Waste of money and time for the past 2 years. Was told to seek another dentist. Very frustrating

I had a 10 am appointment and they let me come an hour early. With no insurance I only paid $30 for X-rays and a treatment plan. The office was clean and the secretary's behind the desk were friendly. Alonna did my X-rays professionally and pain free. Dr Lakhani was exceptionally professional. He listened, spoke knowledgeable , and was patient. I never felt like he was trying to sell me more than I wanted. He explained what work I needed done and why I needed it- with pictures. At the end of my appointment I went through all my financial options for my treatment plan with Alanis. She was knowledgeable, patient and went above and beyond working with me and breaking down the total price of everything I wanted done and discounts that may be applicable PLUS helpful info on what insurance may or may not cover. I can't speak on the past 5 months or year, but heres what I can say after my first visit 9/24/25 The staff here care. They are knowledgeable, professional, patient, and the atmosphere is relaxed. I made an on-line appointment for an emergency for a Saturday morning. Appointment was made for 8:45. I received a call that this had to be changed to 11:00. As I was arriving for my rescheduled appointment and Aspen had to cancel my appointment. Their excuse was that I didn't make the appointment with the office and that they have 3 others waiting for over an hour. The part that really concerned me is that the gad to wait for their instruments to be cleaned. WHAT? Does this mean that they don't have adequate supplies or equipment? Found a nicer dental practice to go to from now on. read more

Requested a copy of medical files in April and this office ignored multiple requests. Called the office and was told to come in to pick up the records. After arriving at the office, was told that they no longer in office requests. Then the staff became irate and yelling. They said they can't release the records because of HIPAA. Asked how this is applicable if the patient is requesting the file. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rule requires health care providers to release medical records within 30 days of receiving a request. There is no excuse for a patient having to wait 120+ days. This office is in clear violation of federal statutes. In addition, the office staff was very antagonistic and disrespectful. Stay away from this office unless you want to be disrespected and screamed at. read more

Unfortunately I cannot leave a ZERO star review. This office is HORRIBLE!! After I scheduled an appointment and they cancelled, I was forced to reschedule. I sat for over 45 minutes listening to front staff being rude and disrespectful. When they finally spoke to me, they informed me they had not run my insurance and I would have to continue to wait. The person on the phone then turned around with an atrocious attitude and stated " We're short staffed and you did get here early". I arrived at the suggested 15 minutes prior to appointment time and provided them everything they asked for. She proceeded to speak in such a disrespectful manner I was unable to maintain composure. NO ONE who has direct contract with the public should be allowed to interact the way this person did. I would discourage anyone I know away from this office. read more

Worst Dental Office I had dealt in my life. After a year they still billing my daughter because they never submitted a claim through her insurance. Every time I call the office to resolve the issue they never answer, the customer service number they hung up on me. I just made a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, the insurance company and the state business bureau. Enough is enough. AVOID this place at all costs!!!!!! Confused and hurt. False advertising of free exam and x-Rey's. Long waiting for the doctor.Pushing unnecessary procedure. Extremely expensive. My front tooth was hurting. I saw their ad on tv about free exam and free X-rays for the new customers in May. I decided to make an appointment for them to check it out.I booked the appointment on line right fro the page saying that new customers will have the exam and x rays free. Next day before the appointment I received a call saying that I needed to reschedule it .After more than 3 hours waiting for the x-ray machine and the doctor the solution was to pull all my front teeth out and replace them with the dentures.With 2 weeks before my wedding I was not sure I wanted to do so.The estimate was over $5,000. absolutely horribble. i went and paid out of pocket over $200 and was only prescribed ibu 600 when i had told them i was taking way more then that because of how much pain i was in. however to top it off Dr. Patel saw that my tooth was infected and she neglected to give me any antibiotics untill i asked for them!! im a=not a dentist but im pretty sure that if a dentist can clearly see that a broken tooth in my mouth is infected it is their job to give me something for the infection! read more

