though I stand by my previous rating for the Roseburg office, I must say the Eugene office picked up the dropped ball like champs... they have very good office staff and dental professionals. Worse place I have ever went to. I needed my bottom teeth pulled so I could have dentures. My top teeth had already been pulled. I was told I had to have the top made at the same time the bottom was made. I got my top denture and my temp bottom. The top never fit right. I kept going back and telling them it does not fit it is too big. Went back 7 times. Even though they say they will give you your money back they won't. They never even finished my dentures. I have had my temporary bottom for 4 years. When I had my teeth pulled they were supposed to address my under bite. If you want dentures that don't fit and people that don't care go to this place. I am going to try Artistic Denture they seem to care. We have spent thousands of dollars at Aspen and they never fixed my issues or finished their work. They should have given me a refund $10,000 for dentures that don't fit is insane. read more

Aspen Dental here in Roseburg, Oregon has a outstanding Dentist, Dr. O. However, his staff not so much. Aspen Dental had billed the insurance company for a crown replacement. I paid the required co-pay and the work proceeded. A temporary crown was placed while the permanent crown was being designed and made. I was asked to come in when completed for the fitting. I was informed at the front desk by the manager of the office that I had owed an additional $98 due to an error in billing. I replied that I had agreed to my co-pay originally and now through an error on their part I was supposedly now obligated to pay the additional money. I was kept waiting for over an hour in the dental chair as Dr. O had a patient that required quite a bit of additional time, and I understand these things happen, however they told me the charges were the result of inaccurate billing, not really caring that I was the one inconvenienced. I had even asked about having a "Veterans Discount" but do to the billing process with "Regence" if a discount could be applied, they would reduce that amount in "New billing" so any discount would be null and void. What about just acknowledging an error was made, and "Aspen Dental" will just take care of it, you know on their end of the transaction and out of "their profit" on a very expensive and profitable piece of dental work. You know its "nice to be important, but more important to be nice" I have no issue with Dr. O and by the way he is leaving Aspen Dental for his own practice in the state of Washington, no doubt he is a little upset with their practices I would assume also. I would never go back to Aspen Dental and my friends and family if I can help it, will never be referred to there by me. When you are in charge of the front office, your most important job is insuring a comfortable experience where the customer feels special and well taken care of. Just because you are in charge you shouldn't take advantage of your position just because you "can" You can learn to be kind and make an attempt to "try" to help as best you can. In this case, the amount of "$98 is trivial and should be the cost of doing business to prevent "scathing" reviews. How many potential patients will now never go to Aspen Dental, how much business will they lose because of their arrogance? read more

