I recently broke my toe and was only given crutches when I left the hospital. As I've never broken…read moremy toe/foot/leg before, I didn't really know that I might need something else that would make it easier for me to get around. After spending many, many, MANY hours on the couch, I decided I needed something better. I had heard about air casts, which is like a walking brace to put over the foot without putting any weight on my toe. I called around to a few places and Healthcare & Rehab had them for significantly cheaper than the others I called. $145 for a short boot compared to $165. I went in and told the lady working that I needed an air cast. She asked my shoe size and went to the back and got the correct boot. She put it on my foot for me and explained how to pump the air into it and to deflate it at night. We made a little bit of chit chat at the counter when I was paying and she told me to get better soon, etc. I didn't look around at any of the other products, but the store was fairly big and there was lots of stuff, and it seemed neat and organized.

SO glad I made it here to get the caster I needed to keep our almost 20 year old IKEA coffee…read moretable!! Yes, this is why I needed to come here...I went all the way to the Southside to IKEA thinking (SO SILLY me) that it would have the caster for the table we own...yeah, no...the casters now are different on their furniture so that trip was wasted (and I wasn't about to buy another coffee table). Caster Town was my "shot in the dark" spot and after having been here for all of 15 minutes (thanks to a lovely and pleasant gentleman [Duane] who presides over this interesting place), I recommend ALL who need a caster replaced to come here! Bring in the one you are replacing and they will help you by having it or by recommending where you may be able to find it :-)

Sometimes i do have to wait a week or two on my special orders but they always get what i need. Just a note that i recognise the above poster as an ex employee.

We were in need of post surgery aids so we came to Congdon's. We were impressed with their large…read moreselection of aids and well being items like pre / post surgery soap, lotion and cream, wound care and dressing, sports medicine - anything you can think of. The store is large, one level wheelchair accessible. There were five staff that I could see assisting folks. The woman that assisted us was professional, discreet, and knowledgeable. She was certified in fitting aids. I'm happy we stopped in today.

Some of the staff at the desk are not very friendly and nice.