I would have given them a zero if I could. Had an 11 o'clock appointment took forever just to get called in for my initial xrays. Xray tech kept trying to have me bite down fully when I told her I couldn't and it was hurting. Then was taken into the exam room where i had to wait an hour before the dentist came in and said I needed a deep cleaning and try to sell me on it before even examining my mouth. The dentist try to get me to take a crowns when all i needed was to replace the 3 fillings that came out. They have predatory treatment plans they try and sell you on but said they needed to contact me because they couldn't reach my insurance company. Do yourself a favor and run to a real dental office. read more

I would give them 0 stars if I could! They do extremely poor work and do not correct the problems, selling more expensive services than you need, fraudulent billing practices. Attempted to work with customer service 9 times to no avail so finally had to get the CT Attorney generals office involved. And I had to go to another dentist to correct the shoddy work they did! File with the AG because they've had multiple other states file and win lawsuits! I don't know how they manage to stay in business! read more

I would like to leave no stars if I could. I've been to a lot of dentists in my life, but this is the scariest, money hungry establishment I've ever been to. They actually have a "financial adviser" that you sit down with after the initial x-rays and dentist / hygienist exam. I have OK teeth - some need fillings, granted, but the figure they've quoted me made me gag - $17,000!!!! I should have walked out right there and then, but hygienist made up a story that I have severe case of periodontitis and all my teeth will fall out unless something is done. Cost for this - $800, and I have dental insurance! I thought that it's some kind of special procedure, but it was just normal cleaning with a $40 mouthwash and a $40 fluoride toothpaste thrown in. This should have been free with my insurance! After this, I've taken my x-rays and ran! read more

I went to aspen dental I needed a full mouth extraction they told me they offer financing, but that wasn't true. It was a CareCredit card with ridiculous interest . Still, I wanted to get it done so I scheduled it. They did the full mouth extraction all at once, which I was glad I went to other places and they wanted to do it. In different intervals. I paid for temporary dentures, which I never wore because they were uncomfortable and never fit. I went back a few times they fitted me with my permanent dentures, but I was getting all on for implants. I asked why aren't we doing the implants? They said they needed my mouth to get used to the dentures. That wasn't true they want all the money upfront before they finish the procedure. Since the interest was so ridiculous on the CareCredit, I found someone to loan me the money for the rest of the procedure $17,000. I had to wait for the check to clear in my account I guess because of the amount instead of the normal three days it was going to take seven days so I called the office to reschedule my appointment. The office manager Calen would not stop calling me. He asked why I didn't come to the appointment. I told him I rescheduled it with one of the office personnel. He told me that he was the only one in the office. As if I was lying, how do these people not communicate with each other? it's obvious that all they care about is the money I'm already invested $14,000 so I have to go through with the rest. Kaylan, the office manager acted like my best friend until he realized that I was onto him. I would not recommend going to this place ever. read more

I called Aspen in Waterbury on Monday for an appointment to have my new partial adjusted. I received it Wednesday afternoon. Started having discomfort and scraping of skin off the inside of my mouth. Receptionist said they had no appointments this week. I asked her about an emergency appointment and was told there are none. My daughter had a bad experience with a dentist in the past and we were hoping to find one that worked well for her and decided on Aspen Dental in Waterbury. Initially, we made an appointment online for a cleaning and they called us two hours before our appointment time and said nothing other than "we need to reschedule." We figured there must of been a family emergency or something along those lines so we rescheduled for later that week at 3:00 and then we were told that our appointment was double booked. My daughter called them back and asked why her appointment was double booked and they said that online appointments don't reserve your spot. We decided to just find somewhere else when my daughter got a call at 1:45 saying that I called the office and rescheduled for 2:00! I don't even get out of work until 3:00 and my daughter doesn't get out of school until 2:15, so I'm not sure where they got that from. They also told my daughter that if I didn't call that someone claiming to be her mother called and said her name. I'm grateful the appointments didn't work out because they do not know how to run their office. Completely unprofessional and have no idea on how to do their job. read more

