A 2 star rating is generous. A1c was mildly high 5.8. I changed my diet, lost 21 lbs and requested more blood tests to see if my numbers had improved. The practice didn't even call in an A1c test the 2nd time- just lipids. Also the PA recommended a booster for MMR and did not enter the correct code for my tests resulting in a $395 bill which insurance did not cover and the practice did not respond to my call as to why the wrote the incorrect code for the insurance. This practice has no interest in its patients. It is sloppy and no one I have ever spoken to has even modest active listening skills. The front desk is unfriendly. I've had the unfortunate experience of trying to use Aspen as a PCP for a few years now. I'd give my Dr. Vrabec a C- and the practice an F. These people are ZERO VALUE ADDED - unless you count aggravation as a plus. The top priority of this practice is covering their ass -- all at the expense of patient well-being. There is no excuse for them. Here are just a few examples: 1. When I phoned in from out of town with a tick bite (and photos to prove the bulls-eye pattern), an MA said they'd never provide a prescription for the standard 1-day doxycycline protocol without seeing me personally. My Denver dermatologist helped me out - but the delay caused me to have to be on antibiotics for a month, which made a huge mess for me to clean up. 2. The practice can't competently return phone calls: No matter what number I supply for a call-back, the MAs insist on returning a call to an unmanned land-line answering machine. 3. They can't even manage to issue correct prescriptions for maintenance medications. I have been taking thyroid supplements for over 30 years. The drill is: we do blood tests, which show a steady situation - after which the provider is supposed to issue a year-long prescription for the meds. This year, my labs were completed September 19. By mid-October, Aspen hadn't bothered to issue a new prescription. I had to call them to make that happen - but when I checked with my pharmacy, I discovered that Aspen got it wrong: whoever phonedx the script in didn't even get it that I took 2 daily doses and not one. When I called to complain and ask for a correct prescription, the MA claimed that "We already called in the prescription". When I observed that what the pharmacy had was for only 6 months, the MA made the entirely false statement that "this office never gives prescriptions for a whole year." Of course, Dr. Vrabec has been issuing year-long prescriptions for my maintenance medication. But the MAs don't know this. They are useless. I'd get better help from ChatGPT - not even from the current version, mind you -- but from the Beta from a few years ago.... 4. The last straw with these negligent morons was their response to a bone density test. I am 68 years old. A bone density test showed substantial bone loss in 4 areas over a 3-year period. It also showed a 33% (from baseline) reduction in bone mass in one area - to a point that the result was "abnormal". To any rational person, this would indicate an evaluation of lifestyle factors to reverse course. But Aspen is not rational. To the contrary, they are lazy, incompetent and irresponsible. I had my initial visit with Dr. Bowers yesterday, and I couldn't have been more impressed. She is professional, courteous, attentive, and a great listener. She spent the time to get to know me, and understand the healthcare issues that I am dealing with. She suggested an approach to treating my high blood pressure that involves evaluating my current cardiac health that makes perfect sense to me. None of my prior primary care doctors suggested anything like that, and it made me feel lucky that she is my doctor. In addition, Her front office staff were very friendly and efficient. Beware of surprise billing. I'm a former patient at the Central Park office. Went in for my yearly physical last year, which would normally be covered at 100% by my insurance. I was surprised when I received a bill for an out-of-pocket expense. Apparently, when the doctor asks how you're feeling/how you're doing you have to be really careful how you answer because it could trigger a billing code somehow outside of your wellness visit. I tried on two different occasions to discuss with the office directly and both times I was told that their billing code was correct and they were unwilling to change it. Never mind the fact that it was not explained to me upfront that such a thing could happen during a well visit. Apparently, they would rather lose a patient and get a bad review than make the correction. I guess during an annual "well visit" they don't expect you to have any problems so you should probably stay quiet and answer the questions yes or no. I have since fired this practice and despite having been sent to collections, will not pay one cent of this bill. This is clearly a money grab and unethical at best. I had a truly awful experience attempting to establish myself as a new patient at Aspen One. In February 2025, I booked what I thought was a new patient visit and physical for May 2025. A couple weeks before the appointment, I got a voicemail indicating that I could not do both a new patient patient visit and physcial on the same day. I called back and spoke to someone else who told me it was usually possible to do both but that they would book me a second physical appointment for later in May just in case. Unfortunately, on the day of my first scheduled appointment, I had stomach flu and a fever. I called the office to ask for guidance and was told that I should not come in with a fever but could come in for my new patient visit on the later date in May. The next day, I received a call from a different person at Aspen One saying that the later appointment could not be used to establish a new patient and that the next possible time for me to see someone as a new patient was in September. What a waste of 3 months attempting to get basic medical care. read more

