From their high regard for children, to their dynamic, entertaining and challenging messages, the ChangePoint family is truly a blessed bunch. The two main preachers, Dan and Joel, are a couple of the most intelligent, colorful, insightful and humble church leaders I've ever known. Dan is as lovable as Baloo the Bear and Joel seems to channel the personality of comedian Mike Myers. It's always a treat to hear either one of them speak. Sometimes I just feel like laughing and the two definitely deliver. The music ranges from Christian rock to beautiful inspiring melodies, enhanced by violin and cello. The singers and high tech crew put on a beautiful worship service. One of the most important teachings the staff at ChangePoint stresses is that 'Sunday church' is only a small part of what a church should be. This church family truly shines outside its lofty walls. They offer a great variety of volunteer opportunities for everyone to get involved. A Church is only as good as those who attend. The more effort one puts in, the more everyone benefits. Through ChangePoint, people are being served and cared for all over the globe. In conclusion, I simply couldn't be happier with the staff at ChangePoint. They work hard at fulfilling everyone's dream of an honest (financials are always available to view), caring, enlightening and uplifting church that one can open their hearts to and trust like family.

Especially if they make us sing all 4 verses! Except for Amazing Grace. I was pleasantly surprised at the praise team for University Baptist Church. Contemporary music with words on a screen to follow along and good Holy Spirit filled songs. Great voices that harmonize. And the drummer isn't too loud. Just right as well as the guitarist. I've attended two times while visiting here in Anchorage and have really enjoyed both sermons from Paster Willie. The only comment I would make would be to cut the singing to only 15 to 20 minutes and the actual sermon to only 30 to 35. But thats just me...someone who wants to get in and out fast. I'm probably very representative of the average person in this fast paced social media afflicted world. I've never reviewed a church service and the only other church that had an equally great choir/instruments was one Christmas Eve in Santa Fe, NM. The choir and instrumentalists blew my socks off. I later learned that most of the performers also perform for the Santa Fe Opera and Symphony. That explained why I felt like I was in the presence of angels singing from above! So to the singers and performers at University Baptist, you are doing an excellent job!