TERRIBLE. I went here one time as I needed a new dentist since I moved, I so wish I'd looked at these reviews first. I just figured as big of a company as they are, they couldn't be that bad? WRONG. First of all, I was taken back before seeing a hygienist or dentist to have Xrays done. They did a full series, which my dental insurance did NOT cover as I had these recently. I literally wasn't even informed what they were doing, they just kept repositioning me. Even worse, the tech doing the xrays didn't follow BASIC hygiene/precautions. The fact that I had to call her out to change her gloves/stop touching other random things and then touching the sterile equipment to try and put them in my mouth was DISGUSTING. I was then told I need multiple fillings as well as wisdom teeth removed....I am quite confident I did not suddenly develop multiple cavities in 6 months, and will be very curious to see what my new dentist says at my next appt. They billed things wrong so I had to fight w/ them and my insurance, and still ended up on the hook for the xrays despite the fact that there was no need for them to have been done and had I seen ANYONE first who had actually looked at my past xrays, this would have been avoided. read more

I don't know why I went back to this place more than once. Today I had an appointment for 9am and was not seen until 9:30. I was not offered an explanation or apology until I inquired if I had shown up at the wrong time. On a separate occasion I had to leave and reschedule an appointment because the wait time was so long. The billing system seems very shady. Aspen dental is a horrible place to go . There is always something to pay even if the last time you check all copays were paid. You could pay for every visit and still owe them over 100 dollars. I am never going back and they do more damage then good. For starters i never had any problems with my teeth and then they did fillers now my teeth hurt when i eat something cold or hot. So my daughter was looking for a dentist because she was having problems with her wisdom teeth. So she decided to go to Aspen Dental in Waterbury ,Ct to have her tooth pullled. When her tooth was pulled and she was all done she then had to see the girl in billing. The girl told her how much it was going to cost and my daughter did not have that kind of money upfront. Besides she had dental insurance. The girl told her she would only have to pay a small amount and her insurance would pay the rest. Well they didn't and her claim was denied because it was suppose to go through her medical insurance first. They never told her this. By the way procedure was done back in January 2020. She was never sent a bill telling her the claim was denied. She didn't receive a bill from Aspen Dental until June telling her she needed to pay the bill that was owed. They don't send claims to medical insurances. It is up to patient to do that. In the beginning she was offered a care credit card to help pay expenses. When she tried to pay her balance that she owed with this credit card they told her she couldn't use it because it was a pasted due bill. Also because she didn't pay it they sent her to a collection agency to get their money. Will never go back to them again and will not recommend them to anyone. They are a horrible dental office. Also girls in that office are very snotty. Not pleasant at all. Will Not be going back there anytime soon. read more

Very negative experience. I had a filling done, but was still in pain a week later. I went to a new dentist who took an x-ray of it and showed me there was still decay under the new filling, so now I need to have it redone. In addition my dentist said the x-rays done at Aspen were done poorly. read more

I woke up with a random broken today so I was ecstatic that I was able to book an appointment at this location on short notice. I filled out my patient history and insurance information online around 10 AM. My apt was at 6 pm. I got to the appt around 5:30, they informed me at 5:50 that my insurance's office closed at 4:30 and therefore they could not verify my benefits so they wouldn't be able to tell me what they would cover and i would have to pay for whatever i got done until after they could verify my benefits, so it was offered to me to re-schedule. Or pay and then get reimbursed. I find this unacceptable, unprofessional and incompetent. I indicated having a broken tooth at the time I made the appointment so I would imagine they would verify benefits prior to my visit. If this was a cleaning or just a random check up I would have understood but I clearly wrote BROKEN TOOTH which is kind of a big deal. Did not even apologize for the inconvenience.