This office dosen't even have a dentist on staff! They switched me to an out of network dentest without telling me and so all my insureance was voided and I had to pay the full amount. They waited until I entered the office for my next appointment to tell me I had an outstanding bill and that they would not treat me untill it was resolved. I missed my appontment and have not been able to get a new one. I have talked to them many times and they have NEVER contacted me back despite assurances that the would. I have been a patient for 2.5 years and in that time I have seen 4-5 different dentists... they leave and then you can't get any work done until the next one comes. I am supposed to have work done on my partial to fix things all under 'warranty' can't do that. I stayed because I liked the staff but the two on the 'skeleton' crew, desk person and hygienist, are new and not of their caliber at all. Had my first appointment last Tuesday, given a treatment plan and told if I had any questions to call. I had questions so emailed office manager on Thursday-no response. Called on Monday and told officer manager had just stepped out so left message-no response. Called again yesterday and spoke with office manager. AVOID, But if you want to know more reasons of why please read below. I hate giving bad reviews on the company but sometimes you have no choice but to make the public aware. First let me clarify the dentists themselves are awesome. They're very knowledgeable and professional. However this company gets one star because the entire support staff seems very incompetent. I would like to exclude the receptionists. As they do a hard job having to manage a company that gets so many complaints. Why I was there getting a estimate on some work to have done. Not less than five people came in complaining. As I sat there waiting for my appointment I was shocked at the level of issues people were coming in with. But being this is my review, I also want to state not just what I observed with my own problems. First of all I made an appointment to have a specific service provided. I waited days to come in to take care of the major issue I had with one of my teeth. They assured me they would take care of it that day however I came in and after 2 1/2 hours I left without having it's completed. They seem more concerned at trying to pad my bill that addressed the issue I was there for. I would return later to have the service completed. My first appointment I got an estimate of work to be completed. After looking at it carefully I saw that their dental hygienists, who was not very knowledgeable or professional had patted the bill adding over $1200 with the services we never discussed. Not only that the dental hygienists was very condescending. And contradicted what the dentist I had previously seen there. The next visit, I go to have my initial problem addressed. And complete an estimate for further work. Against the dentist did my dental work was perfect. But again as I sat in the waiting room I heard more people coming in with major complaints. I'm not sure if this happens every day and all day long but three times I came in I observed it. So my work is completed and the dentist that day did a very good job on the service I needed. However sadly the rest the staff did not observe very good hygiene practices. I observed several times the assistance touching other items such as doorknobs, a garbage can, and other things and then place those same gloves they had in in your mouth and handling the instruments the Dentist used. I was so shocked at the moment I failed to point it out and I probably should. But this was observed prior when I was there and I just didn't take note of it until later on when I went back and thought about what I had seen. I am hoping the company sees this review and has their staff step it up on the cleanliness of the facility. Aspen is pretty new there, but the place was not very clean the floors look like they had been there for 30 years and paint was peeling on some of the walls. I just did not feel very confident being there. And I did not like the fact of them patting the bill, when I went back and reviewed my estimates and stuff for work there were things in there that had nothing to do with the work I wanted to have done. Almost 1/3 of my bill for further work to be done was not necessary and could have been avoided and some had nothing to do with the work I wanted to have done. It's not criminal if you sign the contract and agree to it but then sneaking this stuff in irritated me. The dental hygienists seem to have the most ability to pad that bill. But there are other services that are being included I never agreed, nor discussed. I want to stress, the dentists there seem professional and knowledgeable and the work they did was painless and for me and worked really well. It is the rest of the support staff that really needs a lot of help there. It's not that they're not aware of the type of work need to do the just simply are not doing their jobs very well. I will be going somewhere else for the additional work I want to have done as a simply because cannot trust a company that's not being honest, and pads a bill without ever discussing with me. read more

They gave her a permanent partial that is hideous, made of half medal AFTER she was complaining of the tooth they were using to hold to partial mainly on was hurting and loose. RIP OFF ARTISTS - do not go there ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE SELF PAY. My husband went in to have a tooth cleaning done and to have a check as he was having mild discomfort on one side. We called several dentist offices locally with no-one taking new patients or not available. Aspen dental immediately called us back and got him in. Before a cleaning they required an exam and x-rays telling my husband that he needed a crown replacement. Long and short of it - in order to get the crown they required a quadrant cleaning and while my husband was in the dentist chair made him sign the treatment plan which was complicated and not spelled out which my husband SIGNED without even looking at it because he was sitting in the dentist chair and they were working on him (electronic pads should be OUTLAWED). The quadrant cleaning, my husband was told verbally, was supposed to be around $250 when in fact it was $800+ so what started out as a TOTAL of $1,731 ended up being nearly $2,600 and we self paid. The staff was very rude to my husband when he questioned what he owed, came up with conflicting documentation on whether we owed or had a credit, etc. IT WAS AWFUL. My husband, during this two month journey, asked everytime he went in what the costs would be, what he would be responsible for, what the plan was with each time just basically getting a brush off by the rude front staff. I just got off the phone with their customer service 800 people and she was nice but clearly said "your husband signed the treatment plan" so we are out the extra $800+. Please note that the review below related specifically to the office and supporting staff, the dentist I worked with was professional and good to deal with. I tried Aspen Dental to replace a crown that had fallen off. I made the appointment, went in for a fitting for a permanent crown and received a temporary plastic crown on my tooth. While there I got a quote for the service, which I negotiated down as a 'new' patient. My follow up visit for the permanent crown was set for a couple of weeks out. Within 24 hours the temporary crown came off, along with a piece of my tooth, causing some discomfort. When I called to tell them the temporary crown had come off, that I was experiencing some discomfort as well as being concerned that the impressions they had taken would not be good due to the tooth breaking, they showed no concern for my discomfort, the loss of the temporary crown or my concern that more breakage would occur before the appointment for the permanent crown, which it did. It took another two weeks to get another appointment where the dental assistant put in a temporary metal crown. When the appointment date for my permanent crown approached, they called to reschedule. That appointment date approached, they called to reschedule. I finally went in for the permanent crown replacement after a 3rd reschedule. While there for my appointment, they wanted the full payment amount, not the negotiated amount. I reminded them of the negotiated amount and received a receipt showing that amount, which was paid in full. Since that appointment I received an invoice from the billing department, showing the initial amount due for crown replacement, not the negotiated amount. I am currently dealing with that situation and am glad I requested the receipt in writing when I paid the bill at the dental office. I called to request a refill on a mouthwash prescribed by my previous dentist. I was told they needed to see me for an examination to determine the cleaning/care schedule for my teeth and gums. This seemed reasonable to me so I scheduled the appointment. Two days before my appointment they called to confirm. The day before the appointment they called and said they would need to get x-rays done before they could proceed. Given my previous appointment issues with them I asked if they were going to have to reschedule this one too. I also reminded them that they should have received my recent x-rays from my previous dentist and that I didn't want to pay for more x-rays. They said that since I was a new patient I wouldn't need to pay for the x-rays. When I showed up to my appointment the following day, they said I was no longer a patient of theirs because of the way I had treated their staff (which had been firm but nothing more). No warning, no cancellation phone call, they just let me know when I showed up for my appointment. I said they should have called me to let me know. They said yes, they should have. No apology. If you do use them, be very careful and document everything. They can't be trusted to keep their word on costs, appointments. Their office team seems to be made up of a bunch of people that can't take a question without taking offense. The personnel, both managers and dentists are in and out of there. You won't have the same dentist for very long. Nor can you deal with the same manager for very long, it's a revolving door. It's cut-rate dentistry, incompetency, no follow thru, improper billing practices. Ask yourself if it's worth the hassle. read more

