their appointments" that was the last straw. When I asked to speak to someone else about it she said she is the only one I could talk to. The customer service here is completely lacking. I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone. And just to add a little bit to that, there was another gentlemen there arguing with them as we walked in. Our visit started off great. If I could give 0 stars, I would. The dentist here are very professional and really seemed with my concerns and worked very hard to make sure I was comfortable and satisfied with everything. Over the course of a lifetime the opportunities to visit a dentist probably arise more often than any of us would really like. I'm in my sixties now, and have been to more than my share over the years. I point this out primarily so that you will know that I have a valid history of experiences against which I can measure my recent visits to Aspen Dental, and most specifically, Dr. Deitz and her entire staff, at the Owensboro, Ky. office. I have never been treated so well, on both a personal level as well as a professional level. They know what they are doing, and they do it well. I went to Aspen Dental because it was in-network for my insurance, but I wasn't expecting a whole lot. I couldn't have been more wrong. Every person I encountered from the receptionist to the dentist was friendly and helpful. They were great at getting me in as soon as they could to address my toothache and when it was decided that I would need a crown, the follow up appointment was made immediately. So while hesitant at first, I would gladly go back to Aspen Dental in Owensboro for any dental needs. read more