same thing happens every time I come here. they have me waiting for 40+ minutes just examine me for like 7 minutes. I had to keep adding time to my parking space because they kept taking so long to get to me. my appointment was at 10am, I even arrived by 9:50 and they still didn't get to me until 10:20 and then had me waiting until 10:50 to get talked to then I had to wait againnnnn. Should've only taken like 45 minutes but ended up taking literally 2 hours!!!!! I didn't leave until 12pm ???? Also they don't even take the time to give you an actual referral when you need one. TLDR: wonderful MDs, terrible care coordination. ***DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ANTICIPATE NEEDING TO FREQUENTLY COORDINATE INFO/CARE WITH ASPEN AND OTHER PROVIDERS (like medication management)*** If you just need a PCP and don't have higher needs, this is a great option because a lot can be done online, but seriously if you need care coordination STEER CLEAR. They will not will not lift a finger to help you with coordination and the front desk doesn't seem to be capable of giving consistent answers to important questions. Dr Vrabec is one of the best and most supportive providers I've ever had but I cannot keep suffering through horrible communication and constantly disappointing service from the front desk staff. read more

I was trying to get on as a new patient with Aspen Medical Geoup. I scheduled my apt in August and their first available apt was December 23, 2022. Today is October 19th. I called (was on hold for 15+ minutes) to reschedule since we've decided to go out town for the holiday. When I called, the receptionist told me their next availability was not until February, which was not ideal but fine. She then said since I already used my one cancellations, if I cancelled again I would not be allowed as a patient. This is beyond frustrating and ridiculous. I am a mother of twin toddlers and one being special needs. How is one to predict what 4 months from now looks like?!? Will I be sick?! Will my son be impatient at Children's hospital?!? Who knows?! I told the woman I do not want to be part of a practice that treats their patients with such little respect to their schedules to remove me from their system. read more

Really surprised at the negativity. I've had nothing but GREAT consults w/Dr. Bowers. She's always been highly attentive, I never feel rushed or dismissed. She knows my history and asks all the follow up questions from our last appointment. And the ladies at the front desk have always nice. Like SUPER nice and accommodating. I have no complaints or criticisms of anyone who deals with patients at Aspen Medical. However, the office management (particularly the phone situation) needs a thorough evaluation and those in charge need to be replaced. Several years ago patients were forced to wait up to 40 minutes for someone to answer the call. Today several years later I had the same experience. I waited 25 minutes for someone to answer my call. If this is a facility that is concerned about patient care, it is difficult to see how that care is shown. It is faster for me to drive to the office than to call the office. But what is even faster is to eliminate this practice altogether. Look at the low total reviews that are given to this office and avoid this practice at all costs. I am sick and tired of hearing "I'm sorry." What difference does that make when nothing ever changes? Being sorry does not cause management to make any changes. The people who answer the phones are not responsible for the incompetence of the management. This is truly a place to avoid when a patient could do so much better elsewhere. read more

