The tree memorial for the 9/11 victims from the area was beautiful and a nice way to honor those folks in the community. There is alot of open grassy area to sit or play - a few benches along the trail, and a handful of picnic tables. If you want to sit out though, you probably want to bring your own chair. The walk was nice - very flat area without really any hills and the trail is paved, well defined, has mile markers, and is wide. It's a little over a mile, so if you're short on time you can get a quick walk in otherwise you can do a few laps to get in extra mileage! I did see there was a little playground area as well and a gazebo! There was actually a small ceremony happening when I was there. Another sweet thing to note, there is a senior living home on the trail, so it was lovely to see some elderly people out getting sunshine and enjoying the park too! Definitely recommend checking it out if you want to get outside and have a nice place to go!

The nicest surprise was the mini petting zoo inside. There were ducks, pigs, sheep, goats, alpacas, donkeys, and peacocks. It was beautifully kept and you could tell all the animals were very well kept and taken care of. There are multiple locations within the park you can stop and park and walk around and explore. We made sure to check out all of the Vietnam memorials and covered most of the main trails. We did not have the right shoes on to explore the hiking trails which was such a shame because they had some beautiful views from what we could see. It is one way in and one way out which was nice to limit the traffic flow within the park!

The baby was unsure at first (hes never really been in a pool now that he is aware of the world), but I got in & laid down with him & we had a blast... It was busy but not soo much that we were bothered... There were some lifeguards there that do make you feel safe, there is a restroom which is also convenient... It was a good time, I would definitely recommend if you have smaller children & dont want to deal with bigger kids pushing & splashing... However it was also my first time, I might have just picked a good day - who knows what next weekend will bring (Ill update)!

You can rent kayaks not too far away, although not familiar on the price. We bought our own paddleboards and there are several inlets along the water to load/unload the paddleboards. The beach area was crowded and all the picnic tables in this area was taken so we didn't get a chance to take advantage of those but that's ok we spent most of the day out on the water and then a short walk around the area. There seems to be quite a few hiking trail options as well, something to consider another time. Parking for out of state residents is $30!! Which is a lot, MA residents only $8 for all day parking.

I went to high school here and walked past Elm Park every day on the way to Dougherty high. I have fond memories of looking out at the water from both bridges. The first one is the most sentimental for me. I took pictures there after my high school graduation. I had many walks here with friends and family, and this park will always be sentimental to me. In the winter, I used to go ice-skating here. There were no rules or regulations, you just brought your skates and skated at your own risk. In the summer, I would take leisurely walks around the park and stop ar a bench and read a book for a while. I was here today for a visit and walked the park I had a joyous moment on each of the bridges. It's fun to relive your childhood. If only I knew then, what I know now.