Very sorry i went there in the first place. My last appointment was scheduled for 2:30 p. The receptionist was happy to take my money but did not tell me the were running about an hour behind. I wasn't called to the back until after an hour of waiting. They took xrays which I felt was not necessary since my problem was a tooth had broken off my bridge. At 3:50, after sitting in the exam chair for 20 minutes I asked the tech if she could take my bib off. She said do you have to use the rest room, I said my appointment was for 2:30 and she should have the staff give me a call when they felt they could fit me in. The receptionist should have told the patients they were running behind by about an hour and offered the the choice of rescheduling or waiting it out. I was very unhappy with this office. They mounted up the bills and put off pulling my broken crow which snapped off at the gum line. They wouldn't start working on the problem til I had $2000 worth of perdiodontal treatment and my mouth hurt. They were charging so much more than the new dentist I'm going to. I'm able to get an implant for the cost that Aspen wanted to charge for a bridge. People in the reception area were complaining about about all the charges. I live off social security and $10000 is totally out of my price range. They don't care. read more

Four bad experiences, and I still wasn't able to get them to look at my teeth. When I first scheduled an appointment it said it would be in three days, but it turned out to be a week when I looked at the receipt! I then arranged to have off work for the day of the appointment, but then they had to reschedule. I arranged to have off work for the second appointment. Then I got a text confirmation for a completely different day and time,they had rescheduled my appointment a second time without consulting with me! It was for a time I had to work, so I couldn't make it and they kept saying I had changed it. I rescheduled again, and again I was contacted that they needed to reschedule. This final time I did not reschedule because they obviously have no integrity and do not care about their patients/clients. Looking at the reviews of the company online, I understand why they have a class action lawsuit against them. I want a dentist I can trust and rely on. read more

