I arrived early for my flight to Aberdeen (a bit too early actually) & had two hours to kill, so, I decided to pay the £24 & relax in some comfort & do some work.
I got to the desk where a very surly male member of staff took my money. His female counterpart was however very friendly, but it was just her second day, so was in training.
The man and his partner in front of me seem to have been double charged on his credit card and the male staff member proceeded to moan to his colleague that it was all the passenger's fault (very unprofessional indeed to do this in earshot of anyone, least of all another customer).
I sat down and tried to log in to the wifi, but with no success. The guy on the desk just shrugged his shoulders when I asked for help & said he was busy.
Food-wise, there wasn't much on offer. I eyed a couple of yoghurts and got myself a coffee.
Both yoghurts, when I opened them, had mould on the top, so I advised a member of staff and was told "these things happen. But thank you for telling me". She didn't go and look at the rest of the stock and that was it.
I left feeling that I had totally wasted £24. No wifi and mouldy food is unacceptable and I'd have been better to have gone to one of the many restaurants/cafes in the main terminal. The service would have been better and the wifi would have worked!
I run my own travel agency and this has certainly put me off using this lounge again, and I certainly won't be recommending it to any of my clients.
This is by far the worst experience I've ever had in an executive lounge, and to pay for the privilege is even more reason to complain.
Unless you wish to waste £24 per person, DON'T pay this lounge a visit.
On a scale of one to ten, when one is bad, let's say minus five would be generous!
I rest my case! read more