I went to my primary care doc seeking mental health help. Was told the social worker would reach out. We connected, she said she would send a list of potential resources. A week went by. Left messages that nothing received. Called the front desk. Was harshly informed that SW's notes indicated she had sent twice. Gaslighted me, trying to make me believe I had missed emails. Finally SW calls, acknowledges sending to wrong email. Sends list. None have appointments available. Lists are totally blind, no warm handoff/referral by doc. No wonder the country is in crisis. They are all about billing and not helping the patient. I went in as a new patient back in October 2017 wanting to establish a relationship for myself and family. I went in for a Insurance covered wellness visit, during that time on my medical form indicated I was suffering from "an issue". During my wellness visit the Dr asked about it and prescribed me medication. A month after I was seen, I received a bill showing charges for 2 appointments, one for a wellness exam (covered by insurance) and then an additional office visit with no explanation of the additional charge (completely unexpected!). I called numerous times over the course of 3 months requesting information on why an additional office visit was charged. I never received a call back. I finally recently received an explanation, which was that I discussed an issue outside of scope on the wellness. I was furious, they never said anything about it and it was on the very forms I had to fill out for the wellness visit. When trying to rectify this I was faced with drones, staff and and office manager who have little to no ability to credit anything or think for themselves in terms of billing. Health is a very human experience and as patients we are very vulnerable. I hope they learn to treat it as such and not just how much they can bill a single visit. read more

Doctors gaslight me about common side effects telling me "that doesn't happen" when the side effect is literally on the prescription. Fat shamed and told to skip meals at my first visit post soul crushing pandemic, yet they didn't even ask about WHAT I eat or encourage exercise. My concerns are dismissed despite chronic infections. The office manager is incredibly demeaning and rude- it's been uncomfortable to watch her treat seniors with such disrespect for asking questions. Made an appointment in August for an annual physical in October. The office cancelled the appointment the day before my physical, because of an office emergency. The office never reached out to me after that to reschedule my physical, I was only able to reschedule online because I checked online everyday for an opening. Otherwise it was another 3 month wait. Also be aware if you are trying to call the office, no one answers the phone or you get a recording stating that you called outside of business hours, even if it's 9:00 in the morning. After filling out a survey complaining about not being able to schedule a physical for 3 months, Tara from Aspen Medical group emailed me and informed me that all the doctors had availability within 2 months, in essence telling me that I was exaggerating. I took a screenshot of the next available online appointments and sent it to her. In the screenshot it showed that the doctors were booked out at least 3 months. Does not want to talk over the phone and when you speak to her assistant ( when the get back to you between 24-48 hours) you get unclear answers or no answers at all. They obviously don't care. In search of a PCP, scheduled an appointment online. Never heard from them to confirm. Requested they email me to communicate as I am a night shift nurse and sleep during the day meaning I am not awake during their open hours on work days. Again never got an email. Then I contacted them to schedule a new appointment assuming I never had the other confirmed. And they did not pick up after several phone calls and an email. Then I got a voicemail from a Tara today stating they were canceling my appointment because I didn't show up and they have a policy where a new patient can't be seen if they don't show up for their first appointment. As a healthcare professional, I have never heard of such a ridiculous policy and not once in the message did she offer me a chance to explain or even display a shred of remorse over the severe inconvenience in my life and schedule. I now understand their low rating and firmly believe it's far too generous. Would NOT recommend. read more

Like all the other negative reviews, my refill for my non-narcotic prescription was denied. I've been trying to reach a doctor but literary very time I call I reach a recording stating my call is outside of normal business hours when in fact it's not. Every time I have called I have called within their stated business hours. I've never had issues before with this office but based on the recent reviews there appears to be a pattern. I live far from both offices but have remained a patient here because I rarely need to see the doctor and I felt it was a knowledgeable practice. I've only seen her once, even though I schedule appts with her. Thank God for Kendrick-he is very understanding & compassionate. Susan the Nurse practitioner is professional, thorough and kind. She is the reason this place even gets one star. However, Dr. Moore is arrogant, condescending and paternalistic and I would never get into a room with her again. The office staff is also not reliable. I will echo an earlier review in that I have waited for return calls for unacceptable amounts of time; they even tell you straight up on the voicemail that it will take 3 days for an RX renewal, for example. More specifically though, I am still in the process of waiting for an assistant to return my call with results from a blood test. I'm going on week three at this point. Hopefully I don't have a heart attack in the meantime as I don't know yet if I'm at high risk from my LDL cholesterol level. I should note that one woman did return my call once, but failed to leave the details on my voicemail- and I have a signed form of consent allowing them to leave messages with medical information on this number. additionally, even after changing my information with the office staff TWICE, my wife continued to receive phone call reminders when I had an appointment. This clinic used to be so great. I've been going here for 13 years. Since my provider left this practice along with a couple others in the last year. I'm not sure what has changed. But the current doctors are very unresponsive. And will barely help you get prescriptions filled or return calls if you have questions. read more