Aspen Dental did not treat me as I would expect to be treated. They prepared an estimate for me. Just to "deep clean" 1/2 of my teeth they were going to charge me over $1,200. They informed me that my insurance would pay $800 of the bill. This made the work affordable. Aspen Dental received an estimate from my insurance company. What Aspen Dental failed to tell me is that there is a 12-month waiting period for the services they were about to render. Most dentists would have told me that I wasn't covered yet...not Aspen Dental. They did the work anyway. When I received my bill it was for the full $1,200 not the $400 to $500 I was expecting. After receiving my bill, I called around to other dentists. I had chemo therapy that damaged my front teeth. Went to aspen dental in Roseburg oregon and was told they could fix them. There was so much filling put on that the teeth were t smooth, u could look at them and see the poor workmanship. After about a month they were severely discolored and chilling off. I called and made an other appt which they cancelled as well as the next two appts. I asked for my $400 co pay to be refunded, they said they would call me back, been 2 months, no call. I showed up for my appointment and the receptionist said, we left you a message, your hygenist called in sick. I let her know, not only was no message left, but there was no missed call on my phone. At this time, I verified they had the correct number. It was correct. I expected an apology, just someone to say, we are sorry or sorry for the inconvenience. Nothing. The office manager was sitting next to her putting stickers on charts, he didn't bother to look up or say anything​. All that was said, we can give you an appointment for later this month. Still no one being professional. I took the appointment card expecting something out of her mouth like, have a nice day or even bye...not a word. This office is rude and the most unfriendly dental office I have been to, in 37 years. I would find another place that treats people with respect and is courteous. First of all I do want to say I have no problem with the staff at Aspen in Roseburg. But the company itself is awful! I was a patient for a few years and continually had poor experiences with billing. Multiple times I paid for services, in full, only to get a bill in the mail claiming I still owed them money. I was always able to get it cleared up, but it should not continually happen. In 2014 (3 years ago) I had a crown put in. It cost somewhere between $700-$800 out of pocket. On my first appointment to have it put in I paid for it up front. The crown itself was then accidentally dropped down my throat and I ended up swallowing it. I was rescheduled to come back in two weeks later. I also had the receptionist person put a note in my file that I had already paid for the crown and that I would not be charged again. Two weeks later I show up and sign in. After 30 minutes of sitting in the lobby the receptionist asked me what service I was waiting for. I let him know and then he informed me that they didn't even have the crown yet. So I had to get rescheduled again. When I finally did get the crown put in do you want to guess what happened.....YEP!!!! They tried to bill me for the crown again. I had to tell them to open up my file so they could see the note that was put in. I remained a patient for a short period of time after that but the last straw for me was when I was scheduled for a Gretchen cleaning. I showed up on time. They were about 20 minutes late in getting me back there and then only did half the service because they had another patient with an appointment. They wanted me to come back in for the other half to get finished but I never went back. So now I've had my crown fall out after three years. I went into my current dentist to see if they could put it back in but the crown wasn't in good enough shape. They let me know that almost everyone will replace a crown within 5 years. I went to Aspen to see if they would fix it, but of course they don't cover their work. So now I get to pay for a whole new crown. Bottom line.....DON'T GO TO ASPEN!!!!! read more

I would not recommend this place to anyone. Customer service is out the window. I was a cash paying customer. I spoke to some one on the phone and they said they would do a fee exam then pull the tooth out for 137.00 same day. Made the appt only to find out they lied to me on the phone the lady behind the counter told me we will do the exam and you'll have to come back in 2-3 days to get the tooth pulled. I advised I was told they would pull the tooth today. She snapped at me and said I can pull the phone conversation . I said please do. She left and came back and said the dentist said he won't pull it today. I said where is the phone conversation you were going to check on. Oh God, I wish I had looked at their reviews first. I broke my upper plate and needed repair. I was told on the phone that a repair would run between 79.00 and 150.00. Made same day appointment for repair. When I got to office, was taken directly to x-ray ??? I didn't want x-rays. Told they were no extra cost, OK ?? They took my broken plate and the dentist came in to give exam. ?? I didn't ask for an exam. ?? After an 30 minutes of this and trying to sell me treatment for mouth cancer and taking an impression for a new plate(that I didn't ask for), finally the denturist let me know it would cost 211.00 to repair the denture but I would be guaranteed to be happy with repair. So I was wisked into the managers office to pay the bill BEFORE they would start the repair. About an hour later, here comes a repaired denture with no liner left in it on one side and when I went to put it in, it fit horrible. The dentist came in and tried to grind down the plate on the one side so I could actually get the denture in. He told me also that if the liner needed to be replaced, they would make it right. Went home over the weekend, it got much worse. I called them on Monday and was told that all they could do for me was make me a new 399.00 denture. FAT CHANCE FOLKS Beware going here, these people are only interested in lightening your pocketbook and don't care if you are happy with the service. read more

And their dental "payment plan" is a credit card, but they don't tell you that and they don't give you any information on it. Do NOT go there, the quality of their work is awful. My fillings (2) fell out after only four months they said they would fix for free. When I got there they told me it is not for free, there is an "Inspection Fee" I walked out after a heated discussion with the receptionist. The person that cleaned my teeth the first time did a lousy job, I could still feel the bumps between my teeth, she took about seven minutes to complete this. Horrible place with zero ethics especially from Dr McGee. He talked me into an implant that he said he designed and it cost me $3200 for one toot which has come out multiple times. I followed all the rules for healing and the post that goes into your bone healed fine but the tooth he implanted gets loose immediately and has broken and fell out while I was sleeping. Wow, where to start with Aspen Dental. First thing I will say is "just don't go!" Absolutely terrible, just a scam. I went in with a cracked tooth, cancelled another Dentist because Aspen scheduled me sooner, being in pain I thought it would be best to get in any place sooner. Big mistake, I would have rather have suffered the pain then go to this place. The Dentist seemed real nice and professional but said I couldn't have the tooth worked on that day. Not what I was told on the phone before I cancelled the other place. Then the hygienist came in, not what I wanted to have done that day, spent close to an hour poking my gums, I have always had pretty good, strong teeth. She the told me that I had horrible bacteria and I was about to lose my teeth. Then after having several people tell me BS, I was escorted to the financial office where the hard sell really took on. I was given a plan for almost 6k.............wow!!!! The extraction I needed was almost 3 times what I was quoted from other places. I was able to get into the other place and have the tooth extracted right away. No other BS. Asked about my gums/bacteria/losing my teeth. All not true, yes I need to floss more/better, that was it. Went in for a simple procedure and was almost hooked for a 6k program. They tried the scare tactic and almost hooked me. Luckily I realized what was happening, took my credit card back and bolted from this place. Complete and Utter BS! Be careful of this place. I also told several friends about my experience and they told me "yea, they have that reputation" and if I had told them before I went, they would have advised me not to go. I went in to have a painful tooth looked at and was put through a battery of exrays (which is hard for me because l have a small mouth and my gag reflex was in overdrive), then l had to be seen by the hygenist (no clue why?) and then finally by the dentist. By the time l got out of there an hour and a half later l was given a whole list of things they wanted to do to the tune of over 4 grand and they couldn't do anything about my tooth that was hurting and refered me to another dentist. Lastly since l was a new patient had to be there 15 minutes early to feel out forms that took about 5 minutes and wasn't seen until half hour after my appt. time. Will not be going back. Waited three weeks for an appointment which was fine. I had a chipped filling that was starting to bother me and I was a new patient so I was willing to wait. Received text the day before the appointment to confirm the appointment which was fine. Showed up 15 minutes early and was informed that they were not taking new patients. I showed them the confirmation text they sent me 24 hours earlier and they said I should have received a phone call to reschedule. I told them I did not. F them. Can't speak to the skills of the dentist but if they are on par with the office management then I definitely do not recommend. read more

I went in on Monday with a good amount of tooth pain. Everyone in the building was very hospitable and made it a great experience. Poor experience with the Office Mgr Nathaniel. He makes promises and does not keep them for call backs. He messed up my cleaning appointment with my son's and I did not get a full cleaning, they ran out of time. He was suppose to contact my previous DDS in CA for records, which he did not and then tried to tell me it was my responsibility even though I signed the release form, which they later could not locate. After complaining to their district or regional manager, someone else in the office took care of it. On a later visit, I advised him my previous DDS refunded for a crown and they needed to look into refunding my prepayment for a crown that the insurance was not going to cover, now that it was to be refunded they should cover it. Again he did not call me like promised. When I asked why not, he tried to throw it back at me again and say it's my responsibility to take care of the insurance, what the heck?? I will continue for now as I liked the DDS and rest of the office staff. If they don't do something about him, I will have to locate another DDS when my current work is complete. I hate being in the dental chair! Dr. Randol and Dr. Ho are very compassionate with dental phobia! Dr. Ho and her assistant Brandy did a great job on my filling. No pain with the injection or while doing the filling. They make a great team! read more

This dental clinic quite possibly is the worst I have ever experienced, and I've been a patient at several over the course of many years, both in California and Oregon. The staff -- those at the reception desk and the dental staff -- are highly unprofessional and appear to be poorly trained. Their business practices are laughable. I had never experienced anything like it in my life until I became a patient at this office for a short period of time. Their focus is on extracting as much money as possible from a patient; never mind trying to perform excellent dental care. I was a patient here before moving to Eugene, and my dentist here, who is excellent, has told me that many of her patients who reside in Roseburg travel to Eugene just to be seen by her. She has heard many complaints from some of them about the poor care they received at Aspen Dental in Roseburg. This office is a disgrace on many levels. read more

I'm very disappointed & frustrated! I already have a dental plan. I haven't had the money to do all the work at once. Now I have to start over. The biggest part is that they changed what my appointment was for without notifying me. read more