I just can't take it anymore. I've tried so hard to be patient with this office because for a few years, it was great. For the last year however, it's beyond a mess. The vast majority of calls to this office result in a recording and a wait anywhere from 5 minutes to 40 minutes. Trying to get a refill of a prescription is impossible. It involves a minimum of 3 calls to the office, a wasted trip to the pharmacy, and hopeful but fruitless calls to the pharmacy. The pharmacy is frustrated, Aspen continues to tell me that they'll call in my Rx, but nothing ever happens. I really need this drug to function well. But Aspen just cannot get this figured out. I never imagined that a doctor's office could be so unprofessional, inept, and disorganized. And I am the one to suffer for their incompetence. It's been 5 days and they still haven't managed to call in my prescription refill! I called the pharmacy to have them request a refill (as instructed on their outgoing message). Nothing. So 2 days later I call the office again at 9am and spoke to a human who ensured me it would be completed that day. I called the pharmacy at 4 and they still had not received the refill. So I called the office again, spoke to a human again who said she would again request the dr call it in. Nothing. Again, now 3 days after my original request, I called the office first thing in the morning and was assured it would be done that day. Nothing. Called again that day at 4 asking her to just be honest and tell me if she thought it would be called in by end of business since it was a Friday and by now I'm getting pretty desperate for my meds. And guess what? Nothing!! Not sure who is to blame for this incompetence, but it's absolutely unprofessionally and inexcusable! I'll be driving the 1 1/2 hours in on Monday morning and I am not leaving without my refill!! And all my records, I will never go back. STAY AWAY!! read more

It took me a while to find a doctor's office that I was actually comfortable with when I moved out on my own and got my own insurance. I went through about five different offices before finding this one, and I love it. The furniture is suuuuper comfy in the waiting room, and even with that the wait is never long to see someone. I've never been seen by Dr. Eagan. I've seen Kate Johnson several times and the last time I went I saw Susan Esmond. They have both been a pleasure to see and have made awkward conversations more pleasant to have. They have also given me very good recommendations for specialists who have helped me with various issues. It's also very conveniently close to my apartment being at Rose Medical Center, and the building it's in offers valet parking if you don't want to find your own spot. I will definitely be sticking with this doctor's office while I'm living in Denver! read more

I've had nothing but positive experiences with Dr Press (who is awesome, btw), the nurses, front office staff, and Patrick (their phlebotomist). Received bill for my well visit because I discussed sleeping difficulties. Unbelievable

I am a working professional and find it difficult to take time off from work for a doctors appointment. I was told to arrive 15 minutes early for my appointment to fill out paperwork. Unfortuantely, I was still sitting in the waiting room 10 minutes after my scheduled appointment (25 minutes total), so why was I told to arrive early? I asked the front desk how long it would be before I was seen. I was told the doctor had a lunch meeting run late. My question is: why didn't they call the patients and inform them to arrive 20 minutes late for their appointment or better yet why didn't the doctor tell her lunch meeting she had appointments and couldn't stay? Possibly because this practice doesn't feel their patients time is as valuable as the doctors. I was becoming frustrated with the wait so they had a technician take me back and take my vitals and they left me in an exam room. A total of 50 minutes passed since my scheduled appointment and still no sign of the doctor. I finally opened the door to the exam room and it was crickets. I eventually saw the PA-C and explained that I didn't have any further time to sit waiting for the doctor. I had important meetings and calls scheduled, and didn't realize what should have been a quick routine appointment was going to turn into a afternoon waiting for the doctor. I was there from 1:35 to 2:40 and never saw the doctor. My insurance better not be charged since I never actually saw a doctor and it was a huge waste of my time. I do believe I'll be looking for a new PCP. read more

After moving from out of state I struggled to find a new doctor to be my "home" practice. I am so beyond grateful for finding Aspen. The staff is so wonderful and professional.
